Ato Hailu Shawel’s enderassie in Addis Ababa had called a meeting of the Kinijit supreme council today, but it could not be held because only about six of Ato Abayneh Berhanu’s friends showed up. The empty chairs saga continues… Read more by zikkir News Service.

why didn’t you take the picture in a way that would show the whole room?
Elias , count all chairs properly. eyassu’s ashikere gudu taye got crazy about not properly counting of emepty chaira. well done . hailu is being kicked out of ethiopia’s politics. shame shame on this arrogant and rigid denakurete man
Now that Woyane has handed the name “Kinijit” to Ayele Chamiso, what is the alternative the founding fathers should pursue? Should they go back to their old parties (Kestedamena, AEUP, EDL, and EDP-Medhin or form a new party? Do they have the legal right to pursue the name “Kinijit” through the courts? Is Ayele Chamiso working with either sides (Hailu Shawel or Birtukan Mideksa)? Should all of them come under the umbrella of the new “Kinijit” under the leadership of Ayele Chamiso? Would doing so cause Kinijit a political sucide?
So many whats, hows, and ifs going on that I am clueless. Anybody has any ideas?
Elias , still cant read Zikir

Puzzled,
the simplest answer for your question is that, kinijit is the party in whose name our beloved Leaders such as Bertukan, Berhanu, Eyoel, Eng Shiferaw, and so many others were incarcerated. Mention any law, the name kinijit never belongs to the unpopular-and-illegal Chamisso! It is nobody’s other than the popular Bertukan’s leadership!
Hailu Shawel and co. has fallen deep from grace. There is no means for their come back. All the move that they are trying to make to revive themselve is useless. They should have learned from the number of Ethiopians that showed up at the meetings they held in Minnesota and Seattle. This group does not learn at all. It is planning to hold a meeting at Atlanta, Georgia, this weekend. I believe that will be the end of its end. Atlanta is ready for them.
Sakitaw,
Thank you for your response. I complletely agree with what you have said. Kinijit belongs to the people and it is deep in the hearts and minds of the people. The Ethiopian people are well aware of who the legitimate leaders are that made Kinijit – Kinijit. Yes, they may take the name Kinijit but they will never take the substance that makes Kinijit unlike any other political party in Ethiopian history.
I don’t know what solution I could bring to the current crisis if I were in the position of the Kinijit leaders. But I am sure these leaders have the wisdom, know how, and resilient courage to resolve the current situation and bring about a fundamental change in Ethiopian politics. May God be with the True Leaders and the Great Ethiopian People!
For me the name doesnt matter
What matters most is the principle and the people in it
Change the name; register it and move with the struggle
Woyane will get more time when we fight for the name
I see it as simple as that…
No need to consume our energy and time on a fight that doesnt deserve to be fought for…
There is a big fight infront of us
Peaceful struggle to change the way things are going in Ethiopia
Go get new Name please
The important thing is the idea and the people inside ..
God bless you All
Elias,
The picture of Wt. Birtukan and Eng. Gizachew in Wolita (let us forget the other pictures taken in the different states here in the states) and the empty chair pictures of Eng. Hailu or Ato Abayneh tell a lot. They should be put side by side for a glaring comparison.
King hailu and his gangs are dancing with an empty chairs in the big hall. Eyassu’s trajion horse gudu taye had killed ETA and he has been trying tokill CUDP , but saddly enough he has lost his target . Now he is dancing with his long waited girl friend ,but he is not lucky enough to have more quests in the wedding
The Hailu gangs are no longer count. Hailu is dead as far as the people of Ethiopia are concerned. Now those in the
diaspora should continue to support those who are back in the country and working to see to it those who were killed was not in vain! the name Hailu shawell make me sick! he is a disgrace to his race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we in the diaspora should do our part. I remember when Attorney John Spencer spoke in Los Angeles; he said those who have money help the movement with your money. Those who is strong to fight get your gun and protect your country. This is the way I understood it. The movement of Kinjit is the best. The Ethiopian people are tired of fighting, we lost so many and
we will continue untile we trash Melles (as his masters called him POSTER BOY)the poster boy.
Elias thank you for all the information you provide!!!

Beautiful wooden-chairs but empty!
The empty chairs represent empty hope for Mr. Hailu Shawel and his political supporters if indeed he has any one left. He tried calling for a meeting in North America, and he tried calling for another meeting in Ethiopia. In both meetings the number of people who showed up was less than the number of the chairs arranged for the general meeting. The last chance he has now, perhaps, is to call for a meeting in a Church, in a Synagogue, in a Mosque or in his hospital bed room. Those are, I think, the only places left for him to try and see if he can schedule a third or fourth meeting.
How angry Hailu Shawel might have been when he saw those empty chairs? His anger reminds me the anger of the king who invited several people to come for the wedding of his son, but all failed to come to the wedding and the chairs were empty, and the king was enraged. Finally, he sent his servants to invite other people they could find in the street. Indeed, “the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests” Matthew 22:1-10. I am sure, Hailu Shawel might have called several good and bad people to come to attend his meeting, but no one showed up except some family members, yet under such circumstances, at whom would he be angry? Perhaps, he might have been angry at Kinijit’s people who rejected his domineering behavior and distanced themselves from everything that is Hailu Shawl’s. Kinijit gone its own democratic way, conducting people’s businesses, reaching out thousands of people, and stretching its hands to millions, he cannot ally himself with any political organization. He may try to be amicable with Woyanne regime, but that will be a political suicidal for him and a breach of promises he has made previously with the Ethiopian people before he fell from his grace.
I really do not comprehend why does he still assume he has a political power over Kinijit? When is the Supreme Council going to terminate his chairmanship and give it to another capable person? Why is Kinijit hesitating to bring him down from his high office? We know he does not have a standing army like Meles Zenawi to defend himself and his political agitators. It may be tough to bring down Meles, but it does not take that long to disassociate Hailu Shawel from Kinijit for a good reason – to hire a new blood in his place. We need a good leader, a leader who purifies Hailu Shawl’s political mess he has left behind; we should not overburden the Vice President, Ms Burtukan; if we do, she will be burned out easily. I think, the Supreme Council is well advised if it quickly appoints a new chairperson with a clear and concrete political vision. The more time the Supreme Council spends in finding a new leader, the stronger Hailu Shawel becomes, and the quicker Kinijit finds a new leader, the weaker Hailu Shawl’s political party turns out to be. By the way, is Mr. Hailu Shawel the only qualified person who can lead Kinijit into a success or disaster? I’m sure we have more qualified and humble Ethiopians here in America, Europe and Ethiopia; why don’t we then pick up one and have him/her lead us to a final victory against our adversary – the Woyanne regime?
