ETHIOMEDIA EDITOR’S NOTE – Ethiomedia has received articles that seriously criticize Elias Kifle, editor of Ethiopian Review, over his remarks that have increasingly become unethical, irresponsible and destructive to the interests and aspirations of Ethiopians. Elias, who is perhaps the only person running towards Eritrea at a time when Eritreans are fleeing in every possible direction to save their lives, has brought himself under fire. We hope the editor, who has been generous in attacking others whose ideas don’t agree with his, would be careful enough to accept criticisms with grace, and learn a lesson or two. Following is a commentary by Ephrem Madebo:
“Never kill them before they grow”
By Ephrem Madebo
“Every time I plant a seed, he said kill them before they grow.” This is a living lyric from the late vibrant Reggae star, Bob Marley’s classic – “I shot the Sheriff.” If Marley were alive today, I am sure he would have sung another song with the same lyrics to the likes of Ethiopian Review editor who, like a bad tagboat, throws away every new idea that he doesn’t agree with.
I had a close association with the ER editor years ago in the heydays of “Tegbar League.” In fact, I joined the “Tegbar League” group discussion forum at the request of the moderator (the ER editor), and I was expelled when I openly criticized Lidetu Ayalew for his 2002 crude action. Mind you the ER editor is the very person that blames Meles Zenawi for muffling the free press, but he himself didn’t even think twice before he silenced me in his little world. What a hypocrisy! Regardless of the nature of the ideas, I usually keep small ideas at the personal level. This week after I read two indiscriminately misguiding articles on Ethiopian Review website, I decided to go public because I thought total silence does not do any good to the public.
Towards the end of last week, I read an article on Ethiopian Review that brought to light a covert negotiation between OLF and Ginbot 7. The article inadvertently reveals a possible political breakthrough that has the potential to change the course of history in Ethiopia. If the information that came to light is authentic, I applaud the investigative cleverness of the ER sources for digging deep and informing the public on what is to come, I also appreciate their effort in trying to directly or indirectly put pressure on the leaders of the opposition camp. Here is the part that I totally disagreed and demanded an explanation. For those of you who didn’t have the chance to read ER’s article on the clandestine meeting of Ginbot 7 and OLF, here is the warning of the ER editor to the two organizations [OLF, Ginbot 7] and to the rest of us:
“ER sources in both Ginbot 7 and OLF are not ready to disclose where the secret talks are being held, but for maximum political effect, any agreement that they reach needs to be signed in Asmara. Any one who doubts the significant role the Eritrean government can play in destroying Woyanne is either politically ignorant, or a closet Woyanne sympathizer, or does not fully comprehend the severity of the crisis our country is facing.”
I’m not sure whether the editor is acting from his inner feeling, or out of his imagination, but at least I do understand that when people act under the influence of imagination, there is no boundary for their passion. Imagination is the formation of a mental image of something that is not perceived as real and is not present to the senses. It is good to allow the image of the outside world have an input in our way of thinking, scheming, contriving, remembering, creating, fantasizing, and forming opinion, but we must understand that politics and everything we do must be accompanied by passion and driven by principle because too much imagination kills both principle and passion.
I wonder what in the “Hell” Asmara has to do with the likely outcome of political events in Ethiopia. Isn’t Asmara the home of Esayas Afewerke, a man who never sleeps before he makes sure that Ethiopia is reduced to multiple mini states? Had there been an inch thick of a heart that worries for Ethiopia under the chest of Essays, Asmara wouldn’t have opened its door for separatist elements that fight to dismantle Ethiopia, and for EPPF; an organization that firmly stands for the unity of Ethiopia. If there is anything that the opposition gets from Asmara today, it will definitely be paid back at an exorbitantly high price tomorrow. The question of Assab, Bademe, Tsorena, and other border areas that I can’t even name are issues that face the current opposition in the future when it assumes power. If we believe that Esayas is willing to raise a lion that may ultimately devour him, we’re not just lying through our teeth, but we are also simplifying very complex national issues.
Another very important issue that the Ethiopian Review editor must understand is that we Ethiopians can respectfully disagree with him in many issues without he calling us “politically ignorant, or Woyanne sympathizers.” As an editor, he must strike the balance between the flow of ideas and the interest of the public. An editor must appreciate dissent and accept criticism. By the way, isn’t the very essence of our struggle built on the values of respectful disagreement and on the principles of working together for a common cause? When an editor seeks freedom of speech for himself, he/she becomes captive of his/her desire and misguides millions of people. But, when an editor seeks discipline, he/she guides the freedom journey of the masses to victory. The era of blanket condemnation and character assassination is over. Editors, or readers, what we do and what we say should clearly identify on which part of the isle we stand. Here is a script from ER editor’s message this week:
“Let’s go straight to the crux of the matter: UDJ by its actions and positions had demonstrated itself to be a political party without a popular base. It is a fake party without popular constituency.”
How do we measure the popularity of political parties? What makes some parties real and others fake? I might not give you the answer for these two questions, but I can at least say the following: The ER editor has neither the moral background nor the empirical authenticity to publicly declare that UDJ is a fake party with no political constituency. How dare a man who like me enjoys burgers at the comfort of a “drive-in,” calls UDJ a fake party with no political constituency? Which constituency are we talking here? Isn’t UDJ a party that collected more than 10,000 signatures in few days when the government required 1500? Isn’t Bertukuan a lady who with no fear confronted Zenawi’s wicked legal system in her professional life? Didn’t this same relentless defender of democracy waste two years of her precious young life in Kaliti prison for our common cause? Regardless of their choice of strategy, Bertukan and other members of UDJ have demonstrated their undeterred will to endlessly stand for the true cause of democracy.
There are many people in Ethiopia who preferred to live a quiet life to confronting Meles. Again there are many of us who raced out to the Western world because Meles screamed at us. Members of UDJ are still in Ethiopia knowing that they might be targets of Zenawi’s killing squads. These people need support and protection, not abuse and senseless mortification. UDJ has taken its first step; let’s give them the necessary time and support to have them show us the whole staircase. If we have no patience of looking deep into the future, then we need to take a lesson from the biblical story of Noah. Remember, there was no rain when Noah built the ark. He built it anyways when others ridiculed him because he had a good vision of the future. Criticizing our political parties is the right thing to do, but killing them before they grow is wrong. There are many things that we can do to collectively get closer to victory. If anything else, please let’s avoid any feeling of bitterness towards others because bitterness is a cancer that eats upon the host.
Evidently, the proliferation of political parties has a tendency to water down the strength of the opposition camp, but this does not and should not imply that we as a nation should be limited to one party. Even if we believe in the idea of one party, we just don’t have to kill existing parties when we embrace new comers. Our belief is ours and ours only; we can sell it to others, but we must not impose our belief on the general public. UDJ has chosen to stay inside Ethiopia and wage a peaceful struggle. To those of us who have a different strategy, UDJ can be our good ally inside Ethiopia. Some of us might not want to have UDJ as an ally, so be it; but this doesn’t mean that UDJ is our enemy. We must make a distinction between a friend, a potential friend, and a foe. In politics, there is neither permanent alliance nor permanent animosity.

Please be logical and correct your recollection. What has Elais’ criticism of Dr. Beyene has to do with Ephrem’s removal from the discussion forum? I don’t get it. Please speak the truth like Ephrem did. He used very carful words when he criticized Elias. He did not even mention his name, he just said: ER editor. I have read many comments of Ephrem on the TPLF bulls, that man can say hard words too.
Time to whip ethiomedia into shape is the ‘fact we know’.ER keep on exposing woyanne and its undercover agents….
‘Elias Yalew Weyim Mot!’: Reviewing the Ethiopian Review
By Tesfaye Maru / June 22, 2008
A lot of positive and negative things have been said about Elias Kifle, the publisher of the Ethiopian Review. There were times that he appeared like any citizen who is genuinely angry about the gross human rights violations that are taking place in Ethiopia and is doing his part to expose them. As such, many of his commentators on his web site refer to him as “the true son of Ethiopia”. On the other hand, there were more instances where he stooped to the lowest of lows to attack people with whose politics he doesn’t agree.
In that respect, many accusations have been thrown his way. Some say that despite screaming out for what he says is democracy, he is hardly a democrat; that he would do the same thing this government is doing if he is to hold any power; that his disrespect for people he disagrees with does not promote democratic behavior and is sickening; that his frequent willingness to stoop to the lowest of places to attack people is disgusting; that he promotes “extremism” and so on. Of course, I have heard people praising him or crucifying him depending on who is being attacked. Personally, I have found it equally sickening when he said Tefera Walwa is “[the dumbest person in the EPRDF cabinet]”, that Hailu Shawel and company are all sorts of names, and Dr. Berhanu Nega was a Kehadi of some sort (that was before he became his new found “hero” now). Whether the victims are deserving of it or not, the ease with which he bad mouths people has always made me uncomfortable. As for the “extremist” views he promotes, I had given him the benefit of the doubt or even defended him, not just because he has the right to self expression, but also because I do not like to delude myself into thinking that those are opinions held by him alone. If the rating of his web site is any indication (despite all those annoying pop-up ads), it seems that he has a significant following and whether we like it or not, he brings that fact to light for us. What to do with that information is another question. All in all, as much as I have been sickened by some of his activities, I have also given him the benefit of the doubt in the face of many accusations thrown against him. But I have never brought myself to write a serious commentary about it.
However, one of the latest rumors circulating about him – that he is sponsored by the Eritrean regime – coupled with his recent activities, has caught my attention and is not a matter that I felt should be passed without some examination because his activities are negatively affecting people and causes many of us care about. Let’s get some things clear before we move on: first of all, no one has come forward with any hard evidence showing that Elias Kifle is paid by the Eritrean government for what he does. So far it’s all rumors. Second, we have to ask ourselves a question: does anybody really have to be paid by Eritrea to raise the prospect of cooperating with it? I do not think so. In fact, at one point, it appeared to me as if he was being used by some politicians who want to test the water before considering the dangerous option of cooperating with Eritrea. But that is only my suspicion, and those are only politicians. What do average Ethiopian say about this? During the last Great Ethiopian Run, it was reported that some youngsters were chanting “Gifa belew Shabian, gifa belew!” Furthermore, I have talked on the phone to random Ethiopians back home and have heard positive reviews of Isayas Afewerqi. My point is this: the fact that Elias Kifle promotes these opinions should not be the sole reason to suspect that he is getting paid for it. The truth is that, fortunately or unfortunately, however way you look at it, this opinion belongs to a significant portion of our populace. Although many Ethiopians understand the harm Isayas’ government has caused and the threat he continues to pose on our country, they are genuinely worried that Meles’ power in the region will be even more strengthened if the former is removed from power. There is also the short sighted perspective: though they understand the brutal hand he has been exercising on his own people, given the stubbornness of our people, they would rather embrace Isayas and the double standard that comes with it and score any point they could against Meles’ and company. I do not believe these people are treasonous or want bad things to happen to our country. Some have viable arguments, and others just feel suffocated and helpless in the current political situation. How to deal with these people and their opinions, and channel their energy into more productive and long sighted ways of freeing our country is a topic for another essay.
Under normal circumstances, I would not think it is productive to speculate about a person’s motive and would just stick to discussing the merit in the idea being promoted. And as I said above, the issue of cooperation with Eritrea is an opinion held by so many well meaning Ethiopians, so it is not something we can get past by denouncing the opinion holders and the opinion. Thus, the merit of the idea must be debated in a respectful environment. I am sure that if these people are presented with logical and convincing arguments as to how dangerous it is for our country in the long term to team up with Eritrea, they would be willing to abandon any thing, let alone an opinion, for the sake of our country. I am also sure that many of these people, despite entertaining such ideas of cooperation with a living enemy of our nation, do understand the importance of our different pro democracy organizations and are providing them with all the support they need.
However, when it comes to Elias Kifle, there is something that makes him different from all these people who just happened to hold those opinions; and that is what calls for the examination of what could be his real motive or any other underlying reason for his actions. As I have said, motive may not matter as long as we can debate the merit of an idea with reason. But in such cases when there is no merit to an idea and when, giving no room to discussions and debates, the man jumps to campaigns of destruction, it is important for us to learn if there is a hidden motive.
What makes Elias Kifle different from the average Tafese promoting any idea? It is not just the fact that he is the publisher of one of the highest rated Ethiopian web sites. First of all, the arguments he so fervently puts out in support of the ideals he promotes are mostly short sighted, and devoid of logic and detail. He makes his foreign policy advices in the kitchen and he doesn’t even seem to cook them. Secondly, despite the weaknesses of those ideas, he does not seem to leave any room for disagreement. After he comes up with those ideas, (heaven spare those on his way!) it is his way or death. He will then invest so much time and energy, and sell his own name and integrity (I do not know the man personally, but I am just giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming he had one) to unleash some of the most disgusting and vicious personal attacks on people who are respected and revered by many. Never and nowhere have I seen the kinds of attacks Elias Kifle has at different times unleashed against different personalities in the Ethiopian political arena. Not even on those sickening government sponsored web sites! This man does not know the difference between young and old! He attacks opposition politicians, who have done nothing but risk their lives to face our gun-totting-mistake-for-a-government on a daily basis, the same way he attacks the child killers (in fact worse on countless occasions!)!
So please tell me: if a person is all about democracy and what is best for the country, doesn’t it make sense to you that he would present his disagreements with logical arguments and invite discussions open mindedly? And even in the case of loss of hope for such discussions, how about going off and supporting those political organizations he likes? Why so much drive to destroy others? And why the need for so much vicious attacks on the personalities behind organizations he doesn’t agree with? Let’s examine some of his recent activities and see if we can find answers.
The past couple of weeks, he has been trying to do two things: one is to pressure the newly formed Ginbot 7 into cooperating with Eritrea and embrace armed struggle fully among other things; and the other is trying to destroy the UDJ. There are two possible reasons that I can think of: one is that, as some say, he is actually receiving an incentive to promote the idea of armed struggle and the necessity it entails – Eritrea – at the cost of what is best for our country; the other is that he is genuinely concerned about our country, but is politically ignorant and lacks in strategic thinking.
Let’s explore the first possibility by asking an important question: who and what does Elias Kifle support? I will try to answer this question by pointing out two things. First, in his attempt to see the end of the UDJ before it even begins, he tries to portray himself as the supporter of Ginbot 7 and demands the leaders of the former that they free their support organizations across the world from their obligations so that they could support the latter. He also calls on them to close down all operations and join Ginbot 7. But he really isn’t a supporter of the latter either. Because, just the week before, he was giving them an ultimatum to “prove themselves in six months” and among the list of demands he was making was embracing armed struggle and cooperating with the Eritrean government. Looking at all the “recommendations” and demands he makes of Ethiopian political groups, the issue of armed struggle, and thus, cooperation with Eritrea seems to stand out. It seems to be the standard with which he judges all groups. What this means is that if Ginbot 7 does not “prove themselves in six months” by doing those two things (they are really one because seeking Eritrean support is almost a must if you are pursuing armed struggle), we should expect Elias to attack the organization, degrade its leaders, call them names, etc…Therefore, we can establish here that he is no genuine supporter of Ginbot 7. He is a supporter of what they can be if they follow his advices, with no room for disagreement, of course. (Never forget the rule: Elias yalew weyim mot!)
Second, he tries to portray himself as someone who wants a viable struggle waged against the status quo in Ethiopia and is accepted by many of his supporters as such. That doesn’t seem to be the case either; at least not to me. Because if it was, this man would keep an open mind like Ginbot 7 does and tolerate and be inclusive of all those who are in the struggle in their different ways as long as they are not harming the cause or our country. Even if there was to be a disagreement, a pro democracy Ethiopian would disagree with the ideas and support those groups he/she agrees with. But we all know that is not what Elias does. What he does is: the minute he has figured that his “armed struggle and Eritrea” policy is not being embraced by a certain organization; he would unleash a barrage of personal attacks on its leaders and start a campaign to destroy the organization in question. His behavior, let alone being of a democracy promoter, is an epitome of the very thing that has been destroying our countless organizations, associations, parties, etc…As such, by all measuring standards, it is very hard to say this man’s goal among other goals, let alone the only goal, is democracy in Ethiopia.
Therefore, what we infer from the two points raised above is that Elias Kifle is a supporter of armed struggle and cooperation with Eritrea above anything else. But to what end? We do not know and that is something only he can answer, but we have established that it sure doesn’t seem like it is for democracy. And this leaves the option of a hidden motive wide open.
If that is not the case and the man genuinely wants democracy for Ethiopia, then the only other possible reason left for his actions is sheer political ignorance and lack of strategic thinking among other things.
First of all, his attempt to portray Ginbot 7 and the UDJ as organizations that are opposites, as opposed to ones that can compliment each other, is lack of understanding of the very philosophy on which the former is formed. Ginbot 7 has made it clear that its goal is to bring together all democracy loving Ethiopian parties, movements, civic organizations, etc…for the purpose of joining efforts in the struggle against the dictatorship and shorten its time in power. They did not say they want to destroy any body. Even more importantly, the last thing the leaders of Ginbot 7 would like to see happen is their former Kinijit colleagues – whom they know to have integrity and dedication – denigrated, disrespected, and called names. I am sure that Elias’ former enemy but new found hero, Dr. Berhanu Nega himself, strongly disapproves the former’s attacks on UDJ’s leaders. As such, Elias is not only distorting or misinterpreting the stated goals of Ginbot 7, but also stepping all over the personal values of its leaders and portraying them in a bad light.
Secondly, he makes an attempt to portray leaders of the UDJ as complacent with the sufferings that are happening in Ethiopia at the moment, as fearful of prison, as people who want full time jobs with travel options, and as fake opposition who are only there to give the government legitimacy. He gives no substantive evidence to prove his points, and past and current records of the individuals point to the opposite. The only thing left for me to say is that he completely misses the point of why the UDJ exists under the current circumstances in Ethiopia. Before I go on to explain this, let’s quickly go over each accusation. 1. The leaders do criticize the government on various issues although it may not be to the satisfaction of Mr. Elias and his likes. All one needs to do is read the various interviews they have been giving. 2. They obviously are not fearful of prison because, if they were, they would have remained in the U.S. or Europe or simply stayed out of politics. 3. Most of these people are well educated individuals with better than average jobs or personal businesses before joining politics and they still have those options open. Or as I have said before, they could have decided to seek asylum elsewhere, create a web site, unleash all sorts of angry rants, score high ratings and live off ads. So, obviously, they are not in need of jobs. (Isn’t he mocking his readers when he suggests that people like Dr. Yaeqob Hailemariam are in need of full time jobs that let them travel around the world?) 4. Lastly, their past and present records of integrity and continued willingness to put their lives at risk to carry out the promises they have made to stand for democracy proves beyond doubt that they are not a fake party created to give the ruling party legitimacy.
So, what exactly is Elias missing? Many important points. First, if Ginbot 7 ever succeeds in pressuring this government to dialogue or even remove it, we need a viable party that will sit at the other end of the table or be ready to compete for power. Ginbot 7 is not a political party; it is a movement. Its stated goal of bringing other parties and groups together, and the way it is structured at the moment prevent it from quickly transforming itself into a political party and joining the competition in case this government is removed or pressured to open the political space. Therefore, for that day, we need a political party that was established and maintained openly and democratically, not clandestinely like Ginbot 7. We need a party that has gone to every end of the country to organize members, promote democratic ideals, and amass members and their support. Furthermore, the culture of peaceful struggle is badly needed in our country and people deserve a chance to experience it, practice it, live it and see its result at the end. They deserve a chance to establish from scratch a democratic party that does business in a transparent way, carry it to victory and call themselves the primary stake holders. UDJ is our best shot to achieve these purposes.
Secondly, in order to achieve the above stated goals of establishing a party based on grassroots support, UDJ leaders must do all it takes – including walking on tip-toes around those criminals occupying our palaces – without going against the democratic stances of the party. They must do all their best to escape prison for one more day, and save their party from being denied existence for as long as possible. The more days they could spend outside prison, the more chance they have to take the party to all corners of the country and sew the seeds of democracy. Establishing the party and strengthening its roots is more important for the long term benefit of our cause than going to war over the denial of their meeting rights. It is more important than issuing daily statements criticizing the government over its non-endless flaws, mistakes and blunders. First, who can keep up with these things? Second, there is no point to them banging their heads on a wall over issues the entire world already knows. The question is what to do about it! Elias screams his lungs out at the government every day; what has happened? Under normal circumstances, if there was freedom, opposing political parties would criticize the incumbent party over all sorts of things to make clear to the public where they stand. In our case, it could take them to prison any day. I am not saying anything will save them from prison, but the longer they stay outside, the better it is for our cause in the long run. UDJ is saying we must refuse to quit in the face of injustice. That we must not allow these criminals to run us out of our country! We must refuse to admit that we are not smart enough to defeat them even with their guns held against our heads! And by God, we have got to be the luckiest people in the world that we have people like Bertukan Mideksa, Yaekob Hailemariam, Gizachew Shiferaw, Hailu Araya, etc…who are more than willing to put themselves at the fore front in this dangerous ride!
All those who want democracy, are objective, open minded and understand the complexity of politics cannot look at the issue of the two organizations as one or the other. I understand if people who are adamant about supporting the peaceful and peaceful alone path the UDJ follows disagree with Ginbot 7. However, those who support the latter cannot argue, based on any stated stance of the organization, that they disagree with or denounce the UDJ. In fact, their cause is best served by supporting it in all that is possible. If not for the methods they have chosen, the leaders of UDJ need to be supported and blessed for their personal commitment to the cause of democracy and their willingness to be on the ground serving it.
Elias has a lot of explaining to do as to the real motives of his actions. I think we have the right to know who is behind these endless attacks against people and organizations many Ethiopians hold so dear and find them to be important to the future of our nation. I personally am sick and tired of the Eliases, the Hailus, and the Tayes of the world working day and night to steal from my future and the future of my children, as if the evil doings of , the Meleses, the Berekets, and the Sebhats of the world isn’t enough! It is time that supporters of democracy stand up to these people, and stand up strong as much as they do against the latter! In fact, it is well over due!
As for the ease with which Elias disrespects, bad mouths and attacks the characters of people he has once praised or professed to respect, my mother would have called such a person “sid adeg, balege!” Wouldn’t yours?

AY diaspora! Minalebih/sh ante/anchi. You have little to contribute to this country development (ecocnomic or political). Please go and take action. Talking doesn’t help much to the starving people of Ethiopia.
Can someone tell me what is the difference between Ethiomedia and Aigaforum ?? Ethiomedia are the other side of woyanie no matter how hard they try to hide their hidden agenda . Ethiomedia’s interest is to replace MELES with the blood thirsty SIYE ABRHA and his alike .Elias they should not have any power to silence you . you are doing great. dont give in to their dirty and smearing type of propaganda . am sure you are a nightmare to them .give them the nightmare they deserve and let them wet their beds non stop .
Ephrem Madebo, sofar to the point guy. Elias recently out of touch and paranoid. Dont base your political solution on hate. Be pragmatist, not idealist.
We need two wings. paramilitary{Ginbot7} and nonmilitary{Birtukan’s party}
God bless
Good start Elias! But, I wouldn’t take it seriously unless you openly apologize and quit your negative and hatred driven politics you play on Ethiopia and Ethiopians and bow out from the press. I do not see your positive role and contribution in the political play ground. YIBEQAL ELIAS!
Elias,
I have read the article and the comments related with it. It appears to me that you, Elias, have made yourself one of the most disrespected bloggers of our time.
Last year about this time it was Elias’s high time whipping everybody and anybody whom your have been having different ideas with, but now as they say “every dog has his turn” it is our high time to keep whipping you, although it is too late.
Keep it up guys, and keep telling him what you think of his behaviors and actions, and keep asking him to apologize for his actions.
By the way guys, Ethiopian do not need Eritrean. As far as I am concerned I am not missing them. I wish they were never part of Ethiopia.
Elias STOP your ASSOCATION with the Eritrean dictator!!
Death to Meles!!! and Death to the Eritrean dictator whom Elias is assocated with.
ELIAS do yo know that propoganda is our main enemy for different opposition parties not to unite and librate the ethiopian people.please stop semeer campign.
Elias,
Thanks for taking the time for reading such good critics.
Also take few minutes and think why anybody would consider your ideas and opinoins superior and wiser than that of Prof. Mesifin, Gizachew Shifferaw, Hailu Arraya, Yacob Hailemariam, Mikias Abayaneh, Abdu Mengesha, and Birtukan Mideksa, and many ginouses and brave ethiopians who have proven themselves time and again,
Just because we live in states and know how to type, doesn’t make us a political gineous.
Thanks again
It is about time, this zombie by the name of Elias Kifle get his own pill of villification from the very public he patronized for quite a while. I never took Elias to be a journalist. He has always been a cheap tool who provided easy access to the enemies of Ethiopia. For me this development was long overdue, so, I say no surprise, that the rest of you found out about this despicable individual now. Rest in peace, Elias. I hope you learn something or just wither away where you belong… outside, the Ethiopian polity.
Who the hell are you telling me to slow down, punk?
Elias,
Wake up, this is for common goals; use it or loss it all.
I doubt if Elias would give a damn about such critisizm or for that matter about Ethiopia. Many have been trying to tell him to stop misinformation and attacking Ethiopians. Eithern he is a misgiuded stubborn immatured individual or a paid agent who is crowned by the devil to create chaos among Ethiopians.
It is amazing how many Weyane stooges are repeating their evil comments under different identifiers. Just check their IP addresses! You know, that is how these people survive, by cheating, stealing and denying. And Abraha Belay is just one of them who has the nerve to tell us how wonderful the criminal Siye Abraha was> That is total Mekelie crap!
Elias
abreha belay is just a trash I don’t know why we are wasting our time on this here. This guy is well known by the Eritrean people as one of their super enemies and Eritreans don’t give him any chance where ever they found him. This man is spending his time by looking for bad news about Eritreans to post it in his evil web site we know it. He is against meles just because he(meles) has blood from Eritera and In addition to that I think many Ethiopians fooled by him taking him as a beloved citizen the reason for that is this man is not against the tigray manifesto and its evil ideology never ever. The good knews is so many people already knows him and eventually he is going to be discarded like his keber ylesh(Amharic)fore fathers. Elias stayew weym stagegnew lebsehn aragfeh guzohen wedefit ketel.
Elias, when i see and recount your articels and opinions, either
1) you are mentally insane.
2) You do it intentionally with a covert agenda
3) You do it with extreme, unwise, untrained,or medival period thinking/tactcis to fight TPLF.
Please examine your self.
Furthermore, we had enough of TPLF’s legacy of ethinic haterage. You are allowing or making postage of ethenic
haterage .
Options:
If u r of case (1), u r living in this great country. You need to see a doctorb before it is too late.
if it is of (2), continue with what you are doing. if it is (3), please give your self a break. You do more damage to ethiopian politics than you contribution.
Elias is in need of an affirmative action for his actions so guys consider giving it to him.
Truth be told, Elias, with a simple stroke of his keys drives weyane sympathizers bonkers. I mean, look at the weyane defender Abraha Belay almost losing his mind because of Elias’ interview with ETN not too long ago. Even the interviewee, last month, was sweating bullets everytime Elias said anything about Eritrea.
Elias give the vampires what scares them the most:
Eritrea is to weyane, as garlic is to the vampires!!
Shaebia is to weyane,….just as Garlic is to Vampire!
The blood sucking vampires from dedeb-bit are in a frantic state. You can tell that Abraha Belay is shocked when Elias announced that Shaebia’s help is warranted to depose the regime in Addis.
Elias, hammer these snakes back into their holes please.
Elias why are you target of this ethiomedia weebsite, for me they are not true website. becasue i dont know big diference they have with weyane weebsite. you tell the truth about what is hapening in Etiopia. that is why i come here all of the time. ethiomedia is nothing comparing to ethiopianreview.
please elias continu what yu are doing. we love and God bless you.
free mama Etiopia from weyane buchers. thankyou
According to Elias Ethiopian problems are its old people with their feudalistic thinking. To me Elias is not a young person, and his attitude and thinking pattern are the same as the feduals he try to tell us. So, the rise and the fall of Elias is his feudalistic thinking.
Down to feudalistic Elias as I say down to Meles!!!

A MUST READ ARTICLE FOR ETHIOPIANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Adapt or Perish
By Burhan Ali – Jun 23, 2008
SOURCE: awate.com
On the 29th day of May 2008, the renowned Egyptian commentator and analyst, Mohammed Hassanain Heikel, was invited to be a guest speaker to the Egyptian judges in their club in Cairo. The forum took the form of predictions and projections of what may happen in the next few years in the Arab world and the changes expected. His predictions, in the aftermath, drew extensive attention and responses, mostly positive, from different media outlets. The Arabic based websites where rife with news and comments about the forum and the predictions made by the guru there. But, from the fewer negative reviews the forum received, it was the Sudanese websites and newspapers which were most excited and critical of the man. Why were the Sudanese unhappy? What does his prediction about Sudan tell us about Eritrea—and what can, and should, we do to prepare for it?
It is worthwhile to note here, that Mr. Heikel is not a light-headed young journalist in search of a journalistic scoop. He has a professional reputation beyond reproach and he has lived to see many of his predictions of the past materialize. So when he speaks, people pay attention.
Heikel’s Prediction
Mr. Heikel indicated and argued that Sudan is now entering into a stage of a series of painful surgical operations. His words:
“I am sorry to say it, but the crisis in Sudan is one of complexity which was left for long with no serious attempts to solve, because the state there believed that ethnic and national divisions can be solved through the use of military subjugation, and this, simply, was not correct. Problems were neglected for long decades. Due to this and other factors, the Sudan cannot possibly survive in its current geopolitical form, especially if we take into account that Sudan was created by forcing and stitching together inherently discordant and jarring constituents to form the hinter land of the aborted Egyptian Nile Empire of Mohammed Ali, the 19th century Pasha and ruler of Egypt.”
Mr. Heikel further predicted that Sudan is heading towards a dark future and will break up into four parts: the Arab North will be appended to Egypt, he said; the West to Chad; the South to Kenya and Uganda and the East to Ethiopia and Eritrea.
Of course, the anger expressed by the Sudanese is understood, given the predictions and the shock it carries with, including the perceptions associated with abrupt changes and upheavals, a state which can be described only as staring into the eyes of the abyss. However, it seems that the Sudanese critics focused on the man rather than examining or pointing weaknesses and faults in the reasoning which leads to his predictions. It also seemed that they were only expressing the fact that they hate what he said regardless of its validity.
What If Heikel Is Right?
Only time will tell if events will unfold as predicted by Mr. Heikel, yet, the ideas he presented deserve a think-over by interested Eritreans which may seem to some as only an intellectual exercise, while, in reality, it is a ventage to peep through on a possible future among other possibilities for the entire region.
To many, what is written here-above may look far-fetched, like a fairy tale, but before thinking ill of it, one may well do visiting few universities’ websites–to the ones who take interest in the Horn of Africa and are addicted to preparing geopolitical blue prints which magically emerge to life, somewhere ahead in time. Only then, you may see how very realistic this may look.
If what Mr. Heikel predicted comes true in the manner he described, then this may be distressing and paradoxical to Eritrea, as it will find itself at the focus point of three competing nationalistic movements with universal claims: The Eritrean National Movement, The Greater Tigrai National movement, and the Beja National movement. The only way these movements may coexist is only in a confederation, I would think, but, such an arrangement may only be a dream, a Nirvana of sorts.
Who Benefits?
There is also, here, another effect which could be, as well, a possible motivational source for the predictions of the pundit. It is possible that he was expressing (consciously or otherwise) the wishes and dreams of an Empire, himself being part and parcel of the imperial past of Nasser’s regime. Egypt’s imperial ambitions were broken down on the Sinai peninsula some forty years ago, when the Egyptian army, in a lightning strike by the Israelis, lost what is now dubbed as the six days war. That war effectively brought an end to Egyptian ambitions eastwards to the oil fields of Arabia and the Gulf where other, more powerful interests, emerged victorious and favored reducing Egypt to what you may call now an empire in tatters.
Throughout history, it was demonstrated, time and again, going as far back as ancient Egypt, that when ways to the east are blocked on the face of this Imperialism-yearning country, it takes upon itself to compensate for that, by facing south towards the sources of the Nile and the never-ending failure of Empire building is repeated. In the nineteenth century, this dream was killed and buried under the hills and plains of Gundet and Gura’a in present day Eritrea, when the Egyptian army of Ratib Pasha, led by American mercenaries and veterans of the American civil war, was annihilated by Yohannes IV of Ethiopia and the crown prince of Egypt had literally to run for his life.
But that did not stop Egypt’s facing south to the Nile sources in the Ethiopian highlands and the lake regions of central Africa. It was in this context that Sadat, early in 1980, provided weapons and even sent his Air Forces later in intervention for the benefit of the regime of Mobutu in the Zaire.
Thus, the all-winning party in Mr. Heikel’s scenario, though he didn’t say it, is Egypt. It will have extended itself south towards its Imperial dreams bringing it in direct border tangency with Ethiopia at the foot of the water tower in an era where wars of water and resources are becoming the all-too-common-wars, and escalating. It would bring Uganda and Kenya to the same fate in the shadows of the Empire, so close to the lakes region. This will be even more probable that the population of Egypt will cross 110 million.
If it is decided at one point of time that such an outcome is for the benefit of Eritrea and its deliverance, then when its time comes, Eritreans should push towards the objective, seeking and achieving what is the the best for them only. After all, we must have, by now, learned from our Sudanese brethren the principles of pragmatism. Adopt or perish: it is the game of life and death.
And Who To Befriend?
Related to this matter but in an indirect fashion, is the question that this writer is haunted with: why is it that the tyrant of Eritrea, in all his clumsiness, wins diplomatically in places where the opposition parties are supposed to excel? The answer to this, but one is not sure, is that the dictator’s approach is that of creating alternatives to any option he wants to take. He is expert at creating such dire and frightening alternatives that choosing him appears to be the most prudent. Why can’t we do that? We can do it even much better and more efficient. Why can’t we learn from the despot himself?
The Eritrean Democratic alliance is now required to re-invent itself. It is required to come up with new visions. What, for instance, prevents our democratic alliance of approaching the Israeli state, assure them of our goodwill and court for their neutrality if not friendship? No venue should be left for the tyrant’s monopoly, it is only pragmatic, and Eritreans should not fail in that, if they want to survive the tyrant.

A caption that reads in the corner of BS-media (ethiomedia):
” Ethiomedia is blocked in Ethiopia”
Who do they think they are foolin with a ‘bait’ like that. When EthiopianReview was banned in Ethiopia, it was weyane’s way of muffling the Ethiopian people…..but when they ‘banned'(wink wink) BS-media(ethiomedia)..that was a dedeb-bit’s attempt at a calculated move to lump their trojan horse among the truelly independent media in the diaspora.
Dont be fooled anyone…Ethiomedia is in co-hoots with aiga and walta.
Hi Elias,
you should reply to these weynae vultures and shut them up once and for all. This Ethiomedia website is none-other than a puppet for weyane and his vultures. He is trying to ruin your image among true Ethiopians.
Well thats not gonna happen. The Ethiopian people are sure of one thing: Elias Kifle loves his country because he’s giving it all he’s got. If a man is ready to sacrifice his his future and stand up for what he beliebves then that is a sign of a ‘true MAN.’ Not a traitor like this Ethiomedia guy.
Please Elias reply to theses ‘mahayims’ and shut them up for ever!
Peace to Ethiopia!
Does Elias kifle that we know :-) ready to accept a constructive criticizm ??? I doubt that _good luck Mr Writer .. his Version of Ethiopian Tabloids (Ethiopian review) never place the news as they were suppose to he seem to have his own style of news and Fictions -up to we can not diffrenciate them-i admire him for his originality :-) I sure hope he learned this time round
I am Eritrean!!
First of all; We Eritrean are not wishing to the Ethio ppl distraction,war,starvation…..etc no no never. We wish to the Ethio ppl peace, love, unity, prosperity…etc even to Sudan and Dijiboti.

Should we allow Afeworki to liberate us from Zenawi?
By Elias Abebe | June 23, 2008
I decided to write this piece in support of Ephrem Madebo’s recent comments posted on your website with regard to Ethiopian Review’s most recent move to try and destruct the peaceful but bumpy ride to bring some semblance of democracy in our country.
Right from the outset , ER has been relentlessly sabotaging every effort that was being put to effect democratic changes by opposition groups in Ethiopia. From openly supporting and arguing in favour of the cold blooded massacre of innocent Ethiopian civilians by Shabia-backed Somali separatists in the eastern part of our country over year ago to instigating elementary school children to take on ruthless state security forces with stones, Ethiopian Review has caused incalculable damage to the eventual weakening of the Kinjit-led struggle.
ER’s often uncorroborated and fictional accusations have spared almost no one in the opposition camp. Having followed reports on this rather unprofessionally run website over the past two years and a half, I can recall Professor Mesfin having been reported dead and Hailu Shawel losing his sight following beatings by Zenawi’s henchmen. Only to shamelessly pay homage today, ER at one point viciously attacked Dr Berhanu Nega as a TPLF spy whose leadership was weakening the Kinjit movement. In one incredibly outrageous ‘editorial’ note , ER’s ‘editor’ called on the Kinjit executive committee to grant Hailu Shawel emergency sweeping powers to make all decisions on behalf of the organisation. Of all the arrogant and almost always daft comments ER published, the one that clearly exposed the website as a mere Shabia appendage was the inclusion in a sham man of the year popularity poll of Ethiopia’s worst enemy in the last half century. The pro-Shabia editor of ER unashamedly almost crowned Isayas Afeworki as a man who has done the most commendable job for Ethiopia in 2007. Now what Ethiopian would in their sane mind call Isayas a do-gooder to anything remotely Ethiopian !!
That wasn’t the end of it, in an interview with EthiopiaFirst’s Ben several months ago , ER’s editor made this insulting attempt to educate the audience about how the Shabia fought 30 long years only to reaffirm its true place in one Ethiopia and how the TPLF sabotaged the Shabia’s desire to remain Ethiopian. In fact, he went on to argue that the likes of Herman Cohen (the former US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs) could give their testimonies about how it was under TPLF’s influence and against the will of the then EPLF (Shabia) Eritrea was seceded. Further expounding his deeply flawed argument, ER’s editor took the interview as an opportunity to outline the economic disadvantages of discontinuing the unfair (to Ethiopia) trade relations with the Shabia. Personally none of what he said during the interview upset me more than his utterly insane remark about how the two countries could mutually benefit if Ethiopia flung open its market for the cheap cottage industry products from Eritrea.
Knowing what I know about Ethiopian Review and its destructive political activism , I don’t have much doubt that more harm will continue to be done to the painstaking endaevour and sacrifice many brave Ethiopians are paying to bring about democratic change in our country. Whatever the direction of the struggle, I don’t think Ethiopians, with any political persuasions, will ever trust Afeworki to liberate them from Zenawi, despite the adage the enemy of my enemy is my friend. It is too obvious in this case that both are sworn enemies of Ethiopia. We Ethiopians are not that fool and don’t suffer from short memory!!
Ato Elias, I’m pleasantly surprised to find Ato Madebo’s remarks here on ER. Mat be this is a bit of a sign that you are still open to grow and exploit your skills to the ebenfit of Ethiopia. I say this because after coming to your website for several years as my first stop for news about Ethiopia, I must admit to you I’ve increasingly found it not just uncfortable but ourtight upsetting to see ER’s denigration and villification of those you disagree with. Take these criticisms to heart and try to be a more effective reporter. ER is very confused about whether it’s a source of objective news or a your personal pulpit to advance often mistaken and simple exhortations tah tonly seem to end alientating sensible readers, undermining the crediblity of your ER and yours as well. I think ATo Madebo has done an excellent job of giving you a useful analysis of ER and you. Take it to heart…and by the way…I’d suggest to you to read the many eulogies for the recently departed and most admired and loved Mr. tim Russell as someone you might learn a few things from… this in particular is a great one…

Thanks Ato Madebo
It appears weyane paid cadres are bringing forth the garbage they ate this morning.
Elias, please apply a little more pressure on these stooges that try and tear Ethiopia apart. What we need now is a united voice that will help us evict weyane from the horn for good. We dont need issues that divert our attention from the primary goal at hand: weyane’s end of brutal rule! We will work with anyone that assists us to bring Woyanne down!
Thank you so much Ato Ephrem:
We have been informed him everytime posting some sort of news or discussion points. However, instead of shape himself for the better he refused even to post our comment. It was happened to us not because our point was worthless but it was against his point of view. Following that immediately lebelling will continue by saying woyane, hailu’s supporter and soon.
We have doubt about his professionalism and judgement at all.
You give him another chance if he is able to use it otherwise he will stay as stone instead of salt.
Thanks,
Toronto
What is all this bickering going to bring for Ethiopia in he end? NOTHING!
Ethiopians, be wary of these ‘so-called’ supporters of the Ethiopian struggle…. It is obvious they are supporters of weyane because these lam bashing of Elias comes from the frustration Elias caused them when he proposed armed struggle in co-ordination with the help of Eritrea.
They are now directy attacking Elias, the only guy who stood up for our country when our brothers were being slaughtered in the streets of Addis.
They dont know it but they are exposing themselves; showing that they get direction from the dedbitans based in aigaforum and walta (fota).
Just stay focused on your work Elias…ethiomedia is already thrown in the garbage of history…weyane will soon follow into its own dustbin of history.
Ethiopia will soon be FREE!

Elias,
You are a true son of Ethiopia. Your love for Ethiopia is something no-one can deny. You put yourself in harms way facing Ethiopia’s# 1 problem, weyane, HEAD ON! I admire that, because we seriously need you in these hard times. You have found the real ingredients that gives weyane restless days and nights. Your suggestion for armed struggle coupled with available support from Eritrea is giving weyane in Menelik palace a medicated sleep with a daunting future. I bet you, since your last interview on ETN, the weyane stooges have been losing weight hard. Do not stop what you are doing now Elias, we are almost at the end. weyane’s rule is going to be no more!
Elias,
i am so proud if yu have idea? pleas dont warry about ethiomedia they are full of stupids. they rather help weyane not true ethiopian like you and me. I hope you will answer to this idiot riter. becose he dosnt know nothing
i am proud of you
death to weyane
Long live Ethiopia!
Hi Elias,
I have been following your site for quite sometime now. Even though I am usually reserved with making comments, I cannot just sit idly by when one of our own, true Ethiopian, is coming under fire from this chigaram weyane supporters.
That is all they are, a bunch of goons with protecting weyane’s future at the forefront of their objectives.
Never mind these losers, just concentrate on your good work and continue to torment these soulless individuals. They are trying to mask themselves as truth bearers, when in actual fact we are very aware of their evil motives are to weaken your position and mute your roaring message.
Its too late for them now..the tides are turning in the horn. Ethiopians, Eritreans Somalians all know who is the single soul enemy of the horn: it is weyane!!
Ethiopians will choose whatever course is necessary to depose the military junta of weyane meles zerawi.
Keep up the good work.
Greetings from Alemayehu & Family (Boston)
There seems something is wrong with Elias. Or it seems like Elias has matured and has changed. For example, I have sent him several articles and blogged several comments that have different perspective than him, but he never entertained them. And I heard other people saying he has never posted comments or articles that have different view than him.
But note now he is allowing pro and against his perspectives articles and comments to be posted on his website with out censorship. It seems like Elias has CHANGED for good!!!
When I sent him articles at times he called me Woyanne. At other time he called feudal Hailu Shawel supporter. At other time he called me pro Berhanue. And lately he has started calling me pro UJDP.
Who is Elias? Is he Feudal? Or is he Communist? For sure he is not democrat!!!
It is amazing to read that a considerable number of those who commented on this article and some more out there believe that Meles is and has been working for Eritrea. After 17 years and especially after the events of the last 10 years there are still people who believe that Meles is an Eritrean agent????
It is disheartening to learn that Ethiopians do not still understand their problems. It should have been clear by now that Meles is working for Western Powers, for his party and for himself.
Lengisaw
Our brothers are suffering back home and all you guys do is bicker. What good is it to tear each other up by waging war on another website, when you all can easily join forces and pit battle against the meles’ regime.
I am baffled by the response ethiomedia is engaging for Elias’ endeavor to get rid of weyane once and for all. Elias is 100% right when he has consistently said that,..”.we need to join forces with any one who is willing to help us get rid of weyane from power..”
We Ethiopians, I think need to put our pride aside, cause its obviously clouding our judgment. The change is a fundamental one, and I can see that people are grasping the idea of cooperating with Eritrea. It makes total sense to me. Not to mention an instant runny bowels for zenawi!! Jokes aside, all we need is a little push from the respective leadership in the diaspora, and that will accelerate the ongoing domino effect.
God Bless Ethiopia!
Elias Berta. you are right. Brtukan is FAKE. She is another cover for Weyanes. She is shameless to try to change kinjit’s name.
I am very sorry about the article Dr. Ephrem Madebo
I have a question for you Dr. Ephrem, Are you sure Abraham belay’s web site is a pure Ethiopian people advocate website as he introduce himself he a typical woyane member for a his personal and group interest he was against with present leader of woyane memeber, but now evrything is clear his mition to reform the woyane group by Gebru Asrat and Seye Abrah. You must know this clear idea before you throw a negative atitiued on ER. Did you agree with Abraham’s chioce. The Ethiopian people need a radical change. The Ethiopian people need the real person who has national interest. Abraham and his fellow are struggled for the Tigrian republic did you have doubt on this issue. Please try to do your investigation.
When you are writting about balancing what do you mean did you want compromise with woyane. Please think as an intellectual before you say something. If you have a plan to built somthing in addis ababa you can do evrything by yourself don’t try to distort the attitude of the real son of Ethiopian vanguard like Elias.
Lengisaw,
Yes Meles is an Eritrean. He wrote books on why Eritrea should seceed from Ethiopia. He sent thousands of Tigre youth to their death to “liberate” Eritrea. He shot and slashed Ethiopians on the streets of Addis because they opposed Eritrean seceesion. He imposed Mussolini’s ethnic bantustan on the Ethiopian people to kill any Ethiopian sovreignity and love. He and Sebhat still talk how they will defend Eritrea to death. Anybody who talks good about Ethiopia is the enemy, anybody who talks good about Eritrea will be promoted. The Ethiopian people know the truth. The Ethiopian people will in the end get rid of him and wipe Ethiopia clean of any Eritrean. Eritreans are the most hateful people in the face of the Earth. They lie to their teeth, they raise their kids with hatred about Ethiopians. They wish the destruction of Ethiopia day and night,. Any one who wants to destroy Ethiopia they feed. We will never forget the Ethiopia flag that they step on at Asmara stadium, not 1993, but 2006. It will be avenged. Spare us Weyanae this Weyane that. The problem is not Weyanae, but leftover Eritreans inside Weyanae. You know the brother in laws of Ekekam Sebhat Ephrem, ye Italian wusha, Amara mewagat atechelem yalechewa. Yagerae sew yewega beresa, yetewega ayeresam yelal. Eritreans we know you guys. We grew up with you, you did not just arrive from planet Venus. You like to talk big. And since 1991, you even got a big excuse, to even talk more. But I can assure you, if the sons of Welde Mikael kehadi from Hazega could find it in themselves to be called human beings, do not think the sons of Keneaa Kirsho Sahle Selassie, will not find it too, and liberate their country from this blood sucking keffafay hateful occupation imposed upon them by Hamassien liars.
Ye mata mata ewente yereta. Ethiopia will be free, the Ethiopian people will once again be adminstered by an Ethiopian, and Eritrea will in the end cease to exist.
SHEWA
what a shame to have that much hatred towards us Eritreans. if people like never exists on this planet the people of this world would have been living peacefully, including Eritreans and Ethiopians. but unfortunately people like you, siye abrha, abrha belay exists. any way what ever amharic wards you try to use, and decorating your nick with “SHEWA”,the Eritrean and Ethiopian people can read beyond your nick and your amharic bla bla bla .people are now more advanced and sophisticated than your imagination to read your brain and expose your skeleton on their head what kind of person or to what political group you stand for, just by what you wright and say . so “showa” come out of your shell and show your true DEDEBIT face.at this time and age most Amharas Somalis,Eritreans,Ogadenians and the rest of Ethiopian people don’t dance around the tune you are singing. it is not very long when the DEDEB from DEDBIT Siye abrha ,gebru asrat, and meles , have killed a vast amount of young Ethiopians in the name of BADIME on the Eritrean soil. the memory is still fresh in Ethiopia and Eritrea minds.the blood of this young innocent Ethiopians and Eritreans still dripping from sye’s hands.and it is abrha belay who is jumping up and down to support the blood thirsty sye abraha and trying to discredit Elias kifle . SHEWA and you mention the people of HAMASSIEN that only exposes you that you are hard core tigrayan than a true Ethiopian. coz me as an AMICHIE growing in ADDIS there is one fact that i know and that is, the AMHARAS no mater where they come from they don’t go that far to divide people on their least race. actually to them any tigrigna speaker whether Ertirean or tigrayan is simply “TIGRE” this all is to expose your tigray marrow. you cant hide under any skirt no matter how large the skirt is could be (JENDAYE FRAZRE’S)when a one day old child reads your post can sense that it is siye, gebru asrat or abrha belay who are talking. so pleas stop your BURAKEREYO in Amharic. and shewa let me assure you one thing the brave people of Eritrea and Ethiopia will work together to get rid off the bandits from tigray once and for all. in fact woyanie is dead clinically if it was not for the constant infusion from the American administration. peace and light to brave people of Ethiopia and Eritrea.peace is just on the corner to those GOD fearing people. and woyanie will b thrown to its last destination which is the mekelle cemetery. and finally SHEWA don’t be ashamed yourself if that is all what DEDEBIT can show , show yourself.
It is very surprising to see my fellow Ethiopian attacking Elias this much, you are just making the woyannes very happy, I am one of the people who have differences with Elias regarding many issues that he believes in but I have never doubted his love for his country and I know for real that he is dedicated to stop woyannes and see Ethiopia with better rulers, he has once supported Lidetu regardless of criticizms after that he has corrected himself and never trusts anyone which is good, we need someone like Elias to expose dirty politicians within us and to scare the others not to open their pockets for woyanne’s bribe to sell out Ehiopians, imagine the politicians of Ethiopia without ER, everything would have been secret and we would have been sold over and over again. The other thing is that, please stop insulting Ethiopian ethnic groups, specially Tigreans, there are many Tigre Ethiopians who are against the woyanne regime and who are willing to get rid of them, regarding about the Shabia’s, we can never ever trust them and it surprises me to see Elias who has been an arch enemy of Shabia back in the days when Ethiopian Review used to be printed in LA, now seeking the help of Shabia, I don’t know if this is a smart tactic but I know something for sure, I don’t have the experience of Elias and other Ethiopians dedicated to overthrow woyanne for many many years, so God help you guys but my instinct tells me that Shabias can not be trusted. Regarding about Elias’ ethinic background, I know that he is from the Amhara tribe, we have met several times when he used to live in LA like around a decade ago.
Thanks for the time.
Mr.Elias a while ago i wrote a comment about you calling names to any indivisual or group is not a noble character of an Ethioipian culutre. However, for the likes of ETHIO(WEYANE MEDIA) please donot give a flip about what they said. What do you expect from Abraha Belay & Co. his main purpose of having the web page is serving MLLT at its best. I read a comment an Eritrean ask why is Abraha Belay hate so much Eritrean and Eritrea? I will tell you the reason later. I my self back in 1991 i hate the fact that Eritrea is becoming another country. I grew up with Eritreans i befrinded and i spend many nights at their house hold and i can say i do know Eritreans very well. Ato Belay the diference b/n your ppl and Eritreans is the same diference b/n DAY & NIGHT. So, your hatered cultivates long ago while your parents were candle holders for Eritrean highlanders or Hamasiens. You grew up eating their left overs and so on. This is pay back time for and his likes Seyoum mesefen, seye abraha and gebru asrat. Mr. Elias please keep informing us a news and do not worry about the weyane wolves.
Good Job ! Elias,
Look all the woyanes/tigrayans even Meles himself have anxiety, when the truth is comming out.they hired Madebo to pretend the Ethiopians are against you ,but every Ethiopian
knows the Woyanes hidden agenda to build Tigray.

You sound like an Eritrean that gives wrong advice to Elias. In my opinion the the Ethiomedia editor is much more professional than the Eritrean review editor. As a matter of fact, the two editors I mentioned above cannot be compared since the ER editor is low class.
Elias is o the path of destroying weyane, what he needs from us is support. Without support to Elias we are just as bad as the weyanes and their supporters who write nonsense to discredit our brother.
These morons still think they can fool people. It is not your time anymore weyanes. Your end is imminent, you had a chance but you seriously messed up in the horn. We have had enough of your lies and constant fabrications and distortion of the truth. You lied to us every time you opened your mouths. Each and every time you told us we won, or when you say we have had development or economic growth… IT IS ALL A LIE! No more will the Ethiopian people be duped into thinking that. You are exposed for the whole world to see! Game Over! Let the healing of Ethiopia begin with the timely exit of weyane from power!
