(CNN) – Barack Obama’s campaign says it has raised more than $8 million from over 130,000 donors following Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin’s speech Wednesday night.
The campaign also says it is on track to raise $10 million before John McCain takes the podium at the Republican National Convention tonight.

I don’t understand why we Ethiopians are realy enthusiastic about Obama/Democratic party. America is always America. Think the historical 100 yrs ‘friendship’ of America. Tell me some tangible project performed by America for the people of ETHIOPIA. None! If you guiys think Obama is going to change the American policy towards Ethiopia, you’re loosing your mind! If America is not chaging heart towards many suffering Ethiopians for the last 100 yrs, they WILL NOT change NOW. FULL STOP! Take my word!
It is not the 1st time Democrats took office. The worst time for us is when Democrats taking office eventhough there is no difference on party swap for the 3rd world.
There is a change of straw to suck the blood of the suffering many by fortunate few wether Republican or Democrats.
Thanks,
tazabi, you are a confused human being. We Ethiopians who lives here in USA are not different from those African Americans. We have the same blood whether you believe it or not. when some body look at you, they are not going to say, you are Ethiopians. so don,t be fool and cheat your own skin. Obama is a gift to all Africans in general. Whether he will help Ethiopia in the future no body knows. Time will tell. I can garuante you, he will do his best better than the cow boy Bush. this is my 5cent. takecare
nuru I happen to agree with you. I am an african american and I do understand the doubtfulness tazabi feels. But it’s quite obvious that we in america have always had nach sowooch in power here and because of that they tend to only care for themselves which includes there ancesters over in europe. This may be the only chance for any signicant change towards africa at all. Of course Obama will not be able to change everything but at least because he shares an ancestery with the african people I’m sure he will some empathy. Tesf Adergalow
