Kinijit North America has informed Ethiopian Review that five Kinijit supporters in Butajira, southern Ethiopia, have been arrested. Gizachew Lemma, Shemsu Yassin, Seid Kiyar, Yirgalem Nigatu and Tarekegn Abebe were arrested by by Woyanne gunmen this morning after being accused of holding an illegal public gathering with Kinijit leaders last week.
Later in the afternoon, three of them (Gizachew Lemma, Shemsu Yassin and Tarekegn Abebe) were released after they had been interrogated about the current Kinijit’s delegation visit in the area. Seid Kiyar and Yirgalem Nigatu are still under arrest.

Weyane has no any sincerity to have competant peaceful opposistion party in the country. It is exhoring the peaple from peaceful opposition to violence.
What do you expect from dedebit badits? THe uncivilizevbdmorons will do anything to continue looting
The reason for this arrest is, there photograph was published online. The best way to avoid this event would have been to block the face. You should know the concequences before publishing their photos. We knnow that Kinijit is a renound party, but woyane will arrest any one let alone who participated the meeting.
Despite all the NAZI TPLF attempt, Kinijit will revive and the rule of law will privilae in Ethiopia
Dawn with Woyane Nazi Regime
I disagree with muli. In the small town of Butagira it is not hard to know Kinijit meeting participants for the officials. On top of that, the meeting was not underground-it was public. For sure weyane cadres might have participated
Nazi Weyane
We demand the unconditional release of the rest of our local representatives NOW.
I personally know the prisoners. Two of them have run for kinijit parliamentary seat and elected by the land sliding vote in May, 2005 election.
Gizachew Lamma was one of them.
Most of them are school teaches in our town Butajira, including the most popular figure, Gizachew Lamma.
This shows the modest and the most diversified group of kinijit, which is currently lead by Judge Birtukan mideksa is still highly trusted and respected in Southern Ethiopia.
Long Live United Ethiopia
