Supporters of Ethiopia’s genocidal junta have made a fool out of themselves Thursday by holding a fake demonstration against Egypt in front of the US Department of State. If they have a problem with Egypt, why doesn’t their leader, Meles Zenawi, go to Cairo and talk to Egypt’s president Hosni Mubarak? Wouldn’t that be more effective than a rally in front of U.S. bureaucrats in Washington DC? They could also stage a demonstration in front of Egypt’s embassy, if it is really necessary.
The second issue that was said to be bothering the “demonstrators” is the recent bombing in Uganda’s capital Kampala. But what does the U.S. State Department have to do with the Kampala bombing? Are there Al Shababs inside the State Department?
This patently fake demonstration, which was financed by Ato Abinet GebreMeskel, a personal assistant to billionaire businessman Mohammed Al Amoudi, brought out about 50 people, many of whom are employees of the DC area Aksum Restaurant and other Woyanne-owned businesses.

It’s noteworthy to mention that very few people from the Tigrean community were in attendance. This is one more proof that Tigreans are distancing themselves from the Meles thugocracy. Meles is now surrounding himself with the likes of Solomon Tekalign — hodaderoch (opportunists) from every ethnic group.
One of the chief organizers of Thursday’s Woyanne rally is Demis Lema (aka Arawit). Arawit is wanted in Ethiopia for the savage beating of Ethiopian Reporter’s editor Amare Aregawi in October 2008. While other suspects were detained, Al Amoudi’s assistant Abinet GebreMeskel helped Arawit, a former nationally known soccer player, and one of Al Amoudi’s well-known thugs, to escape to the U.S. He now lives in Washington DC inside a $4,000 per month luxury apartment on Massachusetts Ave — all expenses paid by Al Amoudi.
Zenawi’s new Diaspora agenda
To ingratiate themselves with Woyanne, Al Amoudi’s full time thugs such as Arawit and Solomon “Qindibu” Tekalign, are all too willing to help carry out Meles Zenawi’s new campaign in the Diaspora. The campaign, however, is already backfiring:
First, it is making Ethiopians united against Woyanne more than ever. Today’s massive rally at the Chinese embassy was a major demonstration of unity.
Second, the message Meles and gang came up with to divide Ethiopians in the Diaspora, i.e., Nile River, is making Egyptian leaders irate. Ethiopian Review has learned that Egypt’s Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit has summoned Woyanne Ambassador in Cairo, Ibrahim Idris, and dressed him down for fabricating a regional crisis for political expediency.
It is to be remembered that Meles Zenawi had signed two secret agreements with Hosni Mubarak affirming Egypt’s quota over Nile River. The second one is as recent as 8 months ago (read here).
Afraid of Egyptian wrath, the Woyanne junta today sent out a message to its cadres to take it easy on Egypt and redirect their attention to the Kampala explosion.
Most Ethiopians, however, are NOT concerend with Egypt, Nile, Uganda, Al Shabab, etc. The most urgent demand of Ethiopians is the immediate removal of the Woyanne cancer from Ethiopia.
12:02 PM – The protest rally by Ethiopians at the Chinese embassy in Washington DC has now moved to the Woyanne-occupied Ethiopian embassy. By totally decimating the peaceful opposition parties in Ethiopia — with financial backing from the World Bank and technical assistance from China — Meles and gang may have thought that they have demoralized and killed the fighting spirit of Ethiopians. From the large demonstration we have seen today, Ethiopians are regrouping and ready to fight stronger and more aggressively than ever with new strategies, tools, and leadership.
11:20 AM – The protest rally at the Chinese embassy is now winding down. The protesters are preparing to march to the Woyanne occupied Ethiopian embassy that is nearby.

10:55 AM – Artist Tamagne Beyene is leading the protesters in voicing their demands: China, you are the source of instability in the Horn of Africa! China, stop propping dictators around the world! We hold you responsible for supporting Zenawi’s genocide in Ethiopia! The photo below was sent from Addis Dimts Radio host Abebe Belew’s iPhone.

10:40 AM – Several hundred Ethiopians carrying slogans are now standing in front of the Chinese embassy in Washington DC. Ato Neamin Zeleke is addressing the crowd.

10:00 AM – The protest rally is now under way in front of the China embassy in Washington DC. Ethiopians are demanding China to stop arming and providing technical assistance to the genocidal regime in Ethiopia. UDJ representative is addressing the rally.
It’s now 9 AM and Ethiopians have started gathering at the Chinese embassy in Washington DC to protest China’s anti-democracy and anti-human rights policy in Ethiopia. Photos and more updates shortly…

To return a favor to Egypt for helping Meles and gang come to power in Ethiopia, one of the first things genocidal thug Meles Zenawi did was to fly to Cairo and sign a secret agreement with Egypt’s President Mubarak.
The July 1993 accord signed in Cairo strips Ethiopia of its right to use the Nile River for development schemes. Article 6 of the accord states:
The two parties agree on the necessity of the conservation and protection of the Nile Waters. In this regard, they undertake to consult and cooperate in projects that are mutually advantageous, such as projects that would enhance the volume of flow and reduce the loss of Nile Waters through comprehensive and integrated development schemes.
In other words, Ethiopia must first get approval from Egypt before undertaking any development projects on Nile. (Read the full text here.)
In December 2009, Meles signed another agreement with Mubarak affirming Egypt’s quota over Nile, as reported by Al Aharam (click here to read).
The Meles-Mubarak bilateral agreements had angered the other Nile basin countries while boosting Egypt’s position.
Nowadays, desperate for diverting attention from the May 2010 election fiasco and growing domestic problems, the Meles regime is attacking Egypt over Nile River. In the process, Meles is dragging the region into yet another crisis.
Having said that, Egypt must respect Ethiopia’s rightful ownership of Nile. Egypt’s police must also stop its barbaric act of shooting poor Ethiopian immigrants in the back while they try to cross into Israel.
The planned meeting this week in the U.S. between representatives of the legitimate Ethiopian Orthodox Church’s Holy Synod that is currently in exile and the illegal synod that is in Addis Ababa has failed before it even started.
The Holy Synod has issued a press release explaining why the McLean, Virginia, meeting did not occur. Click here to read.
Chapter representatives and central committee members of Ethiopian People’s Patriotic Front (EPPF) held a worldwide conference on August 1, 2010, and have passed a 14-point resolution on problems facing the organization and measures that need to be taken to fix them.
The conference was attended by EPPF chapters from Europe, USA and Canada, as well as several central committee members.
EPPF is an armed resistance movement that has a great deal of potential in helping bring about change in Ethiopia. Unfortunately, the organization has been plagued with deep corruption and the leadership is infiltrated by some individuals who have ulterior motives.
A serious effort is now being made by a highly committed group of individuals to rid EPPF of corruption, nepotism, parochialism and incompetence. Those who are resisting change for their own personal interests — some are profiting from the organization — have recently started to mount a counter offensive by trying, through backdoor dealings, to reverse decisions made at EPPF’s General Assembly last February. These corrupt individuals have also started to appear on some internet discussion forums and publicly attack central committee members who are pushing for change. This has prompted all EPPF chapters in the Diaspora and central committee members to convene a conference on Sunday, August 1, and state their positions clear by passing a resolution.

In December last year, Meles Zenawi signed an agreement with Cairo acknowledging Egypt’s quota over Nile River. The agreement was revealed by Egyptian newspaper Al Aharam (click here to read). Now, 7 months later, the head of Ethiopia’s genocidal junta is sending his agents to the Diaspora to agitate Ethiopians about Ethiopia’s right to use Nile water.
It’s obvious that Meles and gang have started to talk about Nile to divert people’s attention from domestic troubles. It is a strategy right out of Wag the Dog. Although there is no doubt that Ethiopia has rightful ownership over Nile, the most urgent demand of Ethiopians at this time is the removal of the Woyanne cancer, not the use of Nile River.
In a campaign to divide Ethiopians in the Diaspora, Meles has given instructions to Woyanne cadres and bootlickers such as Solomon Tekalign to organize protest rallies against Egypt. The Viagra-addicted Al Amoudi is financing the operation, paying for transportation and hotel accommodation of those who take part in the rallies and meetings.
