ETHIOPIA (Garowe Online) – Several of civilian and commercial vehicles are stuck along the Somali-Ethiopian border following deadly battles between {www:Woyanne} regime troops and {www:ONLF} fighters in the Ogaden region of Ethiopia, Radio Garowe reports.
The fighting in Mustahil district, in eastern Ethiopia’s Somali-inhabited region, killed at least 25 people and wounded scores last week.
In response, the Woyanne army deployed hundreds of troops backed by military trucks to the area along the border near Somalia’s Hiran region, local sources reported.
Commercial truck drivers who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed that the movement of civilian and commercial vehicles has come to a standstill, as Woyanne soldiers prepare to engage ONLF fighters.
Woyanne troops also cut off an important road that links Mustahil district to Fer Fer district, which serves as a major Woyanne army base and a crucial point for civilian and commercial traffic traveling between Ethiopia and Somalia.
The Woyanne regime has not commented on the ongoing military operations.
Woyanne troops have been accused of committing war crimes against ethnic Somalis in the vast Ogaden region.

Mustahil is an almost inhabitant-free border post. The government must be in disarray to a point similar to the last days of the previous blood sucking regime of Mengistu to make this capture and retention happen. This is what you get when a society loses its sense and is dominated by thieves and connivers on top and faceless liars trying to present themselves on the opposite side. It resembles the dreamed up news used to be spewed around by folks of so-called liberators of my Oromo people in the 90’s and the now defunct EDU in the 70’s. EDU propagandists used to tell us they were just a stone throw away from capturing Addis Abeba and those fabricators who now live in plush mansions in Minneapolis used to claim more than once that they had the biggest gun with a target range in hundreds of miles aimed at Addis (Finfine). Kkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!! What make these two different from these guys around ONLF is that EDU and OLF’s claims used to be passed around as rumors. Heck!!! EDU used to tell us that they were backed by the USA Marines and were rushing unopposed toward the capital when actually they were being taken apart by the very small and ragtag fighters of TPLF. Believe me, if they are really such successful, nothing can make me happier. But I don’t believe the story. Do you remember WSLF? They used to claim killing thousands of Derg’s soldiers everyday of the week. By the end of 1978, someone tallied the number of soldiers killed by WSLF and the total came up to be almost more than the population of the entire country. But they were actually busy killing students, teachers and dissidents who fled execution by the Derg and ask for refuge/protection. I am not saying these ones are doing the same thing but the fantasy is still there. The question to them is this: Do they believe to be Ethiopians or are they bent on secession? Are they fighting the same ‘Amhara’ colonialists who were said to be already annihilated by the ‘Glorious’ EPLF, TPLF, APDM and the ‘Indomitable’ OLF fighters? The so-called ‘Nationalist Question’ is defunct now. It has been duly answered. The only way out of this political quagmire is to unite with other opposition forces and formulate a proper method of struggle that will ultimately benefit the people as a whole. I said the people as a whole, not for the Somalis only of exclusive to Sidamos, Oromos, Afaras, Keffichos, Amahars or Tigreans. We are tired of narrow nationalists.
