Kinijit council takes measures to move the party forward

The supreme council of the Coalition for Unity and Democracy Party (Kinijit) was convened today and made several decisions on how to move the party forward.

The major decisions the council made today include:

1) Giving the executive committee full authority to decide on all current outstanding issues, including the unresolved conflict with the party’s estranged chairman, Ato Hailu Shawel.

2) Authorizing the executive committee to replace those council members who have resigned or failed to respond to the council’s meeting.

3) Stern warning to Ato Abayneh Berhanu and other members of the council who have started operating under their former party’s (AEUP) banner.

Kinijit vice chairperson Bertukan Mideksa will give a press conference tomorrow at 1:00 PM EST to give detailed explanations and answer questions about the council’s decisions.

The press conference, which will be facilitated by Kinijit North America Public Relation’s Committee, will be carried live by Ethiopian Review Radio Network. Click here to listen.

  1. This is the way forward for CUD.Thousands didn’t die for the power of a power monger. We fought to replace the woayne fascism with democracy not for a feudal monarcy lead by Hailu Shawel and Company. We will keep fighting till woyane is destroyed once for always.

  2. Bravo our Iron Lady Birtukan! You are clean-hearted icon of peace, unity, democracy and prosperity for all Ethiopians living in harmony cherishing their rich mosaic culture. Millions adore and admire your charismatic leadership qualities as well as your proven sense of justice.

  3. We are seeing our wise leaders in action not retaliation. They are leading by example following the rule not being emotional but calm under pressure by woyane and Hailu’s followers.

  4. Move on:
No need to fight with those uneducated if not illeducated guys. You know dictatorial addictions die hard. It is impossible to work with these ill minded guys for long. The real Kinjit leaders must have the move on strategy. No need to get stack with stacked personnels. Let them stay there!!

  5. Elias,
you and EMF deserve a Medal Honor for a great job you have done. KINIJIT North America and their support groups are nothing but punching bags, at the mercy of Hailu Shawel and the rest of the thugs. They don’t even react when their noses get blooded. KINIJIT is strong here just because of your real time information and unflinching commimnet to the cause.

The Hell with so called Support Groups!!!!!!!!

  6. Bertukan!Bertukan! Bertukan!

  8. Elias,

What I like to recommend to the Diaspora is to get busy organizing and do the hard work to bring about the best results. Leave the decision matters to Burtukan and other Kinijit members. It is their job to decide on His Imperial Majesty Haily Showel. They will do it, when the time is right based on their understanding.

But our job here in the Diaspora is to go back to work. Start to reorganize the Diaspora in new chapters and recruit as many members as we can in every state. Dedicated members are the foundation of our political movement. They will be our resources for finance, conducting demonstrations, for lobbying etc that is needed to make a difference in the political landscape in Ethiopia.

As you all know, political actions has stopped since Hailu Showel has decided to betray our movement. This bad shepered has been found to be a wolf-in-a-ship skin among us. Let us not panick. Let us give the job of deciding the fate of Hailu Showel to our leaders and immediately go back to work to fight the Weyanes. The Weyanes are getting a lot of break right now. Let us start the demonstrations, fundraising, the lobbying, the organizing etc as soon as possible. With out this foundation, the movement won’t be solid and it will be spontaneous and short-lived.
