(Pana) ABUJA — Ethiopia’s tribal dictatorship on Tuesday asked Nigeria to deploy a contingent of its troops for ‘peace-keeping mission’ the border with Eritrea.
Making the request when he paid a courtesy call on Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, Mrs. Fidelia Akuabata Njeze, Ethiopian Woyanne Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Suleiman Dedefo Woshe, said the deployment of troops to the border of the two countries would prevent the situation in the disputed area “from degenerating into a full scale war”.
Woshe also solicited for Nigeria’s assistance for peace sustenance between Ethiopia Woyanne and the Eritrea.
He told Njeze that Eritrea, which shares a common border with Ethiopia, had violated the peace accord signed by the two countries.
Ethiopia Woyanne, Dedefo said, had restrained itself from retaliation to avoid full-scale war between the two countries, adding that war was never a solution to such situations.
Responding, Njeze described Dedefo’s visit as meaningful, saying Nigeria and Ethiopia had a good history of long-standing relationship in their peace-keeping efforts in Africa and beyond.
According to her, Nigeria has peace as its primary mission and will work to ensure the two countries live in peace.
She said peace in the African Region was of primary importance to the present Nigerian administration.
Nigeria, she added, would work towards signing a Memorandum of Understanding bet ween Ethiopia and Nigeria, to cement the existing relationship between the two countries.

The Woyanne government is up to no good. While they claim they want peace with Eritrea, they never cease with their war footing. The Woyanne regime set up a new military camp on Mount Musa-Ali. The Woyanne regime built a network of winding roads up the mount, and, deployed offensive, long-range, artillery and heavy equipment with the apparent knowledge and acquiescence of its major backers.
The U.S, UN, AU, and IGAD were quick to condemned Eritrea. Yet, they deliberately ignored Ethiopia’s action on Mount Musa-Ali. The Woyanne regime’s actions were clearly coordinated with the U.S. and Djiboutian government. And when Eritrea uncovered and took actions to disrupt the scheme being developed by the U.S., Ethiopia, and to some degree Djibouti, they cried foul and accused Eritrea of “military aggression against Djibouti.”
Every time the Woyanne government is up to no good, they march from one country to another claiming they want peace with Eritrea. Interestingly, while they have not accepted the verdict rendered by the EEBC, Mr. Suleiman Dedefo Woshe told Njeze that Eritrea, which shares a common border with Ethiopia, had violated the peace accord signed by the two countries.
1. Didn’t the peace agreement also say the EEBC verdict is “final and binding?”
2. Since the EEBC verdict was virtually demarcated, Eritrea is not in violation of the peace agreement. Eritrea moved its troops in the “temporary demilitarized zone.” There is no purpose to explain this point any further as the word “temporary” explains it in itself.
The Woyanne government needs to move on, give up the land that does not belong to it and stop giving away land that does.
The beggars Wayane never cease to be a laughing stock of the world! Simply begging is in their DNA!
The woyanes are not tired of lying. They demand a land that belongs to Eritrea,Badme. On the contrary they give away land that belongs to Ethiopia to sudan.
Those Woyanes are in need of psychiatricts in order to recover from their mental incapabilities.
The woyane soldiers are dying for nothing. A mercenarry has no by any means moral obligation. Shame on Woyane chiefs like Meles and Seyum.
Soldiers will rise up against you one day. Trust me. Then chapter of anarchy will be closed.
What is a contingent of Nigerian army deployed in the border are going to accomplish what the well ballyhooed and UN/US blessed UNMEE failed to achieve? And why does anybody need another tax payer’s money in the form of Nigerian troops for a case that is legally sealed. The reason is obvious and that is for the Weyane to kill time indefinitely tying down our youth in the border area for ever with out releasing them and being normal productive young people married and have some children and support their (probably) not well to do families if they have any that is. Folks, if this is not major crime by the Weyanes, I don’t know what it would be called!
It looks like Legesse Zenawi is scared of another conflict. he doesn’t have support with the Eritrean issue. It doesn’t make sence to complain by saying Eritrea trying to take our land while giving chunk of lands to sudan. His inner agenda for Eritrea is clear now. His Abay-Tigray dream of creating a nation by distabilzing the entire region had alread put him in trouble. Guns will be tooting from every direction towards to this arrogant dictators and his TPLF cadres. their end is coming. it is coming sooner than they expect.
It’s really nice that Ethiopian people are beginning to see Woyane for what it really is..a deceptive, immoral and criminal junta. In 1998 Meles and co. declared war on Eritrea, falsly claiming that the latter invaded Ethiopian land. Meles and his TPLF gangs never, not even for a second, cared for Ethiopia’s integrity. As coniving as he is, he figured that the only way he can grip power and fulfill his lifetime dream of establishing “Abay Tigray” is by getting the backing of the Ethiopian people to engage in what they thought was a “war of aggression”. What transpired after those three years of bloody war was that:
1. Over 100,000 precious lives were vanished
2. The dream of establishing “Abay Tigray” was just that…A DREAM.
3. The international court determined Badme to be an Eritrea territory, exposing woyane’s aggression.
As for this article about Nigeria’s desire as a peace keeper, it’s just a smoke screen to coverup for the big picture and to make the world look at Woyane as a peace seeking party. No one will be fooled by it. What is so irony about the article is also how is it even concievable for Nigeria to be in a peace keeping mission when it’s not even showing neutrality with regards to the border issue.
The Nigerian Spokesman actually accused Eritrea of violating the Peace Accord???
Nonetheless, bad news to woyane and his stooges, it seems that the people of Ethiopia are reacting to such garbage news by saying “Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me”. We shouldn’t allow Meles the servant turn the Horn of Africa into a playground for the western interest at the expense of the people. We should say NO MORE to war and suffering of our people.
If there anything the weyanes have learned in the past 17 years or so are, A- keep the Ethiopian people at bay with guns pointing to their heads while Meles is preaching with donated suits and ties democracy, development, and elections, B- keep the Eritreans, Somalians, Sudan, and now Djoubuti with out peace so one day Tigry to become the conqueror of the region (Abi Tigry) while Meles is wearing his donated suits and ties, C- keep preaching to the west democracy, development, and elections when the approach of weyanes politics are MY BEHIND FOR THE WEST AND MY FRONT THE EAST.
