Djibouti says Eritrean army entered its territory

It is to be remembered that last year the president of Djibouti had handed over to Ethiopia’s fascist dictator 8 helicopter pilots who sought political asylum in his country. Djibouti government officials from the president on down are a bunch of khat-addicted prostitutes.

Djibouti has accused Eritrea of violating its border by sending troops into its territory.

BBC NEWS — “The two armies are facing each other. The situation is explosive,” said Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh.

Eritrea has denied accusations that its soldiers had dug trenches on the Djibouti side of the border.

The Arab League and the African Union have urged both sides to avoid any action that could lead to an escalation of the long-running border dispute.

The Djibouti leader said he had asked both bodies to help arbitrate.

They are reportedly sending fact-finding missions to the area.

The two countries clashed twice over their mutual border in the 1990s and nearly went to war.

Both US and France have military bases in Djibouti.

  2. My sympathy is with Eritrea because that tiny Djibouti is busy collecting all the external forces that are unfriedly towards Eritreans and deliberately teasing Eritrea and through such behaviors force Eritrea to divert scarce resources to ongoing self defence activities.

On the other hand, Eritrea needs to be careful as not to close its eyes and jump high and direct in to Djibouti like Saddam Hussein of Iraq and his Baathist party did.

On August 2.1990 Saddam Hussein sent his large army to Kuwait and captured the tiny country with lightening speed, but the dramatic consequensces of the invasion is all too clear through the so called mini gulf world war that followed.

The strong hangover of that war and all the attendant reseasons are still causing serious head, stomach, joint and muscle pains followed by vomits and passing aways with no durable end in sight.

But times are different though. Bush leaving office while Abboma taking office. Jacques Chirac out of power while Sarkozy moved in to power. Weak Olmert fidgeting while others are gigling.Too rich neighbours supporting and with Eritrea while fire fighting Melles is marching down to the marshy area, etc.

  3. Such accusation is called: WEYANE ACT 4; Let me go through the first 3 Weyane’s act. Weyane act 1- the war between Ethio-Eritrean wich killed unspecified number of Ethio-Eritreans and billions of dollars worth of destruction. Above all the hatred that is burning like a fire between the people of Tigry, Eritrea, and Ethiopia. Weyane act 2- the invasion of Somalia to appease the American war on terror wich will take generations to fix such hatred and destruction. Weyance act 3- the land swaps (oil vs fertile land)of the greater Ethiopia; last but not least Weyane act 4- Djoubiti accuses Eritrea of so and so; my fellow brothers and sisters there is only one more country that had little affect by the weyane’s and that is Djoubiti. Remember Djoubiti and weyane depend on each other in many ways; however, their prime interests are the amount of money that both earn due to the ports. By estimates Djoubiti and the owners of the port (Dubai) make nearly $500 million dollars each month; while the weyanes make upto $400 million dollars a year. Now you know who is the pushing for the buttons of war in Djoubiti. Many regional experties believe weyanes are pushing the Djoubit officials as to paint Eritrea as aggressor on all front otherwise the Ethiopia’s pay for the port use might be muted! now you know why!

  4. I am very sure that TPLF warriors will join the Eritrean army and fight Djibouti as TPLF’s Sebhat Nega once said “We fought for Eritrean independence from the colonial rule of Ethiopia. Even now, if Eritrea is attacked, TPLF would jump into Eritrea, join the Eritrean people and engage the enemy.” What do u think Elias?

  5. oh Well what can one expect from a country that hosts both French and american military bases on its tiny soil and deports innocent ethiopians back to the blood thirsty mekele thugs. What can one expect from a government that allow USA war planes to fly from its own soil and bombard innocent somali children and women.

i don’t think Eritreans crossed into Dijubuti’s borders.Lets say they did, there is no reason to go to war.We must all learn a lesson from the devestating Eri-Ethio war in 98/00 and solve our probelms on the table instead of a battle field. The Arab league has alreday sent a ‘fact finding group’ to the area and will tell us who is on the wrong side of justice soon. But the Dijbuti’s president and ministers seem to go out of their way to send letter to almost every organization they know exists and asking them to interviene. It seems to me that, they are trying to make a case to go to war. Oh well, we know that Dijbuti’s few hundred soldiers can never face upto the 150,000 almighty eritrean fighters. But we must know that this is another conspiracy unfolding in our region and refuse to shed our blood for simple probelms that can be solved in court.

Here is what i think is happening between Eritrea and Dijbuti. Eritrea is accused of supporting somali fighters, other oppressed ethiopian people’s freedom fighters including the EPPF(Ethiopian People’s Patriotic Front) and refuses to be another USA puppet regime in our region, USA wants to destablize Eritrea just like how erased somalia off of the map.Neither Sudan nor Yemen will take the offer from USA, so they hired our tiny neighbour to do their dirty job just like how they hired weyane to destroy somalia. It all boils down to USA’s evil foreign policy of wanting to interfere in our horn african affairs, keep us poor and starved to death.

I hope the eritrean government stays silent and refuses to participate in this open invitation of war from Dijubuti.i hope eritrea continues to play it’s positive role of supporting ethiopian people and other oppressed people in our region.i hope that this puppet regime in mekele and dijubuti perish soon so that we can build a stronger Horn africa.

  6. They are Africans, but they want to colonize other African countries. Their reasoning for enslaving their own other Africans is based on fear and shameless ambition.

Ethiopia wants to colonize Somalia, and if Ethiopia wants to colonize Somalia, then Eritrea wants to colonize Djibouti. On the other hand, if Ethiopia colonizes Somalia and if Eritrea colonizes Djibouti, then Sudan wants to colonize Gondar.

Ethiopia has a green light from Washington to take Somalia and integrate it with Ethiopia. In that way, terrorism would have no resting place in East Africa, and Ethiopia’s fear about Somalia’s slogan – “greater Somalia” – will be eliminated for ever.

Eritrea fears that if Ethiopia takes Somalia, then Ethiopia will become too strong and too powerful to defeat in a-near-future war with Eritrea, and Ethiopia may take Djibouti and its sea port too, so it is a must for Eritrea to amass its military power inside the territories of Djibouti, and when the right time comes, Eritrea will take the entire country of Djibouti by its military power.

Motivated, encouraged, and perhaps economically supported by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and other Arab countries, Sudan thinks it has lost Darfur and the southern region; therefore, it must make a risky adventure by taking Gondar entirely with or without the consent of Meles Seitanawi, and at the same time, Sudan believes it is legitimate to make such a move by taking Gondar by military force and integrating it with the Khartoum government since Somalia and Djibouti, two Muslim countries are taken by two rival Christian countries Ethiopian and Eritrea respectively.

In the 19th century, it was the Germans, the French, the British, the Italians, and the Dutch who were competing with each other to parcel Africa into pieces and take each piece for themselves. Today, however, it is the Africans who are trying to colonize their neighbor countries for economic, religious, and political reasons.

  7. Eritrea has not invaded Djibouti. Ras Dumera is in Eritrea. What Eritrea is doing is what Eritrea has been doing for the last 15 years. They are building a hotel and other infrastructure. For those people whom may not know the area there is no hotel or even road to speak of in the desolate part of the area. So, the idea of building some rest area makes economic sense and is being built by Eritrea on Eritrean territory. So what is the fuss by the moron and Weyane stooge foreign minister of Djibouti for all the fan fare. Even his French masters have stated that “Their reconnaissance flights indicate that some civilian project is underway by Eritrea on their side of the border. by the way, the same foreign minister has accused Eritrea of invading his country when he was in a visit in Yemen back in 1996, only to be retracted by the then president of Djibouti as misinformation. Folks what is sad about the issue is not that Eritrea has invaded anything, but how we Africans have really become subservient to foreign interests by doing their dirty work,Eritrea has not invaded Djibouti. Ras Dumera is in Eritrea. What Eritrea is doing is what Eritrea has been doing for the last 15 years. They are building a hotel and other infrastructure. For those people whom may not know the area there is no hotel or even road to speack off in the desolute part of the area. So, the idea of building some rest area makes economic sence and is being built by Eritrea on Eritrean territory. So what is the fuss by the moron and Weyane stooge foreign minister of joubouti for all the fan fare. Folks what is sad about the issue is not that Eritrea has invaded anything, but how we Africans have really become subservient to foreign interests by doing their dirty work! How long are we going to be subservient to the colonizers?
