By Tesfa-Alem Tekle, Sudan Tribune

(ZALAMBESA) — Ethiopian Woyanne and Eritrean forces on Monday fought for about one hour on north Ethiopian Tigray region’s Zalambesa front on a specific place called Anbeset Geleba, military official said.

The clash comes after Eritrean forces approach Ethiopian border to return back two farmers who earlier to the clash fled to Ethiopian border driving 2 tractors, said Birhanu Hagezom, military chief of a regiment at Zalambesa front.

Ethiopian Woyanne forces were forced to be engaged on a defensive military attack as the Eritrean solders continue attacking our military barracks using the incident of the fleeing Eritrean farmers as a means” Birhanu told reporters.

Birhanu rejected on some reports saying 2 Ethiopian Woyanne solders were killed on the clash.

“Our forces were not exposed to the attack but they were defending from their military barracks” he said adding “No soldier has died or injured from our side but the Eritrean forces were strike back with a heavy loss”. He said.

Some unconfirmed source from the battle area said that 5 Eritrean and 2 Ethiopian Woyanne solders have died while 7 Eritrean solders surrender as the result of the clash.

  1. Woyane should leave the Eritrean territories it occupies. That is the only way out of this sporadic military engagements. The Permanent Court of Arbitration under The Hague Court has ruled over the border as Final & Binding. There is no reason for the two impoverished countries to go to war, the border is clearly known and virtually demarcated. All that is left is for Woyane to allow the UN Cartographers to come and put the pilars.

  2. Here we go again these irresponsible, spoiled and damn creatures trying to spark another war that going to consume incalculable human life and huge resources from the mouth of millions already starving babies, children, mothers and old Ethiopians and Eritreans population in both countries.

This is unprecedented anywhere in the world, leaders who totally out of any human sense, playing with human life like in the table game.
The time will come they will be brought to justice, when the whole world finally say enough is enough, like in the case of Saddam Hussein.

ANYTHING HAVE ITS OWN COURSE AND DUE TIME

WE CAN WAIT FOR THAT DAY

  3. No, it’s Weyane haset as usual! These people live in NEVER telling the truth. Not that a war may not be fought, but the way these thugs exagerate is is beyond belief.

  4. weyanes are so dumb! it can not even win a rag tag army in somalia how on earth will defeat shabia army armed with surface to surface missiles, MIG21,23,29,31 and SU27 fighting jets and a proffessional army numbered more than 300k…i think its demise is nearing. Like the previous war, ethiopians will not be fooled to rally behinmd those dedebit rats that ate its own children in the streets of Addis Abeba. I think weyanes are heading to the logical conclusion and ended up being dumped in the ethiopian history recyling bin!!

  5. This is just minor beginning to the major clash which definitely result in unimaginable bloodshed between the two enemes.

Funny! it was delayed for unknown reason for the two foes would have been in heated battle, God knows how many would have been killed.

The most awaited battle of the enemies soon will errupt like volcano.

  6. I guess if weyane has to survive they must kill, kill, start wars left and right. Their calculation of any war is simple: Ethiopia posses nearly 80 million people and we can afford to slaughter as much as possible as we did with the first war with Eritrea! Remember they haven’t disclosed yet on how many were slaughtered on the first war with Eritrea or the coninuation of the slaughtering in Somalia!

  7. What is woyane trying to prove? The border case is settled, FINAL and BINDING. The Dedebit gangs are now mauled by self created multiple local fronts determined to eradicate the beggers from the face of the earth. As the proverb says “Let no grass grow after I die says donkey”. Woyanes have the same tendency, therefore they must be stopped once and for all by all the armed groups and the mighty SHAEBIA too.
