  1. Person of the year should be LIDETU AYALAEW, who always stood for truth and dared to expose the incapability of Hailu shawel to be a chairman of the modern party during the formation of Kinijit. Had Kinijit listened the comments of Lidetu, Kinijit would have been the strongest party we ever had. Even, this division wouldn’t have taken place. Read Lidetu’s Book (which he wrote two years ago), then you will know why all the current problems of Kinijit have occured. I know most of you would be pissed off by this comment and even would want to kill me but lets be rational and judge. Believe it or not, Lidetu is a True Son of Ethiopia. All the fabricated accusations on Lidetu were similar to what we see now on Birtukan, Andargachew, and Dr Birhanu. Guys,be aware that there are hidden killers of our struggle, by disfaming our heros and true democrats like Andargachew Tsigae and Birhanu Nega.

  2. You should put in Catagory like:
    Ethiopian in Diaspora:
    Prof Al Mariam
    Ethiopian in Ethiopia:
    Juge Birtukan & Dr. Berahnu
    Person damaging fo the year:
    Guad Hailu Shawel

  3. My choice is Dr Birhanu Nega for the obvious reasons. Ethiopia is lucky to have a son like Dr Birhanu Nega, who is truthful, brite and ready to erve his country.

    I wish him good luck.

  4. Professor Alemaayehu for his geniune effert to point out what must be done. he will be my number one and Dr Berahanu
for his wisdom to lead us will be my number 2 choice. I love both guys.

  5. Dear Committee 2008,

I go for Chairman Daud Ibsa of OLF,for holding dear at heart on the right for Self-determination of the Oromos & have the feelings for the other oppressed peoples like Somali Ogadenians,Sidamas .. etc. Look here, I want to remind you the wisdom that “only free mind begets free people and country”, and as such Chairman Daud possesses this quality. No doubt about it. He gave a lot to his country and people. He can make difference and should remain the best to say the least.
    Thank You

  6. Dear all,

I strongly believe that “Peroson of the year” should be:
    1. Alemayehu Gebremariam
    2. Obang Metho
    3. Dr. Berhanu Nega and Bertukan Mideksa

Nobody needs to be reminded of what Prof Alemayehu Gebremariam and Obang Metho have contributed… and it is just immeasurable… Dr. Berhanu Nega and Bertukan Mideksa deserve it for their huge patience in order not to distruct and destroy the sole hope of Ethiopians cause despite of the tremendous surge of evile from Hailu Shawel et al.

  7. I would say Congressman Donald Payne and Associates for his tireless and persistent effort in getting the Ethiopian Democracy and Accountability Bill ( HR 2003) through Congress successfully something that a lot of experts have worked on for a long time.If it clears all herdeles and becomes law,it has the potential to change the lives of millions of Ethiopians. It is work in prgress. Let us give him and his colleagues credit.
    Thanks for the opportunity.

  8. I would recommend that Congressmen Chris Smith and Donald Payne be considered as persons of the year. They boldly and unequivocally stood for the democratic rights of the people of Ethiopia and by default set an example wherever oppression and despotic rule exist in Africa. They had nothing to gain and in fact had to bear the heavy burden and pressure from a well-financed onslaught of lobbyists hired by the government of Ethiopia and others with vested interests in the status quo in Ethiopia.
