Dr Hailu Araya’s car vandalized in the town of Metu

The Unity for Democracy and Justice Party (UDJ) reports that the car driven by its head of public relations, Dr Hailu Araya, was vandalized in the town of Metu, southwestern Ethiopia on Monday, Nov. 3.

Dr Hailu went to Metu to investigate the arrest of two UDJ officials, Ato Daniel WoldeGebriel and Ato Gobeze Demtew, who were trying to open the party’s office in the town.

The car was vandalized (its glasses were broken) while it was parked in front of the police station, according to UDJ.

የዶ/ር ሀይሉ አርአያ የሚመራው ቡድን በኢሉባቡር ዞን መቱ ከተማ ደርሶ የታሰሩ አባላት የተያዙበትን ምክንያት ለማጣራት ወደ ፖሊስ ጣቢያ በሄደበት ወቅት ተሳፍረውበት የነበረው መኪና መስታወት መሰባበሩን ፓርቲው አስታወቀ፡፡

በኢሉባቡር ዞን በመቱ ከተማ የዞን ቢሮ ለመክፈት ሁኔታዎችን በማመቻቸት ላይ የነበሩትን አቶ ዳንኤል ወልደ ገብርኤልና አቶ ጎበዜ ዳምጠው የተባሉ ጊዜያዊ አስተባባሪዎችን ፖሊስ በቁጥጥር ስር አውሎ የሰባት ቀን ጊዜ ቀጠሮ ጠይቆባቸው ነበር፡፡ ግለሰቦቹ የዶ/ር ሀይሉ ቡድን በቦታው ደርሶ ቢሮውን በይፋ ከመክፈቱ በፊት ለቢሮ የሚሆን ቤትና አባላትን በማሰባሰብ ለመጠበቅ ሲዘጋጁ ነበር የተያዙት፡፡

ይህን ጉዳይ ለማጣራት ወደ ፖሊስ ጣቢያ የሄዱት ዶ/ር ሀይሉ መኪናቸውን በጣቢያው በር ላይ አቁመው በገቡበት ወቅት ባልታወቁ ሰዎች የመኪናቸው መስታዎት ተሰባብሮባቸዋል፡፡ ፖሊስ በግቢው በር ላይ የቆመ መኪና ላይ ውድመት ያደረሱ ግለሰቦችን ለማወቅና ለመያዝ አልቻለም፡፡

ከሁለት ቀናት በፊት ኢ/ር ግዛቸው የሚመሩት ቡድን አስፈላጊውን መስፈርት አሟልቶ በምእራብ ጎጃም ዞን በደንበጫን ወረዳ ቢሮ ከፍቶ ባንዲራ ከሰቀለ በኋላ በፖሊስ ቁጥጥር ስር ውሎ እንደነበር ይታወሳል፡፡ ወደ አስር ሰአት ገደማ የተያዘው ይህ ቡድን ከምሽቱ አንድ ሰአት ተኩል አካባቢ ፖሊስ ይቅርታ ጠይቆ እንደለቀቃቸው አቶ ይልቃል ጌትነት ገልፀዋል፡፡ ‹‹ፖሊስ ይህን ሁሉ እርምጃ የሚወስደው ህጋዊ ምክንያት ኖሮት ሳይሆን ግራ ለማጋባትና ለማስፈራራት አስቦ ነው››ብለዋል አቶ ይልቃል፡፡

ፓርቲው በየክልሉ ቢሮ ለመክፈትና አባላትን ለማደራጀት በሚንቀሳቀስበት ወቅት ለየትኛውም አካል ቢሆን ማሳወቅ ያለበት መንግስት ወይም ምርጫ ቦርድ ቢሆንም አንድነት ራሱ ይህን ተግባር እየተወጣ ለመስራት ቢሞክርም በፖሊስ የሚደርሰው እንግልትና ወከባ እንደቀጠለ ነው፡፡

  1. UDJ is fake opposition anyway after they dropped the 8 pre conditions. As far as i am concerned AEUP is the only genuine opposition party in ethiopia. Eng. hailu has reaffirmed that the 8 Pre conditions must be resolved!
    Elias, please dont be a rubber stamp like EMF posting UDJ propgandas. You should also post from AEUP. For example, AEUP officials have been arrested last week. Why have not you reported it?

  2. That is exactly the character of TPLF, Intimidate, arrest, and kill. That is how it got where the leadership is now (in power). No an iota of democracy since its inception, nothing.
