Next target: Eritrea

Now that Ethiopia’s ruling junta has successfully decimated Ethiopian opposition inside the country, it is setting its sight on removing the Government of Isaias Afwerki in Eritrea. Meles Zenawi’s intention is clear: To install a puppet regime in Asmara, as it did in Somalia. In a significant step towards that goal, Meles has set up an Eritrean transitional government with its temporary headquarters in Tigray region’s capital, Mekele. Meles is also deploying additional troops on the border with Eritrea. There are already over 80,000 troops on the border. Informed sources tell Ethiopian Review that the Meles regime has already briefed the U.S. Government about its invasion plan and is awaiting a green light. Today the 8 Eritrean opposition groups that Meles is arming and funding have announced that they have created a new military front, as reported by Sudan Tribune below:

Eritrean opposition forces create new military front

MEKELLE, Ethiopia (Sudan Tribune) – Eight Eritrean political organizations have formed a joint military front that will enable them to launch a massive and well coordinated military attacks as a strategy to depose president Issayas Afeworki’s government.

The new joint military front will replace the unsuccessful and independent attacks, says a joint statement of the groups received today by Sudan Tribune.

Kornelious Osman Agar is chairman of DMLEK, Democratic Movement for the Liberation of Eritrean (KUNAMA), one among the eight organizations militarily jointed. He says the formation of the front is a major step forward to the whole struggle and a big blow to Asmara, where it’s only legal party the people’s Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ) doesn’t recognize the existence of other political forces.

“This is a good will and successful achievement to the ongoing struggle and creation of the joint front by those organizations with military wings grants the political leadership a road map on to how to topple the Eritrean regime,” Kornelious Osman Agar told Sudan Tribune.

“Now Eritrean political organizations have gone beyond managing their political differences and we are witnessing a conversion to a united military joint force.”

“This Converged political military force belongs to eight different political groups; the nature of the military wing by itself demonstrates a big blow to Issayas government who undermines our existence and united struggle,” He stressed.

The opposition leader said that the attacks against Eritrean government will involve Eritrean refuges residing in Ethiopia.

“We have invited Eritrean refugees in Ethiopia to join us in the struggle to overthrow regime. We are ready to accommodate them but that will fully be based on their consent;” Kornelious said further hinting time being approaching for the launch of the massive strikes.

“We all political organizations assume very efficient and effective unity and when we are ready to scarifies together with same principle and for same line then we will start to jointly strike, but I believe time to strike is now.”

  1. Should the war start with Eritrea, i will definitely join it to defend my country, but i have one precondition, that is only if the Ethiopian PM daughter return back from Oxford to join the fight cause i do not think that Meles should count on only on poor people’s blood.

  2. Elias,
Don’t you even worry about it! I know these hapless riffraff that are based in Mekele. They are no match to the Eritrean government forces. This is an empty and very hallow rhetoric and blowing off some hot air. Meles knows he does not have a fat chance of getting to our freedom fighters for he would have to face in Shabia first. This is only a dream that the Weyanes and their handlers entertain. Ato Isaias has said it in no uncertain time that co-operation with Ethiopian freedom fighters is a non negotiable issue as long as the Ethiopians realize that there is more to be gained by mutual relationship. So, these lifeless and really inept and clueless groups are simply writing their death wish and that is just fine with me.

  3. Please! I would say let the Meles’ gang try, and may be that will be when he’ll loose his power grip this time around. As the proverb in Tirinya (Eritrea) goes, (translation) ‘you don’t find what you planned,’ ‘instead, you get what events transpire…’ So, all you agames that are contemplating some more craze, I would say go ahead and try. Remeber, Eritrea has always been under sanction, be it economic or military. Eritreans know how to do the job with little, and God willing, not only you, but your masters will be surprised.

  4. I don’t think the woyane dogs will take that rout but if they are they should kiss their behind bye.

1st Ethiopians are not going to involve in this last time around we lost so many of our brothers for what only for the benefit of woyane and they told us they are awarded the disputed lands to Ethiopia and we find out later that was lie.

  5. Mr. Elias,
I appreciate the concern. Not to worry Eritrea is in good hand. The question is when are our good friends in Ethiopia learn? I told you long time ago forget about the hallow Zenawi election. It should be halted and completely ignored by the Ethiopian opposition. The Weyane understands one thing and that is force. Ethiopian should get organized and claim Ethiopia on their own. Don’t expect help for the bustard interest group. They give a dump about Ethiopia misery as long their interest is intact. Zenawi has sold his sole to the interest group beyond return. Ethiopian should think of eradicating the weyane junta once for all. If that didn’t happen forget the very existance of Ethiopia as a nation. Every Ethiopian must organize abroad and support EPPF, ONLF OLF and TPDM who are given the only life they posses for Ethiopia’s unity. Every Eritrean I know like to see a stable and prospers Ethiopia not Ethiopia that is a can do it of others. Remember, for those that help them selves God will help them too.

  6. When I think about these opposition groups who are serving little meles I said to my self the so called these sell outs how low can they get. Before jebha was kicked out of Eritrea jebha used to collect taxation from Ethiopian who used to live in arabic countries most of them prostitutes. Jebha itself did a political prostitution. It did not help it any thing. After some time it was kicked out of Eretrea. Those meles’s parasite who are living in tigray are of no good. Jebha and its kinds are no a fighting kind. they are good though at fund collection.

  7. The Ethiopian dictator will never dare to attack Eritrea because he knows that his actions have consequences. Meles Zenawi is a crazy tyrant but he is not suicidal.

  8. I think, the so called Eritrean opposition are an insult to Eritrea and the Eritrean people. They will not bring any good to Eritrea because they haven’t done any good to themselves. They live and piss under the stinky weyane underarm. In my opinion, No Eritrean in his/her right mined should take them serious especially, those in Addis Ababa. Their political thinking is outdated and they’re power hungry losers. Eritrea is in good hand! what Eritrea need is peace not opposition popping up like a mushroom every day.

    PEACE TO ERITREA AND ETHIOPIA!

  9. I anticipated this for a long time now. Melese is supported 100% by West for reason. Whether he like it or not Melese has to destabilize Eritrea as he did in Somalia. Next is Sudan. Melese is trapped in his own making. He has no choice but serve Western interest. He is an isolated Individual. His life is in Western hand. Mark my word, he will invade Eritrea and create a new ethnically fractured Eritrea and then will facilitate the break up of Sudan. At that point his mission is accomplished and get retirement in Western capital. Ethnically fractured East Africa continue to bleed to the point of extinction.

  10. What I cannot understand is why should the rest of the Ethiopian so called nationalities fight for what the Tigrian have created the mess to begin with. If here is a war, let the Tigrean defend their own land and people, since the whole mess is brought by their leader and party.

  11. Esayas Afewerk waited too long before he looks at the posibility of removing Meles Zenawi from power. The opposition in Ethiopia cannot even bite and break a carrot let alone to bite Woyane and make it feel. I just heard their interview on VOA they are all in agreement and accepted the looted election.

  12. First of all war against Eritrea is just hot air. Secondly, the ethiopian opposition forces r real opposition but the “eritrean opposition forces” r merely mercenaries for hire. So which group do u think will the the job right? Of course those who fight from the heart and not those who fight for money.

  13. Wow!!!!
We Ethiopians need to be ready I think
Woyane has already finished it’s contract.
Every Ethiopian have seen the good’s & Bad’s so what would be next? Be one and take our country from failure.
Woyane has already shown as that he want to
go hell with the results of the so called election we have a good opportunity at this moment to liberate our mother land from the servants.
By any analysis the so called election results have shown the skeleton of woyanee going to its final grave.
Oppositions do not try to mislead our people if you are after your personal interest or messenger to any western or to be a puppet think twice.
we must work for the whole region and make all sided effort for good.
Forget the mercenaries so called Eritrean oppositions we 100% know them they are there for Meles and for personal interest I can assure you they are the worst group of people.
The puppet Meles Zenawi is the one who creates them and he has assigned one general for terror work which would be the last age of all of them.
Strength and success ( Victory ) to the Beloved Ethiopia – Eritrean people.
    Death to Woyane!!!!!!!!!!!
    Thank you Elias.

  14. The problem of Ethiopian oppositions is their reliance on Western powers. Western powers has no interset on Melese or opposition but on their own long term intersts. Ethio geopletics was desingned 20 years ago with intent of its break at the moment of notice. That objective is achieved. Ethiopia is now 100% at mercy of its handlers. Just ask one question to yourself what would happen if Western gives recognistion to Oromia? Why Melese/ Ethiopia got Western unconditional support today? As one British diplomat put it recently, “we don’t have other friends in the region. We need stable government in Ethiopia despite poor democratic records of the regime”. This diplomatic term implies that no other client states in the region that promotes the western interest for now. Once Eritrea, Somalia and Sudan become clients, then democracy will be the talk of the day in Western capital and 9 states will be recognized from one Ethiopian Empire. It is a tragedy for modern Ethiopian intellectuals allowing this to happen while the evidence is everywhere on the wall where Ethiopia is going.

  15. Fellow Ethiopians, I ask this with a sincere heart: how long will we continue to go along with Meles and his agenda, which he says is in our name? How blind will we continue to be? It will no longer be an excuse to say, ‘I didn’t know’ when it is too late. Rise up now and defeat this enemy of freedom.
You can say what you want of Isayas, but at least he refuses to be a puppet, dancing on a string controlled by Washington and the world banks.
Democracy can only come from within…history has shown it can never be imposed from the outside. Who are we to go to Eritrea when we can’t even feed our own people? If we really care about freedom and democracy, we will target Meles and his gangsters, not some manufactured outside enemy.

  16. The fool Meles may try to invade Erteria. He proved to me he is an idiot when he declared 99.9% the winner of may election. Meles is more vulnerable than Eayays Afework. A person like me who supported vigorously Meles during the past Ethio-Erterian war deeply regret doing that. This days if Meles start war with Erteria, I am 100% with Esayas and support him in any way possible. Meles goes to war with Erteria not for the best interest of Ethiopians instead his effort is part of his calculation to enslave Ethiopians. He is targeting Esayas because He is hosting opposition groups. This Meles war is against Ethiopian interest and all Ethiopians should support Esayas if in case any war started b/n the two countries.

  17. I do not think the West will allow invasion of Eritrea since they know that Woyane does not have support from within and any attempt to invade would only escalate regional instability more.
However, what has been achieved by Eritrean oppositions is remarkable and should be a glaring lesson for TPLF oppositions.
All of us should soberly think about our common objectives and differences find ways of achieving common front. If there is any opposition that hopes such invasion and the resultant instability as an opportunity for that oppositions success is making a grave mistake. Look for common grounds, reconcile, cooperate and doom Woyane in unison.

  18. the dumbest idea ever to try take down Eritrean government. Even though the government shows tough love to its people,90% of the population supports the government regardless. I would to see these guys try, it will be a joke. I’m going back straight from Canada to take those U.S. puppets down myself

  19. I remember we all supported Woyane, because they promise to get back Assab and our defence forces to have lunch in Asmara, we didn’t get neither, instead we realized that Badme belongs to Eritrea. What a lie and empty promise!!!

This time we better support Eritrea that way they can get rid off Woyane for us, and God willing they can offer the lunch promised by Woyane in Asmara, served for our defence forces in MEKELE….
