Kinijit representatives meet the press

Posted on

The acting chairman of Kinijit International Leadership (K.I.L.), Dr Moges Gebremariam, and the Secretary General, Ato Berhane Mewa, held a press conference with several Ethiopian media representatives on Saturday.

The questions to the Kinijit top representatives evolved around the recent bungled mediation between the K.I.L. and the splinter group of four individuals led by former chairman Shaleqa (Major) Yoseph Yazew.

Dr Moges told the journalists, publishers, and radio hosts who participated in the press conference that the mediation with the shaleqa group has turned out to be a fraud. The shaleqa had used the mediation as a sinister ploy to destroy the K.I.L. and create a new structure. The two mediators — whose trip to the Unites States was financed by the shaleqa group — have been used for this ploy. According to Dr Moges, his repeated request to meet face to face with members of the splinter group was not accepted, indicating that there was no genuine interest on the part of the shaleqa group for dispute resolution. The only time Dr Moges met with the shaleqa was to sign the agreement. He said that he signed the agreement on behalf of K.I.L. to give the mediators the benefit of the doubt despite the shaleqa group’s demonstrated lack of goodwill.

Ato Berhane on his part said that neither the shaleqa nor the mediators had said any thing about adding 11 individuals before they signed the agreement that require them to rejoin K.I.L. Ato Berhane added that the plan to add 11 individuals was not the issue; it is the way it was presented — i.e., without consulting any of the existing K.I.L. members. It has also been confirmed that the plan was not sanctioned by the top leaders in Qaliti, and that they are deeply disappointed by the shaleqa’s and the mediator’s extremely disruptive act.

Dr Moges and Ato Berhane took turns to explain that K.I.L. is operating under the directive sent by Qaliti in May last year and a subsequent letter signed by Ato Hailu Shawel with the unanimous agreement of all the top leaders. Even the shaleqa and the “mediators” could not deny this fact. One of the fundamental aspects of the directive is that K.I.L. must carry out its responsibilities and handle internal and external affairs by establishing its own rules and procedures. The Qaliti directive instructs the K.I.L. not to come back to the jailed leaders any more and that if disagreements arise, they must be resolved by votes of the majority.

Previously, the illiterate shaleqa had tried to disband the K.I.L. on his own. When that didn’t work, he is now trying to pack it with his friends. It is not known who told the shaleqa that he has dictatorial powers. Apparently, rules and procedures mean nothing for this person. The K.I.L. was created to speak and act on behalf of the jailed leaders until they are released. If Additional 11 individuals are needed, it should have been discussed and approved by the K.I.L. members.

Both Dr Moges and Ato Berhane have emphasized the point that the so-called “plan” to create a 23-member council and a communist party-like structure with a politburo is the work of the shaleqa group. Such an outdated organizational structure was not designed by Qaliti. The jailed leaders were not aware of it and do not support it.

Ethiopian Review has learned that the “plan to restructure” K.I.L. was in fact presented to Ato Hailu by Shaleqa Yoseph’s wife while he was receiving treatment for his eye condition in a hospital last month. It was read to him and falsely told that it was agreed upon by all the K.I.L. members and the “mediators.” Ato Hailu’s response was that, as he and his colleagues had indicated in the past, the K.I.L. has the mandate to carry out any plan as long as it was in accordance with its own rules and procedures and in line with Kinijit’s political platform.

Dr Moges and others have informed the eleven individuals who were invited by the shaleqa group to join their new anti-K.I.L. outfit about its fraudulent nature. Out of the eleven, only four have decided to go ahead and accept the invitation, disregarding the information they have received. The rest have understood the motive behind the plan and declined. Ato Kifle Mulat, president of the Ethiopian Free Press Journalists Association, consulted members of his association who gave him a unanimous advise to stay away from the shaleqa group. The EFJA members recommended to Ato Kifle Mulat that if he wants to help the jailed leaders, he can use his position as a prominent civic leader to serve as a mediator and advisor. Ato Kifle has demonstrated what an integrity and organizational discipline means by consulting with and heeding the advise of members of his association.

To the surprise and shock of many, one of the four individuals who decided to join the shaleqa is the president of Ethiopian Teachers Association, Dr Taye Woldesemayat. Dr Taye has been a persistent critic of Kinijit, including the jailed leaders, for the past 2 years. On top of that, Dr Taye’s dislike for Ato Hailu Shawel is not a secret. It is said that this is the main reason for his declining an invitation to join Kinijit before the 2005 elections. The commonly held assumption is that Dr Taye was invited by the shaleqa group to give political cover for their plot against K.I.L. As to why he accepted their invitation is anybody’s guess. But no body believes that it is because he wants to help the jailed leaders, whom he referred to as “gim le gim abro yazgim” a few months after they were thrown in jail.

Appeals are currently pouring from Kinijit supporters around the world to Dr Taye to stop serving the shaleqa’s destructive mission. Instead, he needs to return to representing the interest of the Ethiopian teachers as president of their association. A petition drive is also being organized to request Dr Taye to disassociate himself from the shaleqa’s ploy before further damage is done. Dr Taye is being advised that if he wishes to help Kinijit, he can do it effectively as an independent mediator, such as the role being played by renowned artist Tamagn Beyene and Prof. Alemayehu Gebremariam.

The other three who accepted the invitation are not well known individuals. It seems that the only known qualification they meet is their personal friendship to the shaleqa.

The shaleqa group has previously tried a similar tactic to destroy or neutralize K.I.L. Last September, after walking out of the K.I.L., they had created a group called Kinijit Global Council. They had also launched a radio broadcast to Ethiopia which was primarily used to attack K.I.L. Since they are a discredited bunch accused, among other things, of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from Kinijit, they could not mobilize popular support for their anti-K.I.L. creation. After realizing that their effort couldn’t bring result, they brought the so-called mediators from Ethiopia, paid for all their travel expenses and have carried out this latest anti-K.I.L. plot. At one point, when the two mediators, Dr Bezabeh Demissie and Shaleqa Admasu Melaku, tried to act independent, the shaleqa group cut off their expenses and had the hotel kick them out. For a while they were stranded until Ato Solomon Bekele rented an apartment for them and put them on salary. By any definition the two individuals cannot be called independent mediators. They are nothing more than the shaleqa group’s employees working to provide cover for the group’s insidious scheme against K.I.L.

Regarding what steps to take in response to the creation of the sham Kinijit International Council, Ato Berhane said that the K.I.L. is sending a letter to the gang of  four — Shaleqa Yoseph Yazew, Ato Solomon Bekele, Dr Seyoum Solomon and Dr Almaz Zewdie — asking them to rejoin K.I.L based on the memorandum of understanding they signed. If they fail to attend the K.I.L. meeting this week, Ato Berhane said that they will be replaced by other individuals without further delay.

Ato Berhane also said that the shaleqa group must return all the Kinijit assets they have placed under their personal possession to the appropriate authorities under the K.I.L. in compliance with the agreement they signed.

In a related news, Ethiopian Review has discovered that out of the $250,000 the shaleqa diverted to his personal account last September, less than $100,000 remain. If Dr Taye decides to ignore appeals for him to disassociate himself from the shaleqa group, one of the first things he will try to get his hands on is that left over money, not to mention Kinijit’s web site and other properties to which the shaleqa and his friend in Los Angles, Ato Moges Brook, claim personal ownership. Dr Taye is said to be a man of integrity and high morals. If that’s true, he will not allow the shaleqa group to continue holding Kinijit’s property as their personal possession. We will wait to see what justification they will give not to hand over the Kinijit properties in their possession to Dr Taye and members of the sham group’s “politburo.” That’s if they last more than a couple of weeks.

In the mean time, K.I.L. seems finally to have decided to take strong measures that will help end the debilitating internal crisis caused by the shaleqa group. Dr Moges has acknowledged that he and his colleagues had made a mistake in that they should have implemented the K.I.L.’s rules and procedures to handle the crisis, instead of allowing the shaleqa group to paralyze Kinijit for this long. The lesson to be learned here is that when you make a deal with thieves and scoundrels, you will get burned every time.

  1. Thank you EthiopianReview for this timely expose. It is a scathing but much needed article. The Shaleqa group is committing treason of historical proportions. KIL has to forge ahead. Kinijit supporters worldwide have to redouble their efforts. The shenanigans of the Shaleqa group need to be aired in public so no one is fooled. EthiopainReview’s contribution in this respect is a commendable public service.

  2. Kudos! Ethiopian Review,

You guys have been the true children of Ethiopia and hope will continue to be. I appreciate your news coverage and timing. What amazes me is your persitance to do what ever is possible and sometimes beyond, I belive. Sometimes I am wondering if you guys have time to sleep or take a rest at all. Be vigilant and keep it up.

    thanks

  3. Are we fighting the enemy of Ethiopia: weyanea or we are sabottaging it-ONE OF THE GROUP IS DEFINATELY A MESSANGER OF WEYANEA-I HAVE NO DOUBT IN MY MIND .I DONOT KNOW WHCIH ONE -GOD BLESS ETHIOPIA .OUR TRUE ELECTED LEADERS ARE -THE GENUINE ETHIOPIAN LEADERS . As for the support group whther in KNA or KIL I really donot know ??/Sadly I DO have more questions than answers

  4. ER: Good report.
Keep up the fact findings. A timely and constructive analysis of the situation. Good that Ato Berhane Mewa and Dr.Moges are to take a bold decision in the near future, which is expected from a leader.

  5. thank u ethio review now we know the evil. it is very sham for shaleq group to plan this kind of thing to destroy KILL. if those (shaleq) groups really concerned for Ethiopia they should wait until the millennium pass because KILL have a lot of things to do befor millennium . i think it is woyanes trap to stop kill or slow down . the so called mediators from Ethiopia!!!!who are those guys? are they planing to go back Ethiopia after this ?? how come they are free to travel to USA and help Kinigit to solve it’s internal problem???
Shaleqa please stop considering Kinigit as ur 7- Eleven business…get a job!!

  6. I see this as a coup d’etat of the elected leaders. What a bad luck for the Ethiopian people. I used to like Mewa while he was a chairman of the Addis chamber of Commerce. Oh! “gud ena jirat ke wede huala new alu!” Is he so power monger man!

Ok! If I agree with what they say about Shalequa how can I accept you what you say about Dr. Taye?

You always want to stay as chairman and leader what ever it takes for the organization. I see a great danger here. A danger of division. What a shame for you power mongers!

Mewa and Guebremariam Shame on your face

  7. To all supporters of Kinjit(all type)

Do you know why your leaders are fighting among themselves? Is it about policy? Nobody thinks so b/c they are all against Woeyanes. It is just PERSONAL. It is like a tera ye mender til. You see how irresponsible are your leaders?

  8. It is with utmost saddness, I read the article provided by ER,however I have attended a meeting about a month and half ago which was conduted by DR moges, learned all the intrigue caused by individuals who has no respect to the people of Ethiopia; who lives in depervation of democratic rights. What the jailed leaders, civic right advocates and jouranlists, and others who fight unjust system in their everyday life have done to deserve such an immoral act?why the diaspora KIL supporters deserve? anyhow,I hope the truth will come out and we all be judged in the face of mothers and fathers who lost the beloved kids on the broad day light on the street of addis and other cities as well.

  9. I am really very disappointed by the article published on this website which I had a stong trust that it disminates the truth. The lies the Dr. Moges and Berhane telling the public will be soon be revelled to the public. Please do not try to get a cheap popularity by informing a faulse information. Weyanes lies are enough. What is the difference between Meles and Moges or Berhane if all three are liers?

  10. You guys, we are so tired of lessening husband and wife like fighting. It looks like back home two neghibouring womens figthing. It is so embarassing, please come to the table all of you and discuss and solve your problem instead of rushing to media. Let me ask you a simple question to all of you, have you ever think to our leader in gail??? If you do, leave every thing and work for them and for Ethiopian people, please.

    Thanks

  11. It is obvious that you are in the K.I.L camp. Your inflammatory article dressed with insults on individuals does not help bring the two camps closer. If your motive is to have a united Kinjit, you should work for that goal. The way you are doing it now is not helping the opposition in general or the Kaliti prisoners.

The only beneficiary in this dispute, partly thanks to your articles, is the Woyane leader. And you are doing a good job, intentionally or not, in helping him. Sad.

  12. ER and for you all poltical experts out there,

You can simply call yourself “mendertegna and maferia”.

The current round #2 squabble has nothing to do with struggle against the Woyannies. It is a power struggle between the disbanded member of KIL by using Kinijit’s name as a cover. Pure & simple.

    Grow up children!

The only way out from this crissis is through dialogue.

Six poltically ambitious people, who wants nothing but being in the driver sit of Kinijit can not hold 77 million people hostages.

KIL can not operate illegally. KIL can not use Kinijit Logo illegally. Not in the US and not in Europe.

  13. TO shaleqa groups

Don’t abondon your principle by coming to your senses. If you wish to do so there is still time to reclaim your respect amongst us. Remember, it is better to be defeated on principle than to win on lies.

We hold up our principle very high.
    Truth will triumph.
    dejene hailu

  14. it is really sad to see all this fight among people who claim they want to devote for the kinijit party with complete inability to resolve thier differences! they are completely consumed with their fight that they have forgot their main job.it seems clear to me that these people can’t lead the struggle anywhere to be frank! the last hope we’ve got is the jailed leaders to be released and take the position to lead the party and the country forward. after all they are the ones who millions of ethiopians followed in the first place. the kinijit diaspora leaders have proven themselves to be incapable of doing the job !!!

  15. It is amazing what you guys are trying be divisive but it is unsuccessful attempt . how many of the old KILs are elected with the paper that has been sent from Kality? Why didn

  16. It is amazing how Dr. Mogues and Ato Berhane Mewa are crying wolf just because their power is about to be shared. Their naked ambition for power and dirty tactics they want to employ this pipe dream coming to the surface. Why one would be upset the likes of Dr. Taye decided to help. Kestedamena’s conspiracy to keep the prisoners in prison and control the political movement has fallen on its face. Thank you for wise leadership of Engineer Hailu. Now they are cyring because their ambition to keep the prisoners in prison while they control the Ethiopian political forces has failed. Praise the Lord the true nature of KIL has been unmasked.

  17. The way the article is so repulsive, I could not believe what I am looking at. I could not even finish the article. Don’t get me wrong! I am totally against the Shaleqa Group and their intrigues. However, how dare you use the words like illiterate Shaleqa and all sort of stuff ” Ye Mendere Were ” Please stick to the issue and be professional. We do not need to know the nitty Gritty and tabloid. Please! let us stick to the issue.

P.s I hope Dr. Taye appologizes soon.

  18. Shame on you!!!!!

    I like this web site on open heart. Now I am counting it as the AIGA Forum; Elias please stop posting this kind of article. They have their own Kinijitethiopia; They can use that; But like ‘shaleqa’ they are using that site as their private property; But one fact is Shaleqa is willing to give his position to more energetic individual while these useless group is power mongering still now. You are saying communist etc; What is wrong with more diversified leadership; Kinijit is striving to have more members, supporters so what is wrong with an additional people in leadership;

    Be advice them to join and help the stuggle if really care for people otherwise they shoiuld leave politics do their daily business;

Please please dear Elias stop individual character assassination!!!

    Koratu

  19. To All,
Do not forget 2005 & our P.O.Cs. Freedom for P.O.Cs should be the immediate priority. Your internal fights should help this historic and noble cause. KINIJIT’s spirit has love, respect, compassion, forgiveness, and the highest standard of moral value. You better stay with this spirit wholeheartedly and make more pages of history, otherwise…

  20. To. Dr Moges and all of you KIL power hungry supporters . What seems to be the problem , when you came with the letter stating you were appointed by Kinijit leaders from Kaliti and healed the struggle a hostage for more than a year by spreading your poisonous rumor it was clear for anyone to see who you were benefiting ( for sure not the Ethiopian people or the jailed leaders ). Go and start your own organization, that you think will take you to that hot seat you seem to be longing so badly and leave alone Kinijit . Anyways, who is paying for Brhane and Andargahcw , where did they get the money.

  21. What a mess!! How can Kinijit dream to lead a country of 77 million people if it cannot put its act together? If it leaders cannot work together what miracle can one expect from such team if and when they take power? They would simply destroy each other in the process. It is sad to see people, who views themselves as political leaders, go through a childish political game.

  22. I know one thing ,the two groups need to work together.Personaly,I have not been impresed with acheivment of the past leders.I also know that, the new group includes people with good character. For instance the new secratary is not there for any personal ambition. The message of the suporters need to be let both groups work together. We erge any one to refrain from making desparaging remarks:we are not to mud slide with this.Once again, both group need to work together. We can’not afford to spend another vain year.If Dr. Moges and his group can’t work together,we may not need their service;we have seen this from them in the past.We don’t need any other excuse;we have herd it all.No one should be willing to waist valuable time over this. The Moges group are to be blamed now,for failing to work together,if this is your problem, get out of the way:I dont have any tast to here your charge and counter charge.Look either work together and led,or else we might take you to a safe house and find out whatyou are made of.Do you think this is what Ethiopians deserve:Only the likes of these “Ye wend alichas”!think we deserve this.Peew!

  23. The only way forwrd at this stage of the struggle is dumping shaleka Yosef and his supporters from Kinijit. This so-called shaleka is not only stupid moron but proved also to be a thief who stole our money. We will hold him accountable for that in due time.Eng.Hailu or Berhanu Nega did not go to prison to make the illetrate feudal (Shaleka yosef) the new king. They are in jail for Ethiopians’ democratic right.Good job ER.

  24. We were all thrilled when we heard the news that the two squabbling factions have finally agreed, on principle at least, to stop cannibalizing each other and concentrate on the enemy, WOYANIE. We were hoping these two camps have finally come to their senses to realize there is nothing to be gained through personal recrimination and name calling, that their bitter division and dislike for each other has nothing to do with Kinijit or Ethiopia, and that Ethiopians are disgusted with the lot of them and are on the verge of giving up on them.

I am not really that impressed with Berhane Mewa

  25. As an observer, it seems by now, that there is some thing one group does not know about the other and may be vice versa as well. At some point, it would be like mixing water with oil, and might as well let go off who ever does not adhere by the mandate as recently clearly stated by the recent Kality letter (Genboat?) From Chairman Hailu Shawel.

The overlapping timing of Ato Andargachew and DR. Mogus PREVIOUSLY PLANNED AND OFFICIALY POSTED engagement to be in Australia for CUD meetings and the KIC appointments date is some what an interesting coincidence. The rest just might be clearer after the CUD leaders are out.

In the mean time, what ever meeting is planned for a collective presence and hopefully all the 23 members will come with out with the proper solution.

  26. Ethio politics is ugly and stinky. Look how stupid this politicians are getting particularly the so called educated diaspora.

I hate TPLF to the bone, but beleive me these morons are worse than Meles and his gangs. All they do is character assasination. If they have bullets, they will turn Ethiopia to carnage. I pray the genuine leaders who are languishing in jail be freed and disassaciete themselves from talkative politicians.

  27. Please in the name of Almighty God, the oppressed people of Ethiopia, and the jailed freedom fighter belobved learders of ours, make a recouncilation. Please work together so that we could have a united voice that could reach to the concernd bodies and shock the tyrrants in Arat Killo. Yes we understand there could always be personal ambitions in amove for comminity good. It is clear there might be people who are not committed for the true struggle aginst the wolves sucking the blood of the people here in the home land. But who would be profitable from the division and consequent frastration of the spirit of the people both at home and in Diaspora? I should not be convinced that there is also Woyane’s hand there in your leadership/council. If that is the case you need to reconsider your composition.

Truly speaking, every news of division among the K.I.L has happened to be a disaster for us in home. We have been hopeful that your presence would liberat our leaders and further strengthend the move for freedom. Nevertheless, if you happen to be unable to organize us be half of the heroes in Qaliti, you all would be condemned for political and human crises overwholming the country.

You, in K.I.L, please make all possible ways to keep the shaleqa group under the banner of our leaders. We believe in you that your united efforts will bear fruit as Qaliti let THEM free.

    May God bless you!

  28. The only fact which I can a sure of you is that, as an asylum seeker in the Washington DC Metro area and genuine committed supporter of Ethiopian Democracy, I’m incompetently mistreated by the so called KIL-Secretary General “Berhane Mewa”. So, … ? Phone and email transaction have been documented !!

  29. I’m very grateful to this website as it showed us the true picture behind the shameful so called representatives of the Ethiopian strugle. I think it’s a problem of that generation which has had a history of destruction, bloodshade and corruption. What makes me feel sorry is the question that for how long you old beasts are gone cripple this country. I’ve known dr. Taye for many years and i totally felt resentment when i heard that he became part of this stupid and destructive activity. I would rather say go away you beaches and leave our country for us now. You’re very old and useless failures of history so to speak. Take your blood-washed hands off our people and and let us try our own way to correct what you have been doing for so many decades.

  30. Ato elias some times you not normal.this the twilve KIL member are failed and disgresed.

They cant able to keep the promise of kality.they are fighting each other to get their own popularity by the name of jailed leader and ethiopian people.both are gilty.

why you Ato Elias try to support the Mewa,Moges and Andarege groups.we ethiopian diaspora need to see true and genune leader.please stop cheating.every thing anvile soon

  31. I am sick and fed up of diaspora politics. Myself and many more are confused by all this fight against the International leadership of Kinijit. I have one comment to ER. We are happy to read your reports concerning Ethiopian politics. It is informative and but lacks quality. Sometimes you need to choose your words. Try to give it a bit of personality. Compared to Ethiomedia, your website is full of hate and the use of cheap words is mainly observed.

Regarding KIL, how on earth we can be united to fight woyanne and get our TRUE ETHIOPIANS who are languishing in jail released with the situation going on right now? The fight against woyanne is already forgotten and now the fight is between ourselves. Thanks to God, many websites (except ER) have not given a single attention on these shameful story. We in Disapora should be ashamed of ourselves. We can’t pay our share to the fight for democracy or we can’t let other people do their share. What is wrong with us?

Lets see what has been said about Dr Taye. Dr taye has paid a big price for the Ethiopian struggle towards democracy. Now he changed his position and joined Kinijit and has been assigned as a Chairman. May be this is a mistake. But what has been said on ER and in paltalk, insulting Dr Taye and humiliating him in public that doesn’t bring us any Unity between ourselves and also doesn’t help the Kinijit leaders in jail to fulfil their hope that we are continuing their fight against woyanne. Whatever you argue on this matter, I am 100% sure dr. taye or Ato Andargachew Tsige both are working day and night to change the face of woyanne. May be there might be some differences in the working conditions, but what ER and other Ethiopians who wants our leaders to be freed and democracy in Ethiopia, should do is to do a never ending negotiations between these individuals to come and work together.

I prefer Dr. Taye if he had chosen to be a an elder (himagile), and sort the things out first before taking the seat to be a chairman. That will make him an all time wise man.

  32. We need to know,we are our own enemies:self intersr, personal preferrence high mindednes, long entrenched habits;all vital players to advance personl ambition, but not to promote national interest. Some pesonl testimony, this person was born in Ethiopia, lived two years under Mengistu’s rule.Soon after those years at a very young age left the city I was living, and lived some where inside the country. After a passage of time most people left the nation, together we crossed the border and make it to the west. This man never draw a single check from that country;there is a98% chance that I may go out of this world without doing so.If this was not true I could have not shared it with you.I made this claim to say this ,I have no personal ambtion in Ethiopian politics.
At stake is the future of our country;we must be conserned and moved by the plight of the people:disease, hunger, oppression and despair has taken toll in that land for long.I believe many of the rank are in this battle, not so much for self, but for the cause of the despised, neglected and the frail.Unfortunatly, the well to do among us ,and the opinion makers, the media community, are far removed from the concerns of our people, they find ample time to bicker, slander, and divide their followers ,so that we can spent our time in endless day dream. What will be the reson for this betrayal of our people but ,greed and self interest;how callous, cold, thoughtless ,criminal is such behavior?
No matter how convincing a reasone we provide to justify our dissension ,the fact is, to this people Ethiopia remains near only in their lips ,but far from their heart. If our mind and heart was together as the case is in the rank ,we could have exploited the prevailing favorable coundition in the country:we know that is not the case with the above groups. No one can really be a true leader with out being willing to self sacrifice. This office is reserved for those who have great fortitude, and character ,that can stand the storms of life.We saw men of this caliber in Professor Asrat, and the Kelati prisoners,no matter what the coast ,they stand the tests of time, they suffered to be a hope for the hopless:for this they will be ingrained in the nations psyche in the ages to come.
Contrast this with the over seas leaders ,and some of their closest supporters:you sense they are full of self;they believe they are entitled to this position. If such is not the matter with them, why do they find it difficult to settle the minor differences among them all this time?If they can’t settle this minor case ,who is to trust they will stand against weyane? The rank who have no vested personal interest in this need to take the high road;we must breast this tide of parochial and sectarian politics ,and not swim with it.The fundamental truth we need to discover about life is: learn the art of working together to solve the nations problem;that means personal preference, partision politics, self interest, narrow circle of influence need to take the back sit.We must learn to submit those cherished preferences to the will of the majoritin the interest of the people. This requires humility of mind.We need to know each has single opinion in a ratio of 70 million inhabitants ,and the issue at hand is Ethiopia not personal.
I have respect for Elias;you hav no equal for being in the front line and figtht the enemy agressively. You deserve all the help;your site is truly Ethiopian.Neverthless,We must see to it,no matter how much we discuss in your forum, noting matters unless we have well organized and cohesive leadership in place. With this in mind ,we need to be scrupulous in our approach to the existing division in the leadership. One of the reasons these leaders continue to bicker, apart from personal greed, is they solicit support from our media so that they can keep the rivalery and the division going among us.If we want quick resolve,we may ask all our media community to hold a confrence and come up with agreement not to endorse or take aside with any faction. We must learn from the past, stay out of it!stop making disparaging remarks and don’t take side:this will force this leaders to solve their differences peacefully. We may ask the matter be solved through a closed door of mending. We need to keep in mind the government is experiancing strain in Somalia, the domestic conflict is sharpening by the day as the release of the prisoners is put on hold. This is not a time for us to bicker in suport of this or that faction:we have done this in the past, learn from it don’t go this way.Our constractive role is much neede here:we can do this only by remaining neutral and allowing them to work out the problem among them. The fact DR. Tekola Hagos harishly criticized the members of the new group by giving their bio data is suggestive that T.P.L.F is unhappy about it;which indirectly points this entity is positively Ethiopian.

  33. Now why did you remove my message?Ther is noting there profane remarks,no name calling. Are you being intolerant of opposing views? Do you really belive you have the monoply inthat countries politics.Think about this;you will be siting in the same spot ten years from now if you insist your sectarian politics will give birth freedom to Ethiopians.
Understand the issue here is Ethiopia, not Elias’s party.

  34. I was reading the article with interest. But when I got a phrase ‘illiterate shaleqa ‘, the whole point is vsin. How can you say this to an old man who was apointed as leader of KIL? Even if he might be corrupted. This phrase justifys this man. I can see who you are!!!!!!!Shamful

  35. I think Ato Elias is crazy. The main reason that I used to oppose woyanne is not depend on reasonable and rational argument but is based on hatred and personal egoistic power interest.
