Meles Zenawi’s chest-beating

Should Eritrea launch another war, we will make certain that Asmara would never, ever dream of even entertaining or thinking about war again. Meles Zenawi.

Ethiopia Woyanne plays down war talk ahead of border deadline

ADDIS ABABA, Nov 27 (Reuters) – Three days before a deadline for demarcating their disputed border, Ethiopia Woyanne said on Tuesday it had no plans for another bout of fighting with arch-foe Eritrea but would crush any attempt by Asmara to invade.

Tensions between the Horn of African neighbours have ratcheted up in recent weeks with the approach of the Nov. 30 deadline set by an independent border commission to physically mark their disputed frontier.

Ethiopia Woyanne has no reason to launch another war against Eritrea. Our intention has always been to resolve all outstanding border problems with Eritrea through peaceful means,” Prime Minister dictator Meles Zenawi told parliament.

“Should Eritrea launch another war, we will make certain that Asmara would never, ever dream of even entertaining or thinking about war again,” he said.

Asmara and Addis Ababa Woyanne have been locked in a dispute over their shared frontier since a 2002 ruling by an independent border commission gave Eritrea the key town of Badme.

The commission was set up by a peace deal ending a 1998-2000 border war killing some 70,000 people.

Ethiopia Woyanne initially rejected the ruling, but now says it accepts it but wants more talks with Eritrea. Asmara rejects calls for dialogue, saying it wants full implementation.

Last November, the commission said it was fed up by the lack of progress with the border and gave both nations one year to make moves to mark the frontier or it would fix it on maps.

Analysts have warned of possible renewed hostilities between the two nations as the deadline approaches.

But both sides say they have no desire to go to war.

The United Nations says Eritrea and Ethiopia Woyanne have moved thousands of troops and heavy weapons to the 1,000-km (620-mile) frontier since the border commission gave its deadline.

The world body and the United States have urged both nations to show restraint.

Analysts say the border deadlock has been complicated by a war in Somalia where Eritrea is accused of backing Somali insurgents battling Ethiopian Woyanne and Somali government troops.

In the last month, Asmara has repeatedly accused Addis Ababa Woyanne of planning to invade.

On Tuesday, Meles said Eritrea was using rebels in Somalia to distract Ethiopia for an invasion from the north.

“Eritrea’s intention was that when rebels and terrorists it supports penetrate into Ethiopian territory from Somalia and create confusion, it was planning to invade the country from the north,” Meles said. “But we have crushed the rebel groups who were fighting a proxy war for Eritrea and as such its plan to invade us fizzled out.”

  1. These days, Woyanne crime family is bragging and making too much noise in every direction saying it will crush Isayas’s shabya army so that it won’t contempelate another war in the future.

But, Ethiopians made clear to Woyanne crime family that no single genuine Ethiopian will extend the life of Woyanne crime family by engaging in the upcoming battle between Shabya and Woyanne. Period.

  2. “Should Eritrea launch another war, we will make certain that Asmara would never, ever dream of even entertaining or thinking about war again,” he said.

This is a typical behaviour of a bitter person. He has warned Eritrea a million times now. Why is the same hallow rhetoric repeated again and again? Does Meles want to look he has all what it takes to finish Shabia off? This is just empty noise!

    Again he says:

“Eritrea’s intention was that when rebels and terrorists it supports penetrate into Ethiopian territory from Somalia and create confusion, it was planning to invade the country from the north,” Meles said. “But we have crushed the rebel groups who were fighting a proxy war for Eritrea and as such its plan to invade us fizzled out.”

At one point he says he will make certain that Asmara would never, ever dream of even entertaining or thinking about war again, and now he admits he was relieved that he has “crushed” what he calls terrorists and rebels to deny Eritrea from annihilating Weyane? If he thinks Eritrea is capable of invading Ethiopia then he can’t be certain that Weyane will come out of war intact and finish Shabia off.

Again EMPTY Vessel makes loud noise.

  3. This Dictator is scared he doesn’t know what he is talking any more. Eritrea does not go to war at Meles’ invitation.
For Eritrea to do so,to go to war, It has its own way of determining. “Meles…lemayankish tategnew.” Last time you left 153,000 dead soldiers of your not even to mention their name again and you are still thirsty.

Eritrea has no need to go to war. After few days the boarder will be virtually demarcated and count as final. Therefore, no more excuses, Meles you will be found squarely on Eritrea’s back yard for the world to see.
Eritrea needs to sharpen its pencil and DEMAND THAT UN TAKES PUNITIVE MEASURES ON MELES FOR ILLEGALLY INVADING ANOTHER MEMBER STATE’S TERRITORY. Effective Dec 1 there is no talk of Algier aggrement, dispute, peace process….etc.
Case closed .Eritrea won in battle and wins legally too. No more war.

  4. Why this mercinary half Eritrean(Melese) is barking day in and day out about what he is going to do in case the war starts? Whatever he is thinking Ethiopians will not fight his dirty war just to keep him in power. After all his mother voted for Eritrean independence in 1993 and buried on Ethiopian soli with all her treason because her son is in power.Ato.Melese and his follwers,Mengedun Cherk Yargilachihu!

  5. Criminals and losers that the Weyane gangsters are, it reminds me back when, when we were little kids slinging mud with our playmates. Just because we were kids, I guess, someone of us will end up beating on somebody else. The “Victim” would more than likely keep on insulting the perpetrator even though he clearly lost the competition but keeps on throwing insults while crying with snot allover his face. Obviously, the wise thing to do would have been to quietly surrender the bout after sizing up the competition. But, no, some kids would rather get beaten up and keep on crying afterwards than to take the wiser decision. OK. So this is not a kid’s play. But, when you think about it, Meles and kubanya are doing the same thing, may be they still think the US is going to come to save them. Now, if I was Meles, and thank God I am not, I would have “taught Shabya the lesson she will never forget” long time ago. I believe I heard that expression back in 1990. If he could have done that, then the case would have been closed for there would not be a “Shabya” any more. But, obviously things may not be that easy for Mr. Legesse Abebe. It certainly is not as easy as changing his own name whatever merit that may have. When are these idiots going to learn from history?

  6. No seriously responsible leader would utter statements and he knows more than anyone else that no one would believe his lies any longer. Meles is just showing restlessness and desperation as he is swormed by self-inflicted problems such as going to unnessary war with Eritrea and in the process sacrificing precious Ethiopian lives, stupidly invading hapless Somalia and alienting his own Ethiopian people thus creating opposition and liberation fronts capable enough to cut short of his grip on power. His short sightedness and lack of diplomatic skills earned him political and diplomtic isolation and pressure. Gone are the days of sitting next to the likes of Britain’s Tony Blair and the talk of Africa’s new generation. Meles never attempted to transform himself from guerilla leader to a statesman running a country of over 70 million and he never changed his ways of doing things. Pretension and shameful lies, as opposed to being genuine political heavyweight, does not make one a true leader at world stage. All is left for him now is to act as a lone firefighter desperately trying to put out surrounding fires and long sleepless nights until his eventual downfall.

  7. Meles is just a roaring mouse. He’s being taken to cleaners by the ONLF and the freedom fighters in Mogdishu and he’s threatening Eritrea? I think he is afraid and that’s why we hear all these bluster and chest-beating from him. As Clint Eastwood said, “if you want to shoot, shoot. Don’t talk.”

  8. It is now lucid that Meles Zinawi is totally terrified to his frigile bone. By the way, have you ever heard what he was lecturing to the DUMMY PMs in his Kangaroo parlament?

He was completely talking rubish and mixing up and repeating words, sences and phrases trying to instill fear and terror into all those useless MPs’ worried-minds who have nothing to say, just simply sitting and absorbing useless rehric.

What is most surprising as well as shocking is how could those indivudals who are supposed to be highly educated tolerate such rubbish things that were coming out of his filthy mouth?

This murderer, woyanne boss is gradually slipping into his death trap either knowingly or unknowingly; basically, except with the few PMaggents, most of them seemed to be told to act like a child whose job is to eat what he or she is provided. No cry, no refusal.

It was why he refused the presence of real oppositions in the parlament because he knows that he will be challanged in every possible directions.

This battle he was referring to is. of course, will start soon. He is scared too much that the soldiers that he put on a cobat alert might either refuse to fight or might abandone him in the middle of the battle.

Anyways, he and his crime family are on their owns; when the time comes, they too shall meet their fate.

Wheather Meles Zianwi likes it or not, Isayas Afework had clearly told right in Meles’s ugly face that he has 4,000.000 battle ready combatants at any given time.

when the battle starts, Meles Zinawi and his crime subordinates shall not click wine-filled glasses, rather, they will start wetting their pants. No single trusted and genuine Ethiopians shall be engaging in this upcomking battle to defend or to protect these crime families who killed a lot of Ethiopians and who looted a vast amount resources to teir benifits.

That bitter and crushing fateful day is approaching with its burning and crushing feast to completely eliminate bandits and robbers form the face of Ethiopia.

Meles Zinawi and his crime families are naturally born cowards whose fate is nothing but to receive the most bitter punishiment that ever been given to any mafia groups or murderers.

Yes, it is true that Isayas Afework is worried too; because when he told Meles Zinawi that he has millions of combatants, he must also tell the world community that he has enough food to feed his army. Once the battle is started, no silly excuse will be accepted. As he said time after time, he is engaging this the most awaited battle for the sake of preserving the pride of his followers.

Meles Zinawi talked a lot about his army is determined to capture Isyas Afework and humilate him infront of his millions soldiers; well, if this is what Meles Zinawi thinks he capture the hearts and minds of Ethiopians, he must be wrong and must be crazy on his mind. He should be knowing by now that he and his crime families are the most wanted criminals in Ethiopia. In short, Meles Zinawi and Isyas Afework, will definitely b captured sooner or later.

  9. Warning: The cost of war and its fatigue

The cost of the War of 1998 and its devastating effects on properties and human lives still fresh in their memories, the hatred that war had created between the two countries fully alive and volatile in their veins, the people of Ethiopia and Eritrea should ignore the political war drum the two dictators, Meles Zenawi and Isaiahs Afework, are beating on.

The poorest among the poorest nations in Africa, Ethiopia and Eritrea should not afford to go to war at this time where most of the world is in great economic crisis. First, Ethiopia and Eritrea must meet the pressing economic, social, and spiritual needs of their people and avoid poverty, provide healthcare to their citizens, build new roads, repair the old ones, open more schools and hospitals, and treat their people equally. If, however, the two countries, ignoring the immediate needs of their people, decided to go to war against each other on a piece of land, no doubt that the international community will condemn and isolate them from participating in any global economy. Any war between Ethiopia and Eritrea will in fact prolong the tyrannical reigns of Meles and Isaiahs, and this in return will have a negative effect on Kinijit and other political parties in Ethiopia and Eritrea. On the other hand, if Meles and Isaiah press their people to go to war, the army of both countries should refuse to take orders, no matter how urgent these orders are, from their two selfish superiors, Meles and Isaiahs. Fortunately, if one of them wins the war, they both will be the losers, after considering the death toll between the two sister countries.

  10. For the sake of millions in the region I recommend a Duel: a fight with deadly weapons between the two dictators, Meles Zenawi and Isaiahs Afework and settle the matter.

Also can we get the highest paying promoter to broadcast the duel live around the world and use the money to feed the hungry and promote development?
