Now that it is supported with an official statement from ETA, your/ER burdon seems light.
One hopes that DR. Taye will communicate his side of the facts with ETA and/or officially before their final decision at their next conference.
…no need to be judgemental until he has his say…

Hello Elias, I know you always fight for our beloved country. Sometimes please do not lose sight. I did not like Dr. Taye joining the Kinijit leadership at the 11 hour. It was a poor political calculation on his part to come on under the cover of the Shaleqa group. What is for sure- Dr. Taye spent 6 years in Weyane stincky jail fighting for Ethiopia.
Let us not throw everything at him when he is down. Let us please at the bigger picture. People do make mistakes but when should not destroy one of our own. Enough is enough.
God Bless

The form, procedure and content of the statement from ETA officials is so strong, critical and matured that I do not expect Dr Taye dare go for defending himself. The little and easy thing to do for Taye but important for the ETA was that to submit his resignation paper with no delay. As they are in the battle field, he would have done it on time. If he is a man of truth and decence, the only thing he is left with is now asking them pardon. I do not think any one else could have a moral ground to stand in those officials’ way. No one could blame them either.
Truth will triumph!!!
Dear Ato Elias,
I am afraid the size of my words is a bit bulky to this column but hope you allow me to be read. From the outset, I am very disappointed by some Ethiopians who hesitate to face facts on the ground. They make futile attempt to defend those who do not deserve. Some are too adamant and feel shame to change their minds even when it is badly needed for the purpose they claim to promote. Rhetorically they fight for freedom of expression and oppose censorship but practically advise you not to disseminate information not because of a convincing reason but if it does not appeal to their taste. For instance, a person who has contributed comment no.4 above intends to advise you not to be too fast to react. I honestly appreciate his/her humbleness but is it the point he/she wants to communicate? Does he or she really know that his/her people including himself/herself lagged behind in hundreds years in terms of achieving, among other things, basic human needs and rights at homeland mainly as a result of failing to challenge the vivid realities. I maybe wrong but I think he/she is saying so because he/she reads you with news he/she does not want to read or hear. That is about current developments with Dr Taye. Of course, the man was sacked from his job and imprisoned for years by Woyane due to his commitment to promoting the cause of teachers and Ethiopians at large. We have to recognize and respect his positive contributions to the struggle but we should equally know that his sacrifice encountered sometimes in the past could not serve him as a free licence to ride the innocent or be worhipped as an almighty now and in the future. It is worthwhile to note that as yes is remarkable no is also essential to keep a balance of natural phenomenon as like between the strong and week, agreement and disagreement, truth and false, comply and defy, rational and irrational, surrender and resistance, etc. We should not pave a way for anyone to misbehave. Such an act will spoil not only the cause but also the individual altogether. To sum up, no doubt Dr Taye committed a grave mistake when he ignored the ETA officials’ letter dated 15-07-07 by which they requested him to send them a resignation letter which was quite frankly immaterial for him to make it possible but for them, given the nature of the regime, desperately needed to prove the independence and defend legal status of ETA, an icon organization that has effectively won high reputation and full public support within and abroad particularly of the international community maintained for nearly the last 6 decades. Had it not been for the right course of action of its dedicated, courageous and wise leadership working being available at the right place, ETA would have been subject to losing all these wonderful assets. I wish political organizations and their leaders would be able to learn a lot from this professional Association and its leaders.
