  1. He wrote it two years ago eko, Gizesh.

I just love reading Andy’s comments on everything. Not just because they are articulate and passionate, but because they show in depth research and knowlegde, as well.

Elias, since ER is the website that is frequently Visited by Ethiopians all over the world, you should post the whole 60 page document or the link somewhere in here. People really need to read it.

Andy, you are the MAN! There was a time that I doubted your motive after I read your first book.. but after reading your second book and especially after getting a live explanation from you (in one of the public meetings you and Birhane Mewa used to have in the US- you said it was a knee jerk reaction :) ), I am a big fan of your writings. Please please, don’t be discouraged with all the name bashing by these anti-democracy gangs around. Write more, research more, and challenge more!!!

  2. Good analysis. I still believe Hailu is the problem. The rest were doing superb job. The analysis would help them as a constractive guide. I wish Engineer Hailu exit gracefully now.

  3. Truthful and realistic analysis. I guess the Ethiopia people were demanding CUD to be one voice. No body cared about the existance of EDPA-Medhin, AEUP , EDL or rainbow. Instead of ” Ye malya fiker” a one visoned party where everybody has equal voice. HS is the old style where no body wants him anymore. We need visionaries who respect a united CUD with one man one vote. No veto to chairman .

  4. His name “ANDARGACHEW” (= Make Them One, Unite Them) was prophetic some 50-something years ago. Whoever named him, was a Nebiy. He is the one who will unite all Ethiopians and creat the first United Democratic Ethiopia. May God bless him more…

  5. ATO Andargachew ‘kEDAR HONO METECHET BECHA SAYHONE’ We need action like what birtukan, eyuel, Eng.Gizachew, Dr brahanu and the like are doing, try to work with them after all we are dealing with a very complicated issue what we Ethiopian luck is ‘METEGBAR’ comments, suggestion and reasonable critics are not good enough try to do your own part at least for what you have wrote ‘ AWAKIMA MOLTONAL’
    LONG LIVE KINIJIT

  6. Ato Andargachew,

I read the 15 page article and I just browsed through the 60 page article.I am sure it is a very important document (the 60 page) and is based on a study. I am afraid not so many people will read it for the following 2 reasons:

    1. It is long
    2. It is long
    3. It is long

    My solutions to you:
1.Break it down into 3 parts of 20 pages or 4 parts of 15 pages.

    2. Also try to avoid underlining the text. It decreases the readablity.

    3. Use a boldface font or a different color to emphasise some concepts. Do not highlight too much text by underlining or by anything else.

  7. Intercepted E-mail — KIC’s anti-Kinijit Activity

    Dear Dr. Taye

We need to come up with a political analysis statement under KIC in Amharic on what the delegation is doing and what they are planning. There are enough heads present here to come with a response to the Open Letter to Ato Hailu( 7) page, to Birtukan’s Minnesota statement and to Birhanu’s VOA interview.

We need to show that we can deal with political games if we do not we will show weakness this is a serious matter. KNA always played dead, zemeta was the choice. We cannot have KIC ending up toothless. This is a serious matter something should be done all minds should come together and come up with an Amharic analysis this is their final show we need to hit them and hit them hard and it should be read on both radios. Please get Shalequa Admassu and Ato Bedru into this and of course Tekle. This needs to be done ASAP.

  8. IT seems a reasonable assesment are given by Andargachew .What I don’t see is that those who blame The kinjit Chairman where they get any thing negative from the above article. The article simply state even if there is a problem take it to the fullhouse and let the house decide to choose the new chairman when the current chairmanship of Eng Hailu time expair. But trying to unseat the current chairman with unfound alegation, fabricated false acusation is adisaster.STOP blaming CHAIRMAN HAILU let him to do what he is electd for to lead the kinijit,Give him a chance to perform his duty. This honerable Man is on call of duty,IF you know what I mean. The Ethiopian PEOPLE must not forget there still thousands of people are still suffering in woyane prison all over the country. That is where the focus out to be,the heroes gave their life and others are in the brutal woyane prison we must rise our voice to get them rsleased as soon as possible the time is not the time we point fingers to each other rather it is the time of unity more than any other time in our countrys history.GOD BLESS CHAIRMAN HAILU SHAWEL.GOD BLESS ETHIOPIA

  10. I think we should be careful what we say about Chairman (Eng.) Hailu Shawel. Hailu is a gentleman and a true Ethiopian patriot. Do you remember when he was campaigning for office he even went to Tigrai to campaign. That needed guts. I know Hailu from the days when we were both in elementary school and High school. I remember Hailu always with a big smile and no nonesense and a fearless kid. I also remember him as a a grownup building his career as a in business and as a government official. In both fields he was a complete success. Although I did not have a direct contact with him for at least twenty years and partcularly for sixteen years during the reigns of the Dergue, he was one of the first people I went to see at his office on my return to Ethiopia. Again I found him to the be the perfect gentleman I expected him to be. He was willing to help and be a friend but I did not need anything from him except his encouragement and he gave it to me in abundance.

Gentlemen, in time Hailu will find out out what ever is wrong in the Kinijit partyand believe me he will correct it and come clean for the sake of Ethiopia.
Litening to all the media and the supposed journalists and some other fools who are working day and night to break up theunion between Hailu, Birtukan and Berhanu Nega or any of the other major players of kinijit. I have not yet heard any serious accustions against each other that is so serious that will prevent them from working together. I believe that people must have some kind of misunderstanding before they see each other in different lights and become true friends after that. I guess it helps see exactly what the other party is made off. Therefore please let us leave them alone to clear their misunderstandings. If after that they cant work together they can take their different ways and still work for mother Ethiopia. If they overcome their problems they will be one of the first Ethiopian partners who manage to work together. What ever the out come they don’t have to insult each other and become enemies. Let’s give them a break.

  11. Dear Ato Andargachew,
Thank you for the ‘organisational theory and structure’ document which I read with interest. I was wondering if the suggested power to be vested in the leader of the party (page 57 last para), ie forming of a cabinet by a single person will not pave the ground for that individual to select cronies and amass power (see what Blair did in the UK!). Would it not create more accountability if the general assembly chose cabinet members in an open and transparent process? OR some other mechanism? Thank you.
