ISIOLO, Kenya, Nov 30 (Reuters) – Kenyan police said on Friday they had arrested 12 suspected Ethiopian rebels and nine locals accused of helping them in a remote region on the border with Ethiopia.
Two of the suspected members of the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) rounded up this week have already been deported while the others are still being interrogated, said Rono Bunei, district police commander in the Kenyan border town of Moyale.
“The operation is still going on and we shall not allow any group to use our soil to fight a friendly government,” he said. The rest will be deported if confirmed as OLF members.
One of several insurgent groups fighting Ethiopian Prime Minister dictator Meles Zenawi’s government, the OLF seeks greater autonomy for ethnically Oromo areas of south Ethiopia.
The nine Kenyans were arrested for offering shelter to the 12, police said.
Some locals said innocent youths had been arrested.
“Most of the people arrested are Kenyans,” local resident Barrack Mohammed told Reuters.
“We have lived with them and they can’t do anything like that. The police are just picking on them.”

Is this what the keynan gov’t pay back to ethiopians for helping them during the british colonial time????Remember Haile Selassie provided territory and material aide like weapons to the Mau Mau movement?????Now they dare to hand over ethiopians for execution????????waawoo. It is disturbig and I am mad at kenyan gov’t!!!!!
I am mad as hell too!! Just a couple of weeks ago, the Kenyan authority allowed the ten innocent university students to be butchered on a daylight by Woyane assassins, and now to make matters worst they are aiding & betting along side with totalitarian regime openly. Where is the respectability for basic human right concerns? Well, I used to think Kenya is a moderate nation in respect to the rule of law, mainly in comparison to other East African nations, but that is not the case any more in post WOYANE era, and in fact this past weeks encounters entail us that it has even deteriorated to this discouraging & disturbing level for this once model nation. This is very sad state of affairs….
kenya is one of the most corrupted country on earth. where the governmental system is corrupted , there is no security. Any ways, the time will come soon and kenya will pay it back for the wrong doing in it’s territory. untill that time let kenya hunt ethiopians like wilde animals. shame of those shameless corrupted kenya’s governmental officials. we, ethiopians should stnad as one to free and defend our selves. otherewise weyane is continue killing us one by one separately to preseve it’s political power.GOD BLESS ETHIOPIA AND ETHIOPIANS. AMEN
I feel sad for those whoare being rounded and for the ones who havebeen already harmed by TPLF regime. The TPLDF regime knows its shortcomings as well as her strengthes.Just to mention some of her shortcomings an inflexible anti Ethiopian stance, and the closed politcal space and the total domintaion of the nationl politvcs.Among her strengtes is tight otrganizationl secret, bribery of neighboring countries. For all this the greatest blame goes to the Ethiopian oppostion in particuar those of OLF and ONLF leadership. The leaders of thedse organizations are out of touch with the reality on the ground. To them what maters the most appears to sling politcal satire, against what they call Neftegians, and psudo or fake Abssinya.Where is the substance that followers of OLF want to bring to the table other than worn out tirade.
On the other hand the ordinary Ethiopian s from the crosses section of our socity are doing ther best to live in harmoney in the midest of the vissistitude every day life.If the case is not their being far removed Wfrom the objective reality on the ground what can explain for lack of unified and vibrant oppostion at the moment.Every day obvbservation shows us that Ethiopians are veryeasy to work with foreigners say U.S or Brithish nations. But when it comes Ethiopians intellectualls working together there is simply a deep sited problem in this area.
As far as I am conserned the fudal era has ended in 1974 and all this name calling is just red hirring. We need to learn to Forgive and forget if we want to move together to the future. In this global age, whether ewe like it or not,we have limited choices.Either get along and solve the exsisting national problem and move for ward to reach our destiny the most logical choice.Or refuse to actively participate and let events lescalate to mutual destruction.Personally I see no third option.Such as the one OLF invisoning the posiblity of mini states.May God open our eyes to see our need of genuin unity.
