Ethiopia’s beggar despot who survives on Western handouts is provoking Egypt by throwing accusations that Mubarak’s government is supporting Ethiopian rebel groups, according to Reuters (see below). We are accustomed to seeing dictators pick fights with external “enemies” when ever they feel the heat from domestic troubles. It is thus not surprising that Meles is going after Egypt since he is currently facing growing public anger and simmering tension that could explode any time. Meles uses the Nile issue only as a political tool, not as a matter of Ethiopia’s national interest. It is to be remembered that when Meles came to power he went to Cairo and signed an accord (read here) with Mubarak that gives Egypt a veto power over any agreement on Nile. Regarding his chest beating, let’s not forget that it took only 3,000 Somali ragtag fighters to kick his 20,000 troops out of Somalia. If war erupts between Egypt and Woyanne, which is highly unlikely, Ethiopians will be neutral spectators. — Elias Kifle
Ethiopian PM warns Egypt off Nile war
By Barry Malone
ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) – Egypt could not win a war with Ethiopia over the River Nile and is also supporting rebel groups in an attempt to destabilize the Horn of Africa nation, Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said in an interview.
Egypt, Ethiopia and seven other countries through which the river passes have been locked in more than a decade of contentious talks driven by anger over the perceived injustice of a previous Nile water treaty signed in 1929.
Under the original pact Egypt is entitled to 55.5 billion cubic meters a year, the lion’s share of the Nile’s total flow of around 84 billion cubic meters, despite the fact some 85 percent of the water originates in Ethiopia.
Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Kenya signed a new deal to share the waters in May, provoking Egypt to call it a “national security” issue.
Meles said he was not happy with the rhetoric coming from the Egyptians but dismissed the claims of some analysts that war could eventually erupt.
“I am not worried that the Egyptians will suddenly invade Ethiopia,” Meles told Reuters in an interview. “Nobody who has tried that has lived to tell the story. I don’t think the Egyptians will be any different and I think they know that.”
The five signatories of the new deal have given the other Nile Basin countries one year to join the pact before putting it into action. Sudan has backed Egypt while Democratic Republic of the Congo and Burundi have so far refused to sign.
“The Egyptians have yet to make up their minds as to whether they want to live in the 21st or the 19th century,” Meles told Reuters in an interview, referring to the fact the original treaty was negotiated by colonial administrators.
“So the process appears to be stuck.”
“FISH IN TROUBLED WATERS”
Stretching more than 6,600 km (4,100 miles) from Lake Victoria to the Mediterranean, the Nile is a vital water and energy source for the nine countries through which it flows.
Egypt, almost totally dependent on the Nile and threatened by climate change, is closely watching hydroelectric dam construction in the upstream countries.
Ethiopia has built five huge dams over the last decade and has begun construction on a new $1.4 billion hydropower facility — the biggest in Africa.
Meles accused Egypt of trying to destabilize his country by supporting several small rebel groups but said it was a tactic that would no longer work.
“If we address the issues around which the rebel groups are mobilized then we can neutralize them and therefore make it impossible for the Egyptians to fish in troubled waters because there won’t be any,” he said.
“Hopefully that should convince the Egyptians that, as direct conflict will not work, and as the indirect approach is not as effective as it used to be, the only sane option will be civil dialogue.”
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in July called for a scheduled November meeting of the nine countries to be attended by heads of state. Meles said that would not happen now.
The last meeting of all sides ended in stalemate and angry exchanges between water ministers at a news conference in Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.
“Ask the Egyptians to leave their culture and go and live in the desert because you need to take this water and to add it to other countries? No,” Egyptian Water Minister Mohamed Nasreddin Allam told Reuters at that meeting.

u r nothing. meles is right .may be u getting support from egypt.now i can understand that u r not for the ppl of ethiopia.those of u who r gainst MELES in NILE RIVER are against ppl of ethiopia.we Will fight if the egyptions try even though i hate MELES i will be on his side and the side of my ppl. i hate ethiopian revview.i will never open that web any more.
hinok,
you are misken. it has been 20 years and yet you are still sleeping. “you hate meles but you will fight on his side” looool…
Absolutely, the 1929 Nile agreement was not the only one and all other pacts including border demarcation pacts must be re corrected, that is what the Egyptian government trying to tell this Guy Malas, but he is running only with the Nile water forgetting The Ogaden issue all together when saying any thing about the Egyptian water. He made a very bad calculation when he separated the two issues.
Melese who has played as willful servant to international interest groups including to that of the middle Eastern nations ,occasionally, has laps of memory about his undertakings. In the past He played political fornication with neighboring Arab nations. At a time, whene Ethiopians are increasingly threatening his precarious position he wants to test the opposition if he can find a little hole to support his agenda. This whole thing,it sounds to me, a prearranged and agreed upon speech between the two parties. No one will be deceived by his trick he can manufacture every lie any time he want;sHe knows ,as I scribble this, the clock just strikes 10:15 am.

henok..
your uncle Meles could not fool us this time, this fight is not our fight, you Tigreyanes are looting our country, you gona fight your fight this time.after all it is a blaff.Meles has no gutt to putup fight with Egypt at this critical time,it is another banch fools(Woyanes) old and outdated tactic.
Big trouble’emerged. At this period of a phenomenal climate change and a great economic downturn any unexpected thing can happen any time any place.
It’s not surprising therefore to see a push and a pull between the two historical rivalries and in fact enemies.I don,t want to see war,a change of the Tribal regime that cling to power for the last two decades.
It shows how two identical beggars can muddy the water and talk about fight and even an all-out war. This goon should watch his mouth. This is not the 1870’s or 1880’s. And that Halawa drunk Mubarak also should watch his step. He is making up an immaterial external factor that has nothing to do with the livelihood of the Egyptian people. It is just to divert his own people’s attention from the upcoming elections. If he thinks about invasion, then he will be giving the best gift this goon from Adwa has ever received. We don’t need this rice-high filth to come to our country and muddle. But folks…these two unsightly creatures are just ‘beating’ drums of ‘war’. They are showing off ‘acts’ of war. I hope and pray The Almighty sniff the life of these two ugliest beings that ever crawled on this good earth. They both stink to high heaven.
listen hinok,
don’t be emotional to the naked truth, meles did it before with Eritrea when he have a domestic opposition pressure he started a war claiming Bademe, but we all know he was forced to abide by international law, again he is trying to drag another 125,000 poor Ethiopians to death and going to give Egypt with what ever they want.
you know it and i know it, it will never happen meles is just extending his long time agenda to rule Ethiopia by claiming war to expand his grip and military power on majority of the opposition in Ethiopian population.
we can tell from his speech that he is provoking Egypt to start a war don’t be panic hinok tell meles to stop his aggression for nothing.
Mr Elias and Ethiopian review team telling the truth.
they love Ethiopia more than you will never know in your little tribal mind.
Mr Meles Zenawi is not fighting the Pharaos for the best interest of Ethiopia. He is picking up fight with Egypt for his own secret issues, may be a business deal that has gone sour between the mother of all corruption (AZEB) and Egyptian business partners. Melese and Bhutros Gali of Egypt has made Ethiopia a land-locked country so that the Egyptians can dictate to Ethiopia on the issue of Nile water. I think and believe that there is an issue that is going between Melese and pharaos that has not made public. ONE THING I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE CLEAR TO MELESE ZENAWI IS THAT WITHOUT HIM, THE PEOPLE OF ETHIOPIA WILL DEFEND THEMSELVES AND DEFEAT THEIR ENEMY FOR GOOD US USUAL. ETHIOPIA WAS NEVER DEFEATED BY FOREIGN INVDERS. OUR PROBLEM IS THE FOX IN SHEEP SKIN JUST LIKE MELESE. If we fight our enemies under Melese leadership, for sure we will lose. How come melese is becoming an Ethiopian at heart over night? Warning to all Ethiopians, Melese is fulling us and please don’t fall for his lies. I believe our prosperity is related to using the 85% of the Nile water that have been deserting Ethiopia but Melese is not a kind of leader we trust after his 20 years Aristocratic rule. I will play my part to protect my beloved country Ethiopia any time and anywhere under true Ethiopian leader but not Melese Zenawi the most arrogant, corrupt, shrood and lier. Wish all the blessings to Ethiopia and Ethiopians.
Meles is already at war with Ethiopia. Who is he trying to fool by portraying himself as if he is a defender of Ethiopia?
I think this is a great opportunity to Ethiopia, a blessing in disguise. We lost the opportunity to work with shabia when they were fighting with woyane.Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
We do not have to loose this opportunity now. We need to work with everybody (including Egypt) who has an incentive to get rid of woyanes.
The opposition has to work with Egypt to get rid of woyenes. Egypt is a minor threat (lesser enemy) to Ethiopia than Meles is.
This MF dictator is bluffing that just for the consumption of innocent Ethiopians like Hinok. MELASS has been licking Mubarek’s boot for the last how many years which he is still licking. Do you think he will go to war against his master for the sake of Nile? Where is Nile located according the dictator’s Bantustan Ethiopia? Of course in the Bantustan Amhara. Then will this mass murderer fight the Egyptians to save Nile for the Amharas. My a$$. All this bluffing is just to cheat some naive Ethiopians, who do not know the real nature of this DRACULA. I am sure he is bargaining with his Egyptian masters to sell the Nile at a dirt cheap price, while we are discussing this at this time.
He must have thought this might be a good cause to rally the Ethiopian people behind weyane. Infact the Ethiopian people will use it an excellent oportunity to hasten weyane’s demise. No Ethiopian will be fooled a second time.
As far as the Ethiopian people are concerned, the number one enemy of the mother land is weyane only and must be removed by all means possible to save the country. weyane by it’s nature cannot and will not fight for the best interest of the country, and all the 80 million Ethiopians know this fact.
Here we go again, Melese trying to divert attention from the domestic issues. Every time there is a problem with Domestic issue , he tries to raise something as big as the Egypt issue like going to war with Eritrea. If this is really about the Ethiopian people, the first thing he need to do is steep down and relinquish power as we are all sick of his insult by claiming wining the vote by 96% . The question is not Egypt. The question is ” dose he have any credibility at all? ” Who knows what the agenda is with this guy? Did he not take us to war with Eritrea in the name of gaining a port when the real agenda was something more sinister? How long is he going to fool people as the one above!!! Cant you guys see these? wake up and smell the coffee people. We can go to war with any country to defend out interests but i beg to differ with Ato Melese as he has a history of Narcissistic and psychopathic behaviors.
I don’t think this guy, Melese knows what he is talking about. As per his handlers advise, Melese is bluffing on Egypt whenever Egypt questions its sovereignty. By doing so, nationalists in Egypt are forced to think twice the cost the may pay if they choose path of independence from West.
Let us break it down as Prof. Al Mariam:
“thugspeak” or “gutterese”
“I am not worried that the Egyptians will suddenly invade Ethiopia,”. “Nobody who has tried that has lived to tell the story. I don’t think the Egyptians will be any different and I think they know that.”
And he went on to say,
“The Egyptians have yet to make up their minds as to whether they want to live in the 21st or the 19th century,”
In diplomatese (language of diplomats)
Mohamed Nasreddin Allam.. “Ask the Egyptians to leave their culture and go and live in the desert because you need to take this water and to add it to other countries? No,”
You see..Egyptian Water Minister would not take the bait and descend into the gutter. He seems to be all too familiar with the proverbial mud wrestling match with the pig. Both contestants get dirty, but the pig enjoys the experience infinitely more.
[[On November 14th, 1874 Colonel Arendup’ s force was attacked at Gundet, to which place it had advanced on the road to Adowa. His column consisted of 2,500 infantry, armed with Remington rifles, and 12 mountain guns. There were a number of European and American officers under his command.
Possibly due to overconfidence at the occupation of Ginda without any resistance, Colonel Arendup was unprepared for an attack, and the fact that the Ethiopians commenced firing with rifles was a complete surprise. His force was practically annihilated, despite the personal bravery of its commander. Among those killed were Colonel Arendup, Arakel Bey Nubar (nephew of the Egyptian Prime Minister), Count Zichy, and Rustem Bey. An American officer collected the survivors, and with Rauf Bey and Major Dornholtz, managed to reach Massowah.]]
.
“I am not worried that the Egyptians will suddenly invade Ethiopia, nobody who has tried that has lived to tell the story. I don’t think the Egyptians will be any different and I think they know that.” Melse
What a joke!!
Was he referring about Minilik/ Yohans or about his Dad heroism.
Gura: 1876
Note: After the defeat at Gundet, the Egyptians sent another, much larger force to attack Ethiopia in 1876. The Egyptians advanced to Gura and built a fort there.
On November 6th and 7th, the Egyptians were attacked by the Ethiopian army, (which was estimated at 60,000 men) and surrounded. Most of the Ethiopians were armed with firearms, and although they had only one field-gun, it is said to have had no effect in deciding the action.
The accounts of the American officers are silent on the point; but it is said that Rateb Pasha allowed his views to be overruled by Loring Pasha, who insisted on the ramps of the trenches which had been erected being razed, so that the artillery could have a clear zone of fire.
The gunners and infantry were enfiladed by the Ethiopians from higher ground, and the slaughter was so great that several regiments became completely demoralized. Those officers who attempted to rally their men and the survivors, were accused generally of joining in the panic, and of cowardice in the field.
The Egyptian troops and officers were called upon to fight under conditions hitherto unknown to them, and without the benefit of tried and skilled leaders. The result was inevitable. The regiment of Ismail Pasha Kamel stampeded during the action and could not be rallied.
The Ethiopians followed up their success, and closely invested Fort Gura, which they attacked in force on the 8th and 9th of March.
On March 10th, Rashid Pasha and Osman Bey Neghib led an attack on the Ethiopians which was repulsed with loss, and both officers were killed while leading their men. From one of the accounts, this attack would appear to have been a sortie from the fort of 5,000 picked troops and artillery (Loring, p. 413).
The Ethiopians then withdrew to loot the dead and collect the rifles, etc. which the panic-stricken Egyptian troops had abandoned. Most of the artillery was lost, as well as considerable quantities of rifle ammunition.
After the withdrawal of the Ethiopians, the Egyptian troops got entirely out of hand, and burnt the dead and wounded enemies. The Ethiopians retaliated by a cold-blooded massacre of about 600 prisoners whom they had taken. Among these prisoners killed were Dr. Muhammad Ali Pasha and Neghib Bey Muhammad. Dr. Badr (who had been educated in Edinburgh) escaped by the assistance of an Ethiopian girl who discovered him, wounded.
On March 12th, an amnesty was arranged, and Monsieur Sarzac (the French consul at Massowah) went over the battlefield… the survivors of the Egyptian army were collected, and reached Massowah in May.
[Note: The battle of Gura ended Egypt’ s ambitions against Ethiopia. Two of the captured Egyptian cannon can still be seen at Aksum]
I think this little man is like a mad dog that bites everything near to it. We Ethiopians now very well our right over Nile. But this impudent slut Meles is not the right person to speak even a word about Nile on behalf of Ethiopian people. He is illegal soldier with no war or peace discipline. This is foolish attempt of attention diversion. But I am sorry for people who are cheated by this soulless pig.
Hinok What are you smoking man? Are you aware that Meles is destroying Ethiopia’s ecology and starving the people to death? The people of Ethiopian should be your priority than reinstate Mele’s bluff about Nile. By the way, are you following demhit? they are doing some real damage on Meles’ soldier
Tegadalay hinok–ER will miss you ki! Ki!K!. You bozzo this site is a learning ground for you. Meles doesn’t need your support to destroy that country. The tegadalay government has a perfection in distruction than building and innovation. Now a days their a good name that can define your tegadalay government i.e. wey-ane the DEMOLISHION DERBY OF ETHIOPIA THE GOLDEN SON OF LITTLE TIGRAY THE HOME OF THE ILLITERATE TEGADALAY.
bravo meles, finally u became nationalist
Whoever wrote the introductory commentary is biased. I am no fan of Meles but when it comes to matters of national security, we should stand together as one people. I agree he may be using to turn the heat down from domestic problems (which are really insignificant compared to what other African nations have to go through).
Far away and dirty politics will not change the political landscape in Ethiopia. If you want to introduce change, come to Ethiopia and let us fight together. Dont bullshit us with empty rhetoric.
Henok- is your name spelt out right? ;)
Thanks Elias like always for exposing the ONE MAN dictator’s worn out tactics of divide and rule cunning fox defunct policy of the last some 20 years.
What has the dictator’s main job been for the last 20 years other than picking fights with every one, say, Eritrea, Somalia, Kenya, Sudan, Oromos, Amharas, etc.?
And what have the wretched 80 million Ethiopians got out of all these systematic barbarism other than satan’s reckless violence, insecurities, deaths, grave physical and mental damages, displacements from homes, communities and the entire country?
The badly needed scarce financial, material and human resources have been and are still being recklessly squandered in manufacturing imaginary internal and external enemies as well as manufacturing the fake mother of all the fake propaganda arts and crafts acrobat dances and the continuation of endless war mongering as a profession of eternal BAD GOVERNANCE.
I am only too sad for the poor Ethiopians who have been reduced to be a typical society of beggars and an incurable living example and international laughing stock in that area while their chest pumping self made hedonist dictators swim in financial, material, social and other unbelievable super privileges to be protected by both real wars and imaginary threat of wars.
Well, since they didn’t want and couldn’t declare war on poverty, ignorance, sickness, diseases, hunger, hopelessness, misery, insecurity of lives and limbs, so let them go for a kill and get innocent humans killed. This are all what we are getting from the 99.6% of vote highway robbery. Hmmm…
“The wolf was sick, he vowed a monk to be – But when he got well, a wolf once more was he” ~Walter Bower
Meles is a narcissistic bully that loves distractions, death, human sufferings and war. The bloody hand tyrant Meles that hates Ethiopia and Ethiopians must have something in his sleeves to distract Ethiopians and the rest of the world. I wouldn’t be surprised, if the mentally unstable Meles is in the process of running away from Ethiopia and leave Ethiopia in the middle of a war with Egypt, Eritrea and other neighboring countries. A tyrant that has given Ethiopian land like a cheap piece of candy, wouldn’t care to what happens to Ethiopia’s territory, water and it’s citizens.
hinock, don’t let the door hit you when you leave.
for # 1 comment. i know you are thuggery from woyNE PUPPET. EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT WOYANE WILL BE COLLAPSE SOON BY ITSELF LET ALONE CONFRONT WITH WITH POWERFUL COUNTRY/EGYPT.
First of all I do not agree with commentary of ER.
When I say this I do not mean that some of the points raised by ER are wrong.
Almost 2/3rd of the points are correct. Anyway one point, but a BIG point has been raised by Ato Meles. That is I quote:
“The Egyptians have yet to make up their minds as to whether they want to live in the 21st or the 19th century,” Meles told Reuters in an interview, referring to the fact the original treaty was negotiated by colonial administrators.
I would say, in addition to this
Egypt must come to its senses, when the people of Nile source regions are suffering from drought, lack of adequate irrigation system and energy and electric system, while the water is flowing wild to the desert areas.
Ethiopians have the right to utilize its natural waters accordingly. But a dependent nation like Egypt should not demand more than owners of the water.
In fact Egypt has to pay indemnity for Ethiopia for its century old generosity.
Nile River is so sad that his native people did not offer it the necessary care in its birth place. That is why the Nile River has immigrated to alien countries.
If we take care of the Nile, then it stops migrating into a strange landscape.
I call on hereupon the Nile River to return to its homeland, after so many years of being refuge in foreign countries.
NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov. 24 (UPI) — Kenyan troops have conducted operations against Ethiopia’s Oromo Liberation Front rebels in Kenya’s northeastern region, a government official said.
Kenyan Internal Security Assistant Minister Orwa Ojodeh told Parliament that the military operation against the said the move to flush out the Oromo Liberation Front guerrillas was necessary because rising insecurity in the country, The Daily Nation reported Wednesday.
Ojodeh added that the Oromo Liberation Front forces were mercenaries and many of them had resorted to highway banditry in the Moyale, Wajir and Sololo areas of northeastern Kenya. Ojodeh claimed Oromo Liberation Front members were involved in kidnapping, arms smuggling, cattle rustling and armed assaults on the area’s residents.
The military offensive, codenamed “Operation Good Hope” reportedly captured an assortment of guns, land mines, bombs, bullets, communication gear, tear-gas canisters and hand grenades.
Ojodeh stated that the police had information that the rebels instigated attacks against various clans in the region in an attempt to stir up clan warfare and that 10 people had been killed in the Oromo Liberation Front attacks. Ojodeh said six Oromo Liberation Front rebels have been arrested and the Kenyan government is seeking their repatriation to Ethiopia.

Elias;
Opposing Meles is appreciable. But dancing with Mubarak to attack Ethiopia (because Meles is its leader) is ridiculous. It might show how low you are willing to go, as far as Meles is boarded in the Ethiopian ship. What you have forgotten is there is a country called, Ethiopia, which has long been envied by Egypt. Governments come and go. But a country is always there. Please never lose sight of the big prize, and don’t indirectly endorse the sinister motives of Egypt, which you don’t believe in it.
it is the issue of ethiopian people. even if melese is a devil, if he brings something sensible to the table, i will take it. the Nile river is the life of most countries. i will b by his side if he truly acts according to what he is claiming to do. Sometimes the bad can turn to be good. so for whatever back side motivation he got, we have to go for the plan he has on nile. we can turn the plan to our side. i dont think sitting and waiting for answers from egypt how to use our own rivers. that is shit truth and we need it now and we need it badly.
eventhough I dont support Meles politically, I GREATLY support his attitude towards Egypt. They are our greatest back stabbers. I am ashemed that Elias doesnt support this idea!
I agree with you Hinok!
Hinok say he loves meles.I think HINOK MUST BE A Woyanne from Adwa who is scared to death from the wrath of the Ethiopian mass.Hinok the doomsday is around the corner. what are you going to do when that day comes?
Meles the Tigray liberator bluffs when he thinks he could change the image of him as a killer. This fart of Meles the Tigray liberator is intended for Ethiopians so that they would think he is big and smart. Remember Mengistu and Isayas bluffing at Reagan and American imperialism. The three bluff and it is to show to their people they are smart. Meles the Tigray Liberator is small as TPLF and he is not a global figure. He is just a Tigray liberator.
I am not fooled by this rhetoric. The despot always goes on same bravado publicity stunt knowing full well he is gonna sell out. In fact, he sold the Nile over five years ago, just before the 2005 election when he visited Egypt. So it is too much noise for nothing. Readers should also remember the climate change meeting in Denmark a few months ago. The dictator begged to be a representative for Africa by talking big prior to the meeting. But he sold Africa out en route to Denmark. It is a woyane modus operandi to talk big just before dropping the bombshell. I can easily predict that all this noise means Woyane will sell the Nile for cheap in the coming weeks. It is all a publicity stunt
Any foreign conflict is a very good opportunity for any despot. It diverts the public’s attention from hunger, oppression, corruption, Haile Gebreselasie, Azeb Gola, Aba Gebremedhin … many many more.
Any spat with Arabs is a great gift, Mengistu has used it very well so will Meles.
Stop your clown show Mr Zenawi, you’re digging your own grave. The people of Ethiopia are fed up with you and your wars and not many people want to die for your tyrannical regime. You can’t help but wonder how people so completely brainless as Meles get to be Heads of State!
You fool me once, shame on you but you fool me the 2nd time , shame on me. I would not be swayed by Melese as he has bellow zero credibility. All I have to do is see his resume which has been full of deceptive and manipulative traits. How can he do that again but of course some morons are buying in to his yet another deceit pion and falling for this crap. It is like the blind leading another blind.
Ethiopia is not lucking resources but a governing body who can manage that resource. What we have in Ethiopia now is a monopoly of power by the immediate family of Melse him self such as his own wife who are robing the poor Ethiopian people. The same goes with any gained resource in this case the blue Nile which at the end of the day will go to the pocket of his family anyway.
In my eyes war is not necessary now.We are sick and tired of wars. The Nile river is enough for all of us.All the Nile riparian countries can use the Nile .We don’t need to go to war.
The longer Meles stays in power, the more difficult would be to reverse his blunder and the worse the country would be in trouble.
The guy is given too much time to devastate Ethiopia.
In order to avert any resistance that may arise in such confusing situation, he has setup one-ethnic-army, so that he could order what ever he like.
so under his military command it is hard to imagine to gain victory over enemies.
Meles is a person that did not dare to tell upto now how many soldiers have died by his mercenary war in Somalia?
The war against Eritrea cost 100.000 people for gaining nothing.
What about in Ogaden? how many people have lost thier lives?
In Gambela? in Amhara? in GamoGofa?
come on guys! think of the short cut!
Let us not waste time!
The guy must be contained ! that’s all.
Lost time is never found!
Ethiopia will prevail!!!
Ethiopians, let’s see and weigh the two enemies of Ethiopia, namely Egyptian rulers and Meles Naziawi in juxtapostion: Zinawi and his anti-Ethiopia organizations have been waging war on Ethiopia for the last half a century.Today,to our greatest sadness,Ehtiopia is under the invading force of Meles Nazawi.Yes,our enemy,it is what it has been.
Ethiopians,is there any doubt in our minds that Meles Naziawi and his anti-Ethiopia organazations are the enemy of Ethiopia?
Well, well, well;Egypt’s rulers have been the enemy of Ethiopia since creation. There was not anything that they have not tried to comletely remove Ethiopia from the surface of the earth.Ehtiopians,is there any doubt in our mind that Egytian rulers are the enemy of Ethiopia.
Ethiopians don’t trust Meles Naziawi with our dearest homelean,Ethiopia. He doesn’t represent Ethiopians and their loved motherland,Ethiopia.
Meles Naziawi a posionous snake, when hungry and angry,it sneakes out his nake and vibrates his twin tongues;it spits not only venom,it does expell filth from his head and stomach. He insulted our dearest patriot fathers and mothers who totally defeated and disintegrated Egyptian armies and chased the rest of the filth footsoldiers to their grave deep into the earth and left them to be consumed by tiny creaters.
When Zinawianrobbers came into Ethiopia, they had deep dislike towards Ethiopians;they barefoot, but had a lot of guns and bullets to loot and murder ethiopians.Time favored them and invaded Ethiopia.Egyptian rulers were delighted because Zinawianrobbes were hatched out of filthy egg that the enemies before them laid .
Zinawianrobers did not waste time;they quickly moved accross and allover Ethiopia and moved into villages, towns, cities, and neighbourhoods and broke into homes and vandalized the lives of families.Today, the enemy,Zinaianrobbers own, controll, and run anything and everyhing that is available below and above the lands,in Ehtiopia.
Ethiopians will never, ever trust Meles Naziawi;no way,no way,no way.Ethiopians are partnered with God and have determined to defeat both our common enemies,Zinawianrobbers and Egyptian rullers.Meles Naziawi and members of the crimefamily shall be washed away downstream,a gift to Egyptian ruleres;they can serve themselves fried or boiled or raw.
Ethiopians, our short and longterm assignment is to completely defeat our common enemies,Zinawianrobbers and Egyptian rulers for once and for all.Yes,we will.
Down with our silly enemies!
Ethiopians shall definitely become victorious soon.
May our dear lord,God bring unending calamities upon our common enemies.Amen.
In fact it is questionable to trust meles after he discredited ethiopians fighting during the eritrea-ethiopia war. However, we do not need his appreciation for defending our country because its our country not one man’s country. The point is we all are obliged to defend our ethiopia whether meles, or derg, or whoever is on power. We should not ask permission to use our own water because british or egypt said so and we should not fold our hands and watch when egypt comes back again and slaughter our people because meles is on power. That’s a very sick idea we should think again. Every government have issues with the people especially in africa but when it comes to our country, we have to be together..defeat and deal with the domestic issue. If we don’t have a country, the worst will come than the present one. Have home first before you look for furnitures. When it comes to meles, I don’t trust his words whether he meant it or not but that is a pretty though words. I’m praying it would be. I don’t know why it is hard for him to appear on TV and address this issue to ethiopian people the way he address to roiters. That will show the people how much he cares for his country.
Dear my country men, Meles Zenawi surrender all coastlines to Eritrea and make Ethiopia landlocked. He has done it in a very extraordinary fashion and never heard of in the world by collaborating with Egyptian golden son of former UN chief Buttros Gali. He never feel threatened and start nuclear program when Ethiopian sworn enemies the Egyptian and Sudanese start nuclear program. He gives a lot of border land in border demarcation to Sudan and farm land to Egypt.
Meles has deep hatred not only for Ethiopia but for Tigrean because they ridiculed him while he was a boy by calling him son of Banda because his father Zenawi is known collaborator of Fascist Italian.
The Tigrean made a terrible mistake by following his woyane party. When they were awake during the Eritrea invasion, it was too late to stop him. So now the Ethiopia people should be careful about the war rhetoric come out from Meles. We are not in a position to go war with Egypt following this traitor leader.
First we have to fight and get rid of Meles and elect responsible government that defend Ethiopia interest. If the Egyptian war comes then we will defend our country. We have done it before fighting Egyptian with beloved leader like Atse Yohaness IV.
But my country men don’t follow wayane talk of war with Egypt. This not a time for war with Egypt but a war with Meles Zenawi. Let is rise up and fight for our freedom first. God will help us with this. Our curse which runs for the last forty year after we betray our trusted ally Israel will be over.
We betray Israel by severing diplomatic tie with Israel to make the Egyptian happy after 1973 Yom Kippur War. After that day Emperor Haile Selassie get what he deserves with his 60 Minster and General. Ethiopia never gets its respect in international stage. We have been brutalized by Mengistu and Meles regime for the last forty years. The bible teaches us God of Israel will bless any people who blessed Israel and curse any people who curse Israel.
So there is no friendly country now to defend us if Egyptian invades Ethiopia. We have no sea port to buy weapon. Djbouti, Somalia or Sudan all are friend of Egypt. Eritrea will not allow Ethiopia to get weapon from its sea port. Kenya will bow down for Egyptian pressure and stop allowing Ethiopia from using its sea port for getting weapon.
So my country men don’t follow Meles war rhetoric with Egypt and focus first to get rid of him. God bless Ethiopia
Elias, you’re as always to the point and uncompromising. Even your detractors are forced to respect your integrity. On the other hand, even his very best friends should feel ashamed of Zenawi. I cannot believe my eyes when I read his empty bravado. The Egyptians of course wouldn’t dare to attack Ethiopia, but they are more than capable to make a female out of Zenawi.
Meles is trying to distract from the main point-His iron fist repression and ethnocentristic ideas and hate aginst non-Tigrian Ethiopians. We are not born yesterday. He used that during his conflict with our Eritrean brothers effect unfortunately effectively. And now he is trying to use the same old tactic with the Egyptians.Enough is Enough Meles.
Egypt will decimate Woyanes forces in a matter of few days, unless Woyanes run off to the neighboring countries, Sudan, Djibouti, Somalia and Kenya. Even then it will be a matter of time before the Egyptians capture and force them pay for the troubles Meles and TPLF started.
As far as I understand, it is high time Ethiopia has to start to build dams if we can get the money be it from the Chinese or anywhere else for that matter (the West has not done so far is not likely to do it in the future). And mind you it was Egypt how started making this claims that the issue of Nile is matter of National Security (Not Ethiopia). It is legit to stand prepared in case escalation of rhetoric into actions. Just to day I read a news emergency food need has gone down because of good rain which makes me wonder if the country is well irrigated we will be in good position.
Why is Egypt molesting woyane when there are no cameras around? Mubarek is molesting the child-soldier Zenawi, does anybody know why?
#45 layman,
Rest assured the fact that the majority of all those 80 million Ethiopian who have been starving and sickened deep down to the bottom of their bone marrows and living on shameful international hand outs be it rainy or dry seasons will still keep suffering as long as we have a minority war mongering dictatorial BAD Governance.
Ethiopia is endowed with vast and fertile agricultural land areas currently even lots of them being distributed to foreign multinationals by the same impoverishing corrupt bad government you are provoking to build dams that may easily trigger the extinction of Ethiopia just like the bygone Byzantine Empire.
Bring the Chinese and defeat some of your self made imaginary enemies? Hmmm..
Yes, depending on time place and mood, the chines may gladly dispatch some 500 000 prisoners after a short military training in order to help you defeat some of your dream enemies but will definitely remain there in Ethiopia for life just like the British ex-criminals banished to Australia as a capital punishment, slowly evolving in to the current state of things where the original Australians have become exceptionally marginal and excluded as well as being referred to as Aboriginals.
In your case also you are already an aboriginal candidate based on your future plans.
