Ethiopian Review has received information that Ethiopian dictator Meles Zenawi’s wife, Azeb Mesfin, went to Rome, Italy, last night. Two days ago, we had reported that she received an Italian visa.
It is believed that Azeb left the country to escape from Sebhat Nega whom she forced out of the ruling party’s top leadership in 2009 [read here]. She also kicked him out of his chairmanship of the multibillion-dollar conglomerate named Endowment Fund for the Rehabilitation of Tigray (EFFORT) around the same time.
Ever since Meles Zenawi’s absence in the past two weeks, Sebhat Nega has been trying to come back as the TPLF kingmaker. It was Sebhat who engineered Meles Zenawi’s rise to power and he was the second most powerful figure in the ruling party until he was humiliated and kicked out by Azeb.
Sebhat is said to have the support of key TPLF leaders, including Tsegaye Berhe, Abay Woldu, Gen. Se’are Mekonnen, and Getachew Assefa, among others.
Sebhat Nega has no interest to replace Meles Zenawi, according to observers, but he wants to restore his honor and reclaim his status as the kingmaker.
Although Meles’s choice as the next TPLF chief is Berhane Gebrekiristos, Sebhat is vehemently against it, our sources said.
In the midst of all this power struggle inside the ruling party, the regime currently has no leader. The so-called “deputy prime minister,” Hailemariam Desallegn, is a puppet with no power. He is currently in China to attend some meeting. That could be an excuse for him NOT to get caught in the middle of a potentially bloody power struggle among his TPLF masters.

Let the game begin. When the judgment of God pursues the guilty, all hell breaks lose and no power can hinder him. What goes around comes around. Woyannes accused others of terrorism just because our freedom fighters sought freedom for their country and made them stand trial but now God’s justice is making the guilty ones face real judgment of many kinds including vegetating or killing the head while giving the others reason to shoot eachother. Lets just see what all these means to our beloved country.
God Bless Ethiopia
the so called “deputy prime minister,” Hailemariam Desallegn will defect soon to save his ass. TPLF is ruin and his master dead so seek asylum elsewhere.

Our concern is TPLF not Hailemariam Desallegn. Since the treacherous one is gone we can make him our body!

” the deputy prime minster”, Hailemariam Desalllegn is an intellectual endowed with civilized leadership knowledge supported by his acadamic exellence. I can tell you he can walk in the public as free as any one, as he has nothing to be blamed of.
Because he is not from Tigray,it doesn’t mean that he can’t take the leadership power underlined in the constitution.

Dear Teme,
Wake up and get real. Don’t talk about constitution which has no value as far as weyane is on power. They will never comply with it and I think they even forget about it’s existence. It is only a tool of repression for tplf.
Regarding his innocence, then he can clean himself in front of a free judiciary system. But knowing him when I study in Arbaminch and his involvement in one incident which the locals blame him for masterminding it, I don’t think he can freely walk like anyone of us. But he is angel when compared to meles the snake!!!
Cheers!!!
What is it really going on. It is like a dream and it appears like I/we are living in a fantasy world. Can not really the international/seemingly more credible media like the BBC say something about what it’s making a story about Ethiopian/african issue/s.
I don’t like to know the reality about Meles, but the current and tangible reality!
They need to be brought by all means to the tribunal court in Hauge and justice has to be served for all the children that has been slaughtered, that so many lifes has been lost by this regime. There has to be set an example from now on. If they can get away with it there’ll no conseqences this will lead to any one that come to power will respect the written law and there’s no accountability.
This is fundamental to have a change no reconcilation when it comes to the rule of law. If you don’t respect the law of the land then you have no respect for the citzens of that country. A change can happen only when we abide the law if there has been consequences for Mengistu today Woyane would not and should not have commited all the crime.
One of the agenda of the coming power has to be this people each and everyone of them has to be brought to justice. It’s so obvious to see even today after 23 years the way they behave and tlak to media is absolutly no respect total tyrany. I know any where they go they will not have peace all Ethiopians will watch out for them. You don’t kill so many people and get away with it.
They distroy the educational system, stole all international aid and the country resources redirected to build only tigray while other parts who provided the resources suffer from mal nutrition, diseas from lack of hospital and education facility. Of course their money went to build TPLF pocket and rebuild Tigray. All the business they established outside the country it has to be investigated and taken back to the poor people where the money was stolen from.
Peace for Ethiopia and its people
Death to Woyane
Don’t ever give them any clue what to do next. Or don’t suggest them any future what to do or what is best or who is should / is going to replace the dictator Meles. That idea will help the twice. One is they don’t know what to do next , you are going to give them best ideas. Second is when Meles was alive he did a good time bomb which should explode by now. We need that to happen. That is the game changer. And we all need it.
Distort them by any possible conspiracy theory. And do a great propaganda to call every one of us to a some focal point by avoiding our past difference. And make the woyanes disappear and disintegrate in to pieces.
Elias good job. Your time to be a computer era hero is due!
Meles and Azeb have faces that spell and describe their true nature – EVIL.
Believe me there will not be any kind of problem in the country as the systerm is intact the way people has supoorted.
Nothing will change in the Weyane camp. All Weyane and former weyanes agree on a single issue: they all want to see the next leader of Ethiopia to be a former Weyane entity. If not, at least he has to be a Tigraian.
Therefore, do not expect any change.

Hello opposition party leaders wake up unite and do not alow another 20 years suffering in Ethiopian people . To all Ethiopians let us stand together for once and all to form the Ethiopian people leaders not dictators. Let us stand up stop talking and talking stop blaming some body. May be one day when we stop thinking for stomach and when we
decide thinking for rule of law and real Democracy that we can
choose by our own free right as a free man.
Meles dies in Brussels several days ago as revealed by Dr. Feseha, ER, the Transitional Council and other sources. Azeb, other family members as well as TPLF officials fly back to Ethiopia after putting Meles’ corpse in a fridge and the security decoys at the hospital. While In Ethiopia, they’ll work out the details chief among them power transition and funeral arrangements. Now all that has been completed, Azeb, along with other officials per protocol, fly back to Brussels by way of Rome to retrieve and escort her deceased husband to his birth place of Adwa. If he was alive, she would not have left his side. His corpse is expected in Ethiopia on Monday or Tuesday.
Alexo, you made only a simple grammar mistake, ruined, for the rest I hope you are right, there is still a chance to bring up our beloved country from the ashes it was forced to be in by two brutal dictatership, down to what ever the T.P.L.F. will try to do ,remember I am a Tigrean and you have seen what they have been doing, are they people to be proud of,I am from Mekelle and I am disgusted to see people like Sebhat Nega to rule over my beloved home.
Hi Elias KIFLE The GREAT (KEEP IT UP),
These days I am just leaping for joy. We will be soon free of those beggars.
A Peaceful Ethiopia will prevail
The way Mrs. Azeb dresses symbolises that Meles is dead.
God may save our country!
Dear Ethiopians,
Well the thieves don’t fight whilst stealing; they do it bitterly when they share!! That is happening now and will continue to be so. We Ethiopians need much better leaders than those who are intoxicated by the bloods of innocents, rejoice by the sufferings of others and become wealthy by the sufferings and misery of over 85 million Ethiopians. Letting such a system to continue means there must be some issue that all Ethiopians share!! Is it a Fear or Disunity? Please do answer my question all of you! Don’t keep silent!! Do your bits in the way you think is correct for the futurity of the country and its entire peoples—meaning generations to come!
We must be able to stand shoulder to shoulder regardless of the differences we might have if we want to succeed in bringing the whole criminal apparatuses down and create the system where all Ethiopians fully feel a part of! If any of the Ethiopians think otherwise, it will be very difficult for us all to come together to confront our common enemy in Unison.
Allowing the members of such criminals including Bereket Simeon and others his likes to continue at the levels they are currently means letting another darkest years to muddle all Ethiopians’ all round lives. This must be stopped!! There can’t be ‘If’s’ or ‘but’s’. We don’t need weapons to do so apart from a united effort that is based on common objectives for all Ethiopians defying the older myth. Let’s Unite and rescue Ethiopia and Ethiopians from the hands of Dragons, and say no to their rule unanimously!
The Mega Monster has gone for good!! Let his soul rest in peace!! We Ethiopian don’t condemn the dead!! Yet his legacy reverberates for the months if not years to come. His vicious wife must follow her husband whose regime caused intolerable misery to the lives of majority.
Besides, his apparatuses are still intact that need to be fully shaken if Ethiopians to be in better potions in the years to come. Otherwise, the scenario remains ‘Wuhan Biwokitut Inboch!!’
We Ethiopian must be able to say ‘No’ to injustices and its agents (TPLF/EPRDF)who were in power for the last 21 years.
D. Natie, Sidamaw
only solution for our country is forgiveness, gov’t comes and goes but people must remain together or we will not have a country, if south africans forgive those bustards we can too, if african american forgive we can too, let’s learn from them and pull our people for oneness
save our people from war and poverty we can not afford those distruction,
Woyane will burn in hell! burn woyane burn
