The picture tells it all. Hailu Shawel held a “public meeting” Sunday in Seattle where he bored the audience (40-50 EPRP members) to death with his “lecture” on economy. He said Ethiopia is poor because the government is bad. How come we all didn’t know that?!

  2. Now he is a living witness for his political death as precipitated by his ShaleQas and Dofter Taye’s gang group. No way for this arrogant, rigid feudal to come to the Ethiopian mass love once again. His incosistancy and in-logical arguments clearly show his inability to live upto the expectations of modern politics and civility. Ato Hailu would no longer be a member of the freedom patriots in the modern Ethiopian politics. ‘Prossuffer’ Getachewu Haile addressed him as ‘kibrinetwo’. If we waited him for sometime, he would have called him ‘ girmawinetwo’. Thus, would Hailu be an actor in the postmodern complex political dynamics? How come!? Let him go back to the ‘edir’ system and administration or to a one-person business office, as he is accustomed to. A public meeting with thousands of attendants would no longer be real for this feudal lord! We are in the 21th century. Uninformed and lessflexible politician can nevr lead informed and competent citizens.

    Good bye Ato Haile! The train is so fast and could not stop before the station and your evil dids would not disrupt our fast but demanding journey to DEMOCRACY. Have a break with the reactionary gangs led by shaleQas and Gudu Taye.

    Lets encourage those in the challenging confrontation for democracy in Ethiopia under the principles of KINIJIT!

    Dialogue with arrogants is valueless and lets outrage these ganges and lairs under the umbrella of Feudal lord Hailu!!

  3. Hailu is better off having a comedy show. Life would have been boring without Hailu’s comedy Jam. Next in Atlanta, he may end up saying he never was married to his wife of 50 years.

  6. Dofter Taye said at the previous meeting that we can’t even count the table properly. Let us count the empty chair as they are more in numbers than the participant of the meeting. This time please let us not make a mistake and annoy Dr. Taye. Dr. Taye there are 100s empty chair and 35 (25) occupied. In total there are 135 chair were at the meeting.

That people have totally and completely given up on him and that we all are doing our level best to forget him like a bad dream. I applaud Seattleites for saying NO to feudalism and backwardness.

    What is the deal with ‘Bekibur Injiner Hailu Shaul Merinet Yemikahedew YeDimokratik Tiglachen YikeTilal’ slogan? I could have sworn I have seen it in the Minnesota pictures. Is that slogan part of Hailu Shaul’s entourage now, along with Negist Honda, Bedru Adem and ChiQaShum Taye? Is that his talisman or is he trying to imitate Menelik (Menelik and Tayetu took Ye Girogis Tabot to Adwa)?

    I hope Seattle will be the last station of his humiliation and from now on he will stop dabbling in politics and start rebuilding his consulting business. The onset of defeat after defeat and humiliation after humiliation is unnerving his friends and foes alike, after all this is a man that used to be the chairman of Kinjit. Taye and the EPRP deadheads will pay for this, one way or another.

This morning, Monday January 14, 2008, I happened to pass by two Ethiopian youth having a heated conversation in English on their way to Starbucks Coffee Shop on 9th and H Street NW, Washington DC. In the middle of their conversation, one said to the other, ” Don’t Hailu Shawel me.” That is when I know they are both Ethiopians and out of curiosity, I asked the guy what he meant. He said, “Sir, my friend is a habitual lier like the old dude in Minnesota and it has become a slang.”
    And I said, it is one hell of an Elias (creative that is, in my own slang).

  12. While hailu and co. are calling them ‘Duriyyes and sellouts’ in Minneapolis and Seattle,Birtukan and Gizachew are again paying the price for freedom and democracy. They were arrested because the Woyaine feared the immense popularity they received when they showed up in the Guragie and Hadya zone.
    I am sure Hailu is now happy.
    I promise you We will make every effort to secure their immediate release.

It seems that Hailu Shawel never accepts his defeat or his political demise.A one time national hero has turned to be a disgrace to Ethiopia.His political naivity percipitated the end of his political carrier.Those who know him very well ,knew that such things would come one day because Hailu wanted to lead politics by his money.
    Now his sychopant and illitrate deputy Abayneh Birhanu,gives interviews to the Reporter,the medium Abayneh him self were known to hateand criticize it most.It seems that the Abayeneh group scumb to the Woyanes.Abayeneh and Getachew servive by the remittance they get from Hailu.Abayneh a one time bussiness man turned to be an alms reciever from Hailu.
    I don’t support any one from the Birtukan group who try to reconcile with Hailu.He produces nothing but concipiracy and laziness.I can assure that Hailu will never ever see the gate of the palace because he is good for nothing.Don’t waste your time in disscussing about him .

    Please stop humiliating yourself and stop what you doing now in the name of Kinijit. I honestly believe that the Ethiopian people fully understood that you and your gangs are not in anyway useful to the democratic struggle that is on going in Ethiopia.

    I had a conversation with so many Ethiopians back home and they all cursing you for what you doing and for pulling the kinijit struggle behind. No one will forgive you specially the Ethiopian people who gave their life for Kinijit.

    I personally advice you to stop talking in the name of Kinijit. I think you better start promoting your hidden agenda that you were going to organise yourself as AEUP bringing the dead alive. May be try that if it works for you. Kinijit is not for dictators …the owners are Ethiopian people.

    P.S. We listened to your previous meetings and were laughing as a comedy. We are looking forward for more fun and laugh in your next meeting (shame)

  15. Elias i would like to thank you for identifying the main obstacles of the anti woyane Struggle , EPRP and its leader EYASU ALEMAYEHU are the once who have been playing a destructive role in dividing the oppossiton camp.
    I am living in seatle and i know who attended the meetings, most of them are EPRP members and their familes, they even take their kids to fill the chairs.

    Mr. Hailu Shawel is just fighting for his physical and political survival. Physically and politically he has been sick for a long time. Time is running out for him if he tries to come back as a victor after he has lost the confidence of many of his admirers at home and abroad if he has had any at all. Were I him, I would repent my previous and present shortcomings officially and get rid of all my consciences from guilt that accuse and bother me every single moment. Freedom from psychological guilt is more important than freedom from physical pain. Without any one or him telling us what his views about the success and failure of Kinijit have been from the beginning until now, we have vividly identified them, so we will never fall back into them.

    His views way back till now have been imperialistic views: the kingdom is mine, and I can do whatever I want with my kingdom. When I desist, I will give it to one of my children. How wrong he has been! All the people who belong to, and believe in, Kinijit have the ultimate authority to expand it or to shrink it, to allow it to survive or to totally kill it. God Forbid, we are not going to destroy Kinijit, because we do not have the spirit of Hailu Shawel that rejoices whenever some members of Kinijit are arrested without any reason – a spirit of lie and deception, a spirit of division, conflict, and confusion; however, we have the spirit of working together for a common goal – to democratize the entire regions of Ethiopia. With this kind of spirit, a spirit of love and respect for one another, we can even move a mountain, dismantle the sophistries of the Woyanne political thinking, and build our own political systems that include the participations of every Ethiopian person. This is the political dynamism Kinijit has had for a long time. Meles may now and then play shenanigan with Kinijit by arresting some of its members and releasing them without telling us why he in the first place arrested them and then released them. Woyanne thinks that Kinijit without Hailu Shawel is an illegitimate political organization. At this time in point, Meles must recognize that Kinijit is an internationally acknowledged political organization ever created in the history of Ethiopia. With or without Hailu Shawel, Kinijit is going to stay here until all Ethiopians have a say about the destiny of their country.
