Somalia president says Woyanne is free to leave

TRIPOLI, Libya (Garowe Online) – Somalia’s interim President Abdullahi Yusuf has said that the Ethiopian government the Woyanne junta in Ethiopia is ‘independent’ in its decision to withdraw its troops from Somalia.

During a Tuesday interview with the VOA Somali Service, President Yusuf suggested that the ongoing feud with Prime Minister Nur “Adde” Hassan Hussein has not deteriorated relations with Ethiopian Woyanne leaders.

Ethiopia Woyanne has the independent choice to withdraw [from Somalia] if this is in the interests of regional security,” said President Yusuf, who is on an official trip to Tripoli, Libya.

The Somali president has reportedly met with Libyan leader Col. Muammar Qadafi at State House in Tripoli, but no information was available following their private meeting.

President Yusuf’s comments – which seem to welcome Ethiopian army withdrawal – come on the heels of a widening rift within the Somali transitional government, with Prime Minister Nur Adde leading a government faction.

The Somali leader has been attributed to recent comments that there is “no government” in Somalia, after he categorically refused to endorse the Prime Minister’s new Cabinet.

  1. There is no transitional government in Somalia, there are only a few traitors who are getting their behinds kicked day after day by the Somali freedom fighters, all this propaganda by western news agencies about a deal between the Djibouti faction of ARS (a non-existent group) and the puppet TFG is nothing but a trick being played on the world audience. The true picture in Somalia is as follows;

    Woyanne and the so called AIMSOM slaves of the west are trapped in their camps, the Somail freedom fighters have them trapped and are telling them to leave their weapons and they will be given free passage to Ethiopia. Melles is scared to death, he is begging his masters to extricate the weapons out of Somalia, that is too hot to handle for the outgoing Bush junta to do, they don’t have the ground forces to extricate Woyanne mercenaries out of Mogadishu. This jig is up for Melles, he is now arresting Oromos because he knows hundreds of thousands of young Oromos are joining the OLF led by General Kemal Gelchu. On top of that Melles’ hapless mercenaries are getting their behinds handed to them by EPPF, TPDM and the other armed opposition groups. The end is coming for Melles, any Ethiopians who think this fascist regime will survive are dreaming a bad dream.

    Afewerki said: “The Islamic Courts have not been defeated, the Somalis have never been defeated. People who have wanted to intervene for their own agendas in Somalia have put themselves in a very serious circumstance.

    “This is a quagmire and time will tell who has been defeated and what we witnessed evolve the last few weeks.”
