It is always a good idea to vote for the best man of the year( only one). But in this case I think we should rather vote whom to include in the best men&women group of the year.They all equally dedicated and contributed their time and talent. I definitely agree with your list but add more to the list like other CUD members,prisoners ,journalists (Serkalem and Iskinder)family members of the then prisoners etc.. it is also important to categorize them by the areas (political economical,cultural ,sports etc…
Hope to get to know more men and women in and out of the country.
Isias Afeweri of Eritrea is the person who always think and does for the best for the Ethiopian people. He is always angry when he sees abuses and oppression done on the innocent Ethiopian people by the TPLF. His best wishes is that he wanted to see that the Ethiopian people live in peace and tranquility with its brotherly people of Eritrea and also wanted to see that the Ethiopian have their own government favorable to the Ethiopian people.

The choices he takes in politics or [STUDY AND REPORT ON] the armed stuggle is his own, but does stand out as a person of courage, integrity and honesty. In the end, I believe that he will be justified in some ways.

He is a unifying figure and he made us aware of what is going on in Gambella. I truly think that he brought us together regardeless of the other issues that come and go.
Ethiopia is a home for all of us. All the citizins from North to South East to West should be treated equally!
Obang Metho has done extraordinary effort and has been consistant with his advocay.
I go with Obang, eventhough Dr. Almariam and Dr. Brehanu have also done trimendous contribution after the the 2005 election.
I dont think Haile Gebresilasse should be in this ligue. He is exceptional and should be recognized as atlet of the year, may be the era. Specially for the Berlin Marathon. Just my openion.
Wzt/ Birtukan Medeksa should also be recognized as woman of the year. May be she should also be in a different ligue…for example ( Meseret Defar, jornalist Netsanet Demisse, Liya kebede, Mehret Mandefro… could be the nominees)
