  1. I knew it was going to happen, there is no way that weyane would give the chance for oppositions to gain people’s attention anymore in Ethiopia. Most weyane members and supporters are still regretting for giving a little chance as a whole like a little needle back in 2005 for oppositions, which exposed the weyane reality. So gobez lets stop knocking the doors of weyane and begging them. Lets start nagging their heads with bullets, but to me in order to start an armed struggle, we should start it from cities and towns by targeting the weyane officials. Otherwise if we start armed struggle as a gorilla fighter weyane would send our brothers so that we can kill each other for ever, while the major weyane officials and members are having a good time around major cities by cheawing chatt during day time and by drinking black label and high classy liquors with a very beautiful city girls. So lets organize our selves either under Ginbot 7 or any political party to start targeting the weyane officials around city areas. that is when we can win weyane very easily.

  2. They have to join Ginbot 7.If they decide to stay in that line they will be like Beyene and others who do nothing for the establishemnet of democracy.they have to get out of that

  3. UDJ must of necessity join Ginbot7.The room for a peaceful struggle is long overdue. Therefore, they should join ranks with the mass or popular movement and forge ahead until Woyanne steps down by hook or crook!

  4. Source close to UDJP has just informed Abugida that the woyanne regime tried to hinder the general assembly meeting of UDJP which is to be held tomorrow, June 14, 2008 at the Imperial Hotel. However, the meeting will be held and broadcast as scheduled based on the back up plan.

  5. when are the kinijit leaders wake up from their sleep .
3 years have passed and still they dont understand what woyanne wants .i feel very sorry for Birtukan, prof Mesfin,Dr yakob and other’s who are fooled by “peace full struggle” hehehheheh . the only way to get rid this “bandas” from power is Armed struggle / or joing Ginbot 7 and from a exile Government and fight woyanne .

  6. Elias please check if the Hailu Group involves in this dirty game . i feel Eng Hailu may have worked out with woyanne Agent to distrub the meeting . you remeber he did the same thing last time when Birtukan vist him in minsotta he told them to come back on friday knowing that they will have a puplic meeting in seatle washington the same day .

  7. This is exactly the type of leadership and dedication Ethiopians expect from their leaders. My hats off to Engineer Gizachew and associates, facing the beast face to face. This is the way to beat Woyanie in its own game. No matter what happens tomorrow, Woyanie is clearly exposed and the designated looser.

UDJP, stay on course and continue to be TPLF’s worst headache and we are 100% with you. We have enough demagogues roaming Europe and America that have specialized in cursing the TPLF from a safe distance, in Cafes and 4th rate meeting rooms a profession. We need people of principled actions like Gizachew, Bertukan, Dr. Hailu, Dr. Yacob and Prof. Mesfin etc.

  8. As far as Meles Seitanawi (Zenawi) is in power, there will never be good progress for UDJ; therefore, UDJ must move out from this Woyanne-infected City and come to Washington or go to London, and from there it is possible to bring down the Woyanne regime by exposing Woyanne’s wickedness to the world, particularly to the United States and to the European Union.

    UDJ CONGRESS BANNED !

At about 4 o’clock pm today, the police told Unity for Democracy and Justice (UDJ)—former CUDP—that it cannot hold its Founding Congress which was scheduled to be held at the Imperial Hotel, tomorrow, Saturday, June 14, 2008. Their excuse is that we do not have prior permission for holding a public gathering. Peaceful assembly is guaranteed by the Ethiopian Constitution. There is no law that requires obtaining prior permission for indoor gathering. The hotel reservation was made over two weeks ago. The Hotel Management had informed the relevant authorities on the details of the gathering – a usual practice – over a week ago and were told that it could go ahead as scheduled. Then, suddenly, there came this ban on a Friday, at the end of the day’s working hours, followed by a weekend. We believe that this was a deliberate measure calculated to prevent the Congress from taking place. It is an illegal measure that violated our constitutional right. Over 400 delegates were to attend the Congress at the Imperial Hotel. Two-thirds of these delegates have come from the Regions. The rest are from Addis. UDJ had spent over four months painstakingly preparing for this Congress. The preparation started with the gathering of founding-members signatures from throughout the country, the preparation of documents such as the Programme and Bylaw and the selection of delegates. We started our preparations with the full knowledge of the National Electoral Board. We have invested about 300,000 birr on this Congress and on various preparations leading to it. We are examining several options on what to do next. One of the options is to hold the Congress in-house: on the premises of our office. The space available is very limited, weather condition is not favorable. We may have to make drastic adjustments in our programme such as limiting activities, without affecting vital ones, and extending the meeting by a half day. We see the present obstacle before us as a challenge. The Congress will be held, if not tomorrow, then soon.
