Back in service

Dear readers,

EthiopianReview.com’s server had crashed on Tuesday morning causing the site to be down for the past three days. We have been working feverishly to fix the problem. We lost 4 days of data, and we are yet to restore the Forum and other sections of the web site. For now the front page is partially up and Top Stories section is also functioning now. All the other sections will be restored shortly.

On behalf of my colleagues at Ethiopian Review, I would like to thank those of you who sent us emails expressing your concerns and best wishes.

  7. I was worried the Weyane long arm got to Elias. I am glad the Weyane spying agency (AMORAW) did not get to you, Elias. The benefit of living in the West is that the Weyane long arm cannot get you, if you were in Kenya or Djibouti you would have been history.

  8. For three days, I was in a bad mood, and I emailed to my friend Elias Kifle that I was not connected to ER. Elias, kind of him, responded to me that it was a network problem.

    I am in a good mood now because the network problem has been solved; however, I would like to know why the EthiopianReview.com’s Server crashed.

    God bless those who worked hard and restored the crashed server, and we are now in business again.

  12. I am glad to see it back in service! ER is the only solid bridge and voice of the voiceless Ethiopian people to the outside world that we have left. It’s the ears and eyes of our oppressed people. The last two days had proved to me how much ER meant for those of us who care about the endless suffering of our Ethiopian people in hands of the Tigrains thugs rulers. If needed to, let us contribute or donate whatever we can afford to make this Ethiopian pride website the greatest ever.     I’m glad your happiness has turned to sorrow when Elias Kifle reappeared with his educational programs, peaceful engagement with the Horn of Africa, and democratic vision for Ethiopia.

    You fool! Eritreans are Ethiopians, and Ethiopians are Eritreans: they all are brothers and sisters; once the stumbling block – Meles Seitanawi – is removed, the two countries will establish a lasting friendship between their citizens, and Elias Kifle has been working hard to see these two independent countries live together, work together, and respect each other, and he will succeed, but you will be disappointed.     The fact that the ER server crashed on Tuesday,more than anything else,suggests that the hands of the FRUSTRATED masters of the Woyanes and the Woyanes themselves,have been involved, simply because of the SUCCESSFUL World Wide Demonstration where the Ethiopian flag was hoisted side by side with its Eritrean counterpart ,pointing to a new venue of struggle against neocolonial interests in our region.

    Unequivocally, the Eritrean Diaspora has shown to the Masters of the Woyanes who devised the sanctions that there is nothing to isolate other than their puppy; to that outcome, the Ethiopian presence added a new dimension to the PEOPLES rejection of the neocolonial designs. More is to come!!

    I am so happy to see you and ER back. I missed ER very much and I was so sad during the time it was offline.

    This site is very important to a lot of people and if you are not planning already, my suggestios is that you may need to design a Failover Cluster for high availability, so this issue doesn’t happen again. Ofcourse, this will add to your expenses, but surely I and other ER followers will be willing to contribute money to alleviate the cost.

    And please tell us the nature or cause of the failure, if you can.

    Please Stay Strong and take good care of yourself wendim Elias.

    Is the problem normal technical one or an attack by culprits? What ever the cause of the problem I was distress. I hope you will recover all your essentials soon.
    I cannot spend a day without checking my ER for simple reason; ie; the most unwavering anti woyane and freedom fighter website we Ethiopians take it for granted. ER hits woyane on the spine hard that is why all subhuman woyanes are trying hard to eliminate it.

    I am glad you are back. I know those servers expensive, and they cost money to maintain, even it wouldn’t be a good idea to have a reserve. So, if money is an issue, please let us know and we could do what we could, to many people will be happy to contribute for this room.

I find this when I open a new tab.Ans it is always the case. Because he is a devoted jornalist working on Liberation of Ethiopia from the misery of the ethnic oligarch, the site is my home. I only say joy for me, Ethiopian Review lead by the most practical Elias Kifle is back.

    Welcome back. Keep up the anti woyane struggle. Now as they control the money they could buy evil agents to do all sorts of damage. TPLF spynetwork agents are running here and there as the demise of the cancerous party is approaching. Eritreans and Ethiopians are blod related. They shall come together to eliminate the evils.

  50. Lost data ouch. I use R1Soft’s backup software to backup our linux systems and databases. If you have a small amount of data, you can typically find backups using this system for $35-50/mo. The system takes a full snapshot of your server so you can recover from critical failures.

    At rackAID, we have data vaults in Dallas, DC, and NYC so we can keep backups safely away from primary server.
