Joke of the Week: Meles observes Int’l Day of Non-Violence

(APA) – Meles Zenawi’s dictatorial regime in Ethiopia on Thursday observed the International Day of Non-violence and 139th birth day of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, known as Mahatma Gandhi, with a call to end violence from Africa.

Prime Minister Monster Meles Zenawi said Gandhi gave practical shape to the reality of passive resistance, non-cooperation and truth to fight tyranny and turned non-violence into an effective political tool. [This is coming from a dictator and a mass murderer who orders the shooting down of pro-democracy protectors.]

“We have witnessed events in recent years which demonstrate just how this philosophy—Gandhi’s non-violence— can be abused in Africa and else where. The concepts of non-violence and Gandhi’s aims and values have been twisted far away from reality and truth,” he said.

He said Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence is particularly relevant to Africa, which suffers from violence more than other continent.

“Violence has become almost a habit, with all-too-many benefiting from [violence] as, for example in Somalia,” he said.

The United Nations general assembly passed resolution in June 2007 to commemorate October 2 as the birth day of Mahatma Gandhi and the International Day of Non-violence, thus recognizing his lasting impact on the world.

  1. Elias,
Could you please try to behave like a civilized person? H.E.PM Meles Zenawi was elected in 2005 democratically by majority peasants.I noticed that you don`t write his full title whenever you write his name. You just write Meles Zenawi as if he is your friend instead of writing H.E. PM Meles Zenawi. So,please stop being retard if you can.

  2. Elias,
Can you please stop messing up with the name of our reverend Prime Minister Meles. He is just as Great.

  4. Thomas H, Meles’s “bouchela”

Do you really have a human heart? I don’t think if you have one? If not you wouldn’t have emailed such junk to Elias.

Meles the Woyanne mad dog is a primitive murderer from Adwa. He will end up like fascist Mussolini hanged head down in Merkato. If we find you, being his bouchela, will do the same to you.

  5. It is shameful and disgusting that a people that run their daily lives with a strict moral values based on faith be it christianity or Islam like the people of horn of Africa specially the peiople of Ethiopia have a leader that is a liar,a monster, who lucks family values, never had a happy upbringing and leads a violent criminal organization the T.P.L.F and now preaches non-violence hey it is too late you have commited so many crimes against all ethiopians and for so long there is no way you will cheat us. Yes indeed Meles the brutal butcher of the people of horn and the leader of the criminal gang of weyane which is an organization that is led by psycopath leaders like Nega Sebhat, siye Abraha individuals with unstable mentality and ruthlessness.Weyane leaders ruthlessness and their bloody mentality can be truly summarized by their violent reaction to the civil disobedience of the Addis residents and public demonstrations.yes MELES is a monster,a psycopath,a liar and a worthless mercenary who can create animsity between people to please some good paying western agents.A

  7. To Thamas and hunde,

You both guys are sounded like the idiot and racist supporters of TPLF( Tigrian Parasite Looting Frog)that is a cause of all the probelms that we have in ethiopia, and you guys along with other racist group want to worship the Crime Minister Meles Sytanawi, that has been orchestrated and committed various of crimes from killing to giving lands of Ethiopia to neighborhood countries, this crime minster has been the driving tool in expanding poverty and unemployment in the entire county, he is also a cause fro expanding HIV/AIDS along his Prostitute wife Azeb who is a former wife of Kinfe who was killed by a set up of meles zenawi for confronting Meles as his teammate Haylom Araya.
Thomas and hunde , I have no time to describe the endless crimes of Meles Sytanwi and his self owned party TPLF, since we all are working very hard along with the best leaders of Ginbot 7, to completely destroy the weyane criminal MENGA group and drag them to justice soon.
Elias, Meles didn’t joke on any one when he appears to observe the Internation Day of Non-Violence, he went to teach the non violence internation community to be arrogant and ignorant violence as he had thought his idiot and racist members of TPLF , that has no clue but killing innocent civilians in a daily basis and keep looting Ethiopian money and assets every day for their own personal use.

Death to all members and HODAM AND RACIST supporters of Weyane….

  8. What a joke. This is an insult to Ghandi; Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and others who promoted justice and equality through non-violence means. Violence and meles zenawi are inseparable. He must have been raised in a violent environment and that’s why he resorts to violence against anything that stands on his way. He can’t tolerate a real oppsition.

  9. Thomas and Hunde

You guys looks like you don’t know your ass from the tea cup . Elias you are doing a fine Job , don’t be bothered by these two retarded Individuals .

  10. I wish people ignore the likes of “Thomas” and “Hunde” and concentrate on how to really expose the true color of Meles, the Murderer. As one rightly put it, Meles’s appearance at the non-violent event and to talk about the importance of solving problems “peacfully” is an insult to those who truly fought for and died advocating the real meaning of nonviolence.
Not long ago in 1998, when a war errupted between Ethiopia and Eritrea over BADME, Eritrea’s repeated call for solving the problem non-violently through dialogue was seen as a sign of weakness by the other party, the TPLF regime, and met with a rather harsh and negative response. Meles and his gangs sang “Zeraf, Zeraf!!” and vowed to drive Eritrean army all the way to Asmara. The TPLF gangs were even predicting with confidence( I call it ignorance) that they would achieve their expansionist dream within a few days to a week. The results of the 3 years war is out there for everyone to see. Meles, as arrogant as he’s, resorted to achieving his dream of” Greater Tigray” VIOLENTLY and at any expense.
In May, 2005: Ethioian people who protested over the election irregularities were met with the Woyane bullets. I didn’t see Meles and his gangs call for nonviolence. Instead, he ordered his Agazi army to round up and kill young and old indiscriminately.
The Somalia issue is another sad case I don’t want to bore you with.
While these and others are facts which describe the attitudes and personalities of Meles when dealing with his opponents, it’s sad that people even have the audicity to defend him.
In the nutshell, people like Meles are in no position to talk about non-violence for his actions say otherwise.
Meles’ current disguise as “a man of peace” sort of reminds me of the attitude of Mengistu’s of the Dergue, shortly before he fled to Zimbabwe in 1991. When a PBS reporter asked Mengistu how he’d respond to reports and alligations that he was ruthless and that he ordered for the killings of many innocent people and some of his generals. Of course, he denied such allegation as “a nonsense” and further added that he wouldn’t even kill a fly that crowles around him, or something to that effect.
I don’t know but history seems to be repeating itself.
Could it be that Meles’ pretentious acts as a man of peace be a sign of repent or that his days are numbered?
For the sake of peace and harmony in our region, I sure hope so.
