Woyanne lines up 32,000 candidates for Addis Ababa alone

In preparation for next month’s fake local elections in Ethiopia, Woyanne has lined up 4 million candidates through out the country — 32,000 in Addis Ababa alone (300 per kebele council). Woyanne arbitrarily increased the number of seats in local councils to marginalize opposition parties and guarantee victory for itself. Many of the candidates are surprised to find their names in the candidates’ list representing Woyanne.     While Woyane is terrorizing our people and doing everyting in its power to stay in power, former EPRP foot soldiers and current Woyane ‘HODAM’ supporters are lending their support to it. One of these ‘HODAMs’ is Yared Bekele Mekonnen. This former EPRP foot soldier is a graduate of Addis Ababa University Law School in the 1970’s. While he was a student at the Law School he had an aquaintance (not friendship) with two individuals, who later became DERG members – viz, Colonel Fisseha Desta, later Vice President and Major Girma Yilma, later minister of information of the Derg government. While the Ethiopian revolution of 1974 erupted and EPRP was leading the anti-Derg revolution, Yared Bekele was recruited by EPRP opratives and served as a foot soldier. He was imprisoned and later on released. His father Bekele Mekonnen, who is a blood relative of Prime Minister Aklilu Habtewold, was a bureaucrat at the Ministry of mines, and his mother is of Tigrean descent. His mother passed away while he was a child. His mother had children from her first marriage. And one of her daughters – Haregewoini is currently a Woyane senior cadre and his younger brother Zekarias now serves in the so called “national intelligence service” as a Woyane agent in Addis Ababa and is said to have caused the arrest of hundreds of ‘Kinigit’ supporters. Yared Bekele, who now lives in Phoenix, Arizona is a taxi driver and a Woyane agent. All Ethiopians should be aware of this fact.     Rep. Donald Payne’s Animus for Ethiopians Finally Exposed

    As an Ethiopian-American, I read with great interest your recent article focusing upon Rep. Donald Payne’s embrace of terror-state Eritrea at the expense of U.S. allies Ethiopia and Somalia.
    I offer my congratulations to The Cutting Edge News for truly living up to your name and delivering the cutting edge revelation of Rep. Payne’s trip to Asmara. I do not recall reading about his strikingly low-profile visit to that terror-sponsoring regime in any other U.S. media outlet.

    I share Abdirahman Warsame’s righteous indignation regarding both the trip itself, as well as Payne’s “misguided” vision for the Horn of Africa. I can only scratch my head in wonderment at how an individual clearly so out of step with rational U.S. Africa policies has managed to find himself in such a powerful position.

    Evidence of just how detached Rep. Payne appears to be from reality emerged last week during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on U.S. policy options for the Horn of Africa. The transcript that I read of the hearing suggests that it was a wide-ranging conversation that competently illustrated the complex dynamics in the Horn, and explored how critical the region is in terms of American interests in Africa.

    If there was one central theme that seemed to run through the testimony of the senior U.S. officials called upon to testify before the committee, it was the overwhelmingly negative role that Eritrea continues to play.
    In her prepared statement and in answer to questions from the senators, Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer assailed Eritrea, saying its human rights record is “deplorable and is steadily declining” and accusing the regime of sponsoring instability in neighboring nations and undermining the efforts of U.N. peacekeepers along its border with Ethiopia.

    I found it heartening to hear a top administration official speaking the truth about a country that restricts religious freedom and has been accused of detaining, torturing and deporting members of minority religious parties, according to the State Department’s 2007 International Religious Freedom Report.

    Frazer also provided extensive evidence of ties between al-Qaeda and terrorist groups operating in Somalia that are funded, armed and trained by Eritrea. Just days after the hearing, the State Department added one of the deadliest of these groups, al-Shabaab to its list of Specially Designated Global Terrorist Organizations.

    With Eritrean support, al-Shabaab has undermined regional stability in the Horn of Africa by threatening Somali civilians and shooting and bombing Ethiopian and African Union troops and Somali political leaders trying to stabilize Mogadishu.

    Surely Rep. Payne has access to the same information as the State Department regarding Eritrea’s support for such repugnant terrorism. So how can it be that he seems so hell-bent on embracing this rogue regime and attacking Ethiopia?

    The senators in attendance at the hearing asked tough questions of the administration’s representatives and certainly challenged their approach to the Horn of Africa. However, not a single senator seemed to even remotely suggest that the United States should shift its alliance away from its proven ally Ethiopia and toward Eritrea. In fact, HR 2003 – the official number of the legislation introduced by Payne that would threaten the U.S.- Ethiopian relationship – was not mentioned even a single time during the course of the two-hour long hearing.

    As a supporter of a strong U.S. – Ethiopian relationship, I hope that this is a signal that the Senate will not be so quick to take up Payne’s bill, which Mr. Warsame correctly noted is a thinly disguised attempt to undercut American support for Ethiopia and drive America toward a partnership with the terror-sponsoring state of Eritrea.

    Thanks in large part to The Cutting Edge News, the unbridled animus of Donald Payne toward Ethiopia and his clear affection for Eritrea (as evidenced by his slinking off to Asmara below the radar screen during a Congressional recess) is no longer a secret. Armed with the facts, the American public is wholly justified in questioning Payne’s motives and judging him by his actions.

    Woyane/EPRDF said a couple of weeks ago that it has 4 million members throught the country.

    Now we hear that Woyane/EPRDF fields 4 million candidates for the fake election.

  3. We heard that about 28 million people already registered for this local election. It is surprising! To choose between Woyanne and Woyanne? What amazing is the people’s quiteness and silence as if nothing wrong. What can be the problem from these:A- lack of organized leadership
    B- lack of heroic nature(being scared)
    C-acceptance of Woyanne

    You can make genuine vote among these. For me, it seems B.

    – You do not find names of people passed away years ago,
    – Names of people who have left the country a while ago and
    – Names of people that never exist at all.
    Can any woyane/real one answer my question?
    “Why the hell you need all this ups-and-downs? you have proved to the world that you are to rule by hook or crook in the 2005 elections. All this waste of time and unnecessary show can not alter our perception of Woyane’s Democracy. So Why all this drama?

  8. I feel so sorry for those innocent people who drugged by force to choose wayane from wayane. Is there black and white in wayanes? What a waste? What a waste of resources and mental and physical of Voice less people. Wayane should learn from past everyone hates them in that country! Why important to list people’s name to vote for wayane if like really by people who he run but meles runs over his people.   9. Shame on wayane! Death for wayane. Who is gonna elect them. Oh offcourse those people who don’t vote will be tortured, imprisoned and killed. No free poltical opinion, no free talk. What a life! What life! What a politics! What a drama. I have never heard that people will be listed with no consent to vote for dictator and killer government such as Meles , the butcher of innocent people.

    People go out for election like they out for funeral. Because they can’t say no! They can’t say this is not a democratic way man! Oh they will be killed, there would be funeral of them so they choose to go for Meles’s funeral. Real funeral. He is dead in his life.

    Mellesse is doing all the above and more. Including the registration of tens of thousands (32,000) candidates for Addiss Abeba alone. The media reported also EPRDF is putting 4,000,000 candidates throughout the country. At the same time it refused to register the new Kinijit and Tigray based opposition party. This is in addition to threatening, intimidating, and imprisoning other opposition party members.

    Throughout ages dictators whoever and wherever they are commit the same types of crimes. Mugabe who consults with Mengistu the murder and Melesse the terrorist have the same mentality and mind set at work. They know and enjoy being thugs, killers, terrorists, and cheats. Their mind is programmed to do every thing evil. They are totally incapable of being truthful, trustworthy, honest, and dependable even for once. Unfortunately, all their likes had to face the music of their injustices and murder or the gallows. They think they are smarter than all their country men and pretend, cheat, manipulate, and lie. They enable and commit acts of treason, genocide, murder, torture, rape, and terrorize citizens. They do all this to stay in power and perpetuate dysfunctional, narrow minded and abhorrent political systems. None of their kinds succeeded to stay even for a quarter of a century. Since they are led by a lunatic mind they are doomed for destruction. Think of Lenin, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Amin, Papa Doc, Saddam, Mengistu, and so forth. They really don’t learn from history!!!!
