The following is a letter from Bereket Simon, the propaganda chief of Meles Zenawi’s brutal dictatorship in Ethiopia, to the author of “Journalist’s Memoir,” Tesfaye Gebreab. Seiko Toure is Bereket’s nom de guerre.

Hi! I have read your recent book. I don’t want to comment on what you have written about me. What I want to tell you is that I was consistent on my belief regarding you. Finally you have admitted that you were not in our domain, starting the first day!

This country had given you more than you have contributed. The EPRDF was so generous to accommodate you and give you the authority and wealth you abused it. Hiwot, Tsigereda, Zufan… loved you, though you were pretending that you loved them. Finally you lost everyone! You betrayed all!

Now you are coming back with a story to resurrect desperately your fatally damaged identity. You are opting for a struggle for which you are not created. I tell you, for the rest of your life, you will fight to abandon the pursuit of your guilt. But you will not be able to escape. You will remain unsatisfied and in a continuous and desperate act of insulting those who are making history, at least to satisfy your ill fated mind.

For us, regardless our weaknesses, we have got an objective which is changing the whole of Ethiopia, including the Yerer and Kereyu Oromo peasants you pretend loving them. We are writing history which can’t be destroyed by any kind of force; forget your testimony of betrayal. Though we don’t have the right to be remembered positively in history, I think, we may have a dignified share of appreciation for our heroic struggle for the betterment of this great nation.

  1. Seiko isn’t Bereket Simon. Seiko is a Proud Journalist who couldn’t handle the insult of Lidetu Ayalew infront of many millions Ethiopians during the live debate just before the cursed election.

  2. This e-mail seems Melese zenawi’s tone instead of Bereket or seiko! Hey you damn blood suckers, atleast, you should admit your black and white mistackes recorded on Tesfaye’s memoir.

  3. It is sad to read such senseless email. This is nothing more than hopeless strive to defende his guilty concious. It is rather Bereket who shouldn’t escape his guilty concious in the rest of his life. Sadly his guilty testimony showed his deep root sinster feeling and sentment toward Oromo. Unconciously his sinister feelings toward Oromo was surfaced up in his writting to the extent he couldn’t deny.

    Demn the devil. Bereket Simone is the biggest devil in EPRDF thug camp. It is clear that and every body knows that dehumanizing people is your typical characteristic. The day you kneeled down to beg for appology will come soon. The Kereyu Oromo will see this in their own eyes. You have blood on your hand. you abused the resources your regime begged in the name of those innocent Kereyu nomads. You made you fortune out of their suffering. Your griddiness pushed you to the extent you lost your humanity and moral. You snatched food from the mouth of starved infant, toddler, pregenant, older people and sick. you made you fortune by stealing. that is the only way history will remember you. you don’t have any footprint other than corruption.

  6. Wow.. i wonder how one becomes such ignorant. Does he realy believe that he is maiing history? does he really believe that he and his vicious fellows are woeking for the betterment of Ethiopia? Who is gonna be fooled? People and history are wiser than that… history judges not by the words that omes out of the mouths rather by what is done… EPRDFs, you have destroyed Ethiopia.. you have obliterated the sprit of the nations that has been built through centuries and yet you call it ‘making history’… this is a mockery on the understanding of the nations! If you know what it means, leadership is the ultimate previlage and supreme chance to make history….. you abused it. You destroyed Ethiopia. Finally you will be destroyed. History shall never forget what you have done against innocent nations!

  7. What a great response!. EPRDF is working vigorously, Day & Night to reduce poverty. Lok what we have accomplisehed in the last few years. Rememeber the slums of Addis? now not any more. Visit other regions. Prosperity is on the way to all.
    Those who fleed from Ethiopia has to condemn the Government to survive. That is the only chance they have to get approval of staying or living permit. and these days, writing a book is the most fashionable and profitable thing.
    Forget this worthless book. It doesn’t tell us a thing in particular except some home gossips and rumors. Overall, Ethiopia is heading on the right truck. Now, the People of ethiopia are more happier than the previous years. I guess the State has an approval rate of over 75%. Please accpt the truth.

  8. The fact that this so called “Bereket Simon” who is an “errand boy” for Meles the tyrant masquerading as an Ethiopian is really an insult to injury. As an Oromo Ethiopian, the Tigre occupation of Oromia feels like a rape – This is evident with his sinister deception with his aggravation over Tesfaye Gebreab’s concern for Yerer and Kereyu Oromo. Hope we will soon be able to get rid of these ignorant (“Mehayme”)criminals and bring them to justice. Meles and his Tigrean thugs are overworking to silence Tesfaye Gebreab for they know very well that he is not done with exposing all these Tigre criminals who are killing, torturing and looting Ethiopia and Ethiopians at will.

    I only wish interogating (waterboarding) this idiot (aka Sekou Toure, Bereket Simon) to learn all of Woyane’s criminal activities over the last 19 years.

    In the first place Bereket/eprdf can not diguise us by posting himself as an adviser. A hyena(Bereket)could not by any means advise a wolf(Meles).
    This is an obsolete method of cheating of power abuse. After 19 yrs of seizure of power evolves no good in the minds of Bereket’s eprdf rule.
    Bereket is serving as a mouth piece of Meles. The narrator of all bullshit.
    Believe it or not the last loyal of Meles and co is you Bereket. Within less than a year you will be droped out of the loyality list of Woyane thugs.

Mind you, he is the propoganda minister and does not even know the usage of verb tenses, verbs from adverbs….sentence composition…? ” i was consistent on my belief…… ill fated mind..? well, English may be his second language, but still, some one in the position that he holds should be able to write a proper prose with clarity.     Just wanted to comment on your very judgmental statement to Mr. Gebreab. Who made you the authority over the TRUTH. Getocheh endemilut. turth has no father. Meaning, there is only half truth in this world. Your reality, your truth may not be shared by millions!!!!! Or are you still trying to preach us there is only one ML-truth. True or false the man has put forth his experience. Who are you to say what he felt during those trubalent years and the many lies and facade you and your cohort put at every twist and turn of your history. Dear Mujaw, Which truth are you going to tell the mothers, sisters, fathers and brothers of those who have given their dearest lives? So you see you, Meles and Sebhat do not have monopoly over the truth?
    Since you are getting older you will soon face GOD. For heaven sake, just for once do the right thing, say the right word so that the name your mother gave you will be beffitting your character.

  16. What an expose of himself and the people who are so responsible for the unfortunate tragic chapter of Ethiopia. While the EPDRF has excelled in in their style of begging for handout in the name of Ethiopia from any donor country, they have also managed to line their pocket with millions of dollar, which of course being deposited in European banks, they have managed in strangulating the economy the country by their monopoly of the economy of the country. Do not forget that when these collection of so called liberators came to Addis, they were penniless and skinny. Now, look at them, within 18 years, they the multimillionaire and owners of the various buildings and the villas in Addis, at the same time creating such a hate within that society.     You should not have posted Bereket’s E-mail respons.. he knew you would post it and that was why he wrote like a considerate person to Ethiopia.. TPLF people are desperately trying to get attention of the people to disseminate thier propaganda..

He advises and orders the killing of Ethiopians, he advises and orders the deceiting of Ethiopians, he advises and orders the looting of Ethiopian economy, he advises and orders the imprisonment of innocent Ethioipians, he advises and orders the war of neighboring countries. He does all of that to live one day at a time at the expense of Ethiopia and Ethiopias people as well as his other Eritrean traitors who are also the weyane mafia family in Addis!

From the letter i read i kind of felt like EPRDF has got good writers and i dont believe that seiko will write something so good as this i think it was written by some English(native) professor, to come to the main point, everybody know that both EPRDF and Tesfaye are evils they dont care about Ethiopia, they only care for only there kind, so for Ethiopians both of them are self centered blood sucking vampires, i wonder what will they say when the time comes and both the EPRDF and Tesfaye(shabiya) will hide, to all fellow Ethiopians please hunt and kill and the evils form this blessed land.
