Woyanne regime’s regional (killil) presidents have submitted a petition to dictator Meles Zenawi to charge Kinijit Vice President Bertukan Mideksa and her delegation with treason for speaking out in support of H.R. 2003.
According to the ER Research Unit, the petition, which is being orchestrated by Woyanne top officials, was initiated after Meles held a video conference with the regional presidents (his puppets) last Friday and discussed the impact H.R. 2003 will have on his regime.
Most Woyanne high level officials are terribly scared of the bill that is pending in the U.S. Congress since it would hold Woyanne regime officials personally accountable for the torture and killing of civilians.
The killil presidents submitted their petition against the Kinijit leaders to the federal government yesterday. Other local government officials are also asked by the Woyanne junta to submit a similar petition.
A newly formed Woyanne-affiliated organization named Ethiopian American Forum has also launched a campaign of intimidation against Kinijit delegates whom it accused of committing treason. Chairman of this group wrote in a recent letter to Senator Inhofe:
Dr. Alemayhu, Dr. Berhanu and Bertukan might have violated article 259 of the Ethiopian Penal Code of 1957 (as amended). Pursuant to Article 259, whoever commits an act intended to “…(a) jeopardize or destroy the independence of [Ethiopia]; or (b) provoke intervention in or interference with [Ethiopia’s] affairs, calculated to endanger its independence; or (c) initiate hostile acts from outside the state directed against [Ethiopia] or to involve it in a foreign war, hostilities, a blockade or occupation, is punishable with rigorous imprisonment from five years to life, or, in case of exceptional gravity, with death.” Therefore, if HR 2003 becomes law, CUD members may be the first victims… of HR 2003.

Desperate Woyanne officials are enlisting the help of former U.S. ambassadors and other government officials. ER has learned that Woyanne billionaire Al Amoudi is behind the solicitation of support from former U.S. officials.

LIBERTY IS NOT CHEAP. We all need to pay something to have it, to enjoy it. What the woyannes don’t understand is by activating the petition and threatening CUD leaders, for their struggle for freedom and democracy, they are making HR2003 a reality faster than we expect. We all need to show integrity for their inhuman actions that the woyannes are perpeterating against our leaders and the people. By being a complete stupid undemocratic bull, woyannes are rolling themselves down to hell! These stupid tigray gangs WILL NEVER WIN against the smart people of ETHIOPIA.
thanks elias,
they did not discussabout hr 2003 in the congress that day. they gave testimoney on the atrocity that is going on around ogaden. so, why is woyane hold them accountable for that. the bill was passed to the higher level long time before the came to USA. to me they have not done anything wrong.
woyane is just getting frustrated.
Well, this is the evidence for the significance of HR 2003. Now, the Meles regime has mobilized a comprehensive local and global strategy – security, political, diplomatic, financial – to defeat the Bill not because the bill will result in regime change, but it will aloow the opposition to organize and challenge Meles politically. The new ethnocratic ruling class is bent in maintaining its ethnic based economic and political power by any means necessary.
The so-called constitution -they can violate it at will when it serves their purpose or make a capital crime when the opposition asserts those rights secured by the document.
Now, Ethiopian lawyers must use it to show the US Senate how Meles has been violating his own consitition. Kinijit lawyers must show to the US Senate that Meles’ constitution permits that we can tell to a third party how Meles violates the very document he is talking about. That is what HR 2003 advocates have done. In any event, every freedom loving Ethiopian must rise to fight Meles’s all out attack on the Bill which is only a front for a much deeper strategy of dividing and weakening the Kinijit spirit, movement, and party.
The newly formed Woyanne-affiliated organization i.e. Ethiopian American Forum is an extremely precarious and utterly unattainable situation to try to intimidate Kinijit leaders Dr. Berhanu and Bertukan and supporter Dr. Alemayhu. For start this group seems utterly blind, ignorant, and fascistic. Secondly it is their master Mellesse who should be tried with treason of the highest level. There are mountains of evidence that Mellesse, the TPLF thugs, and all collaborating with this criminal/mafia group to have committed crimes of treasons against Ethiopia and Ethiopians for the last thirty years. Mellesse and his thugs have:- (a) Supported and cooperated with Somalia’s Said Barre in 1977 and fought Ethiopia and Ethiopians siding with the Somale army; (b) Destroyed the territorial integrity of Ethiopia when he gave Assab and the Afars to Eritrea; (c) Divided Ethiopia and Ethiopians ethnically and created/maintained an environment of violence, hatred, and war; (d) Compromised Ethiopia’s security and economic interests by giving Issayas full control of Ethiopia’s resources in 1993; (e) Destroyed Ethiopia’s army and left the country defenseless up to 1998; (f) Started the Badme war (with his cousin Issayas) and is personally responsible for the death of 70000 Ethiopians; (g) Instigated and perpetuated state sponsored terrorism, rape, murder, torture, killing, repression, disease, and poverty in the last seventeen years; (h) personally led and coordinated the May, 2005 and there after killing, torture, and repression. Each of these are uncontestable ground for trying the culprit with treason. Mellesse is the ultimate criminal. He must be tried with treason and genocide. That is the legal fact.
No matter how woyanne crime family desperately tries to stop the democratic movement of Ethiopians by any faild meanses it could, it will definitely fail as many times as it is defeated by the people of Ethiopia.
As all woyanne crime families know it, their terrible fate is very close to their stupid mind and heart. When this fascist regime fails, it will fail forever and ever.
Elias,
Ayit welda welda, Jiratua siker site endayhon.
This is valuable information for the diaspora that helps us really understand the mighty impact HR-2003 can make on the democratic process in Ethiopia.
The Weyane crime family and their criminal gangs are making an unprecented and desperate attempt to destroy this bill including intimidation, harasment and threats to our leaders. We take their threats seriously and we don’t wait until it is too late. We should be able to sense critical moments and turning points in our struggle and exert maximum efforts using all we have and doing all we can. And this is the moment.
This is high time for the diaspora to gather momentum to push this bill through the Senate and at the same time organize demonstrations to expose Zenawi and his crime family from taking any political revenge against our leaders as if it were not enough that he murdered 200 people in daylight and imprisoned and tortured thousands including our leaders.
We have a desperate and relentless enemy who is bent fighting us up to his final hour. We should be ready for him as well. We should remove fatigue and quit from our feelings and speeches. If we have these words in our dictionary, I am sure we have, we should tear them out of our dictionary.
Zenawi and his crime family has declared an all out war against HR-2003. How about us? Are we ready to meet the challenge?
As far as I am concerned, it does not matter how successful we have been in pushing HR-2003 through in the past. Unless we get ready for the final and decisive battle to pass it into law, we did nothing.
If we don’t make an urgent response, all our labor of love we poured for the last three years into HR-2003 will be in vain. And our failure will be spectacular with a very miniscule chance of recovery.
This is high time to act and no time for analyzing, slicing and dicing. This is time to march and simply obey orders.
I call on all Ethiopians in the diaspora, in the name of those who laid their lives for freedom ,for immediate action to make that final and decisive push to pass HR-2003 into law. .
They are fighting as hard with their weak and ridiculous arguments, therefore, we Ethiopians should mobilize our massive grassroots power and bring HR2003 into law!!! This government has not shown any sign of respect for Ethiopians or foreign diplomats who showed concern for the basic human rights of our people!!
The Coalition of HR2003 should appoint a chapter in every state to educate every US Senator about this human rights bill!!
We need to have at least 10 organizers in every state to mobilize Ethiopians to talk to their senators!! This is a must!!
HR-2003 is about the Rule of Law in Ethiopia.
HR-2003 is about Democracy in Ethiopia.
HR-2003 is about Freedom of Press in Ethiopia.
HR-2003 is about Human Rights in Ethiopia.
HR-2003 is about Freedom of political prisoners in Ethiopia.
HR-2003 is about Freedom of Speech in Ethiopia.
HR-2003 is nothing to do with Wuchale Treaty.
HR-2003 is about Respect Ethiopian Constitution.
HR-2003 is good for Ethiopia and bad for dictators.
YES to HR-2003 and NO to dictators in Ethiopia.
It is clear why Woyane doesn’t like HR.. be becaue H stands for human and R stands for Rights. That is it!
If woyane tries to threaten our Heroine and hero leaders, it is a bonus for us for Intensifying and Pushing H.H. 2003 Forward for its Approval and application.
Dear Fellow Ethiopians,
This is the desperat attempt by the Woyane ruthless and small-minded officials who are trying to shot down the pupular and big-minded Kinjit leaders/supporters in particular and the innocent people of Ethiopia in general.
We are well aware that the livlihood of most of the woyane cadres is copletely dependent on thier dirty political game. Any way, it is better for them to prepare themselves for the new political reality.
Elias and all:
Is there anything the diaspora can do immediately that is not already being done? Let us brainstorm? There are 100 senators. Can we organize 100 special task forces – one for each senator?
Dear Ethiopians,
Let me quote the inspiring words of Thomas paine, an English born American freedom fighter and humanist. “These are the times that try men’s souls….tyranny, is like hell, is not easly qonqured. he that stands it now deserves the love and thanks of man and woman of the generation yet to come. The harder the struggle the more glorious the triuph”
From his recent speech and order given to his puppet regional “Chika Shums” Melese zenawi is scared to death that the passage of HR2003 by the United States senate will hold him personally accountable for the killings of those 196 Ethiopians after the 2005 election. We will fight and bring him to justice in every possible way.The so-called Ethiopian constitution is not good enough to be used even as a toilet paper let alone to be the supreme law of the land in the near future. This document(the constitution) will be changed as soon as TPLF is defeated and its members brought to justice as elements of a fascist political organisation. They might charge Kinijit leaders, but Melese and Co. will pay a heavy price for their crime on Ethiopians which is similar to genocidal campaign on non tplf Ethiopians.
They are telling us that they are democrats in general and they respect human rights. This is what they are telling the world. If so,Why are Meles and his crooks afraid of this HR -2003? Since it is all about democracy, they should rather support it than waging a campaign to block.Even the US senators should ask themselves why this guy (Meles)didn’t want it and is pushing hard for the HR 2003 not become a law?
It is like ,ASSA GORGUARI ZENDO YAWETAL, so I am sure these people are digging their own grave deeper faster.
Come on!!these presidents are doing what they have been ordered by the tricky guy–MELES.I know the regional presidents some were elementary school teachers, policemen, others just MELES supporters. They don’t know about human rights, rule of law, liberty, freedom and the likes. They are robots being manuplated by that greedy barbaric man—MELES.They do what they are told to do so- to fullfil their financial interest. The one who makes any chaos in Ethiopia is MELES and MELES period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
HR2003 is a must for Ethiopia to be free. Therefore, we should be all working hard to make sure this bill pass. Let’s call our senators over and over. BTW, If Woyane goes ahead and imprisons the kinijit leaders, we should start organizing the youth in Addis and other cities for somalia style armed insurgency. This will be an all out war against woyanes.
HR2003 is the ONLY thing that can stand between Ethiopian people and monster sneaky ‘hodam’ officials
Kinijit Leaders represent the peoples’ party, which we must defend and protect at all costs. I agree with those advocating the need to unite and organize against our number one enemy MELES who is so scared of HR2003. The situation poses a formidable challenge to all of us democrats. As they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. So time will tell where we really stand when the chips are down!
Dear Elias
Do you honestly think that you are helping the situation in Ethiopia? Let me tell u a bit of a story which I am sure you are already familiar with. During the negoatiations that led upto the dismantling of the aparthied system in south africa, there were two groups on the side of the ANC that were enegaged in the talks. one was from exile headed by Embeki and the other was from home headed by Ramaphosa. The Embeki group was somehow sidlined by the Ramaphosa group because the people thought that Emmbeki and his group were being too soft on the enemy. Come to think of it, what would they know, ofcourse you may try and understand the suffering of the people at home while in exile but it is not the same as experinecing the day to day ups and downs of life.
Coming back to the situtaion in our own country, yes many people in Ethiopia feel that the regime in power is up to no good. And yes it it is the people at home who are shouldring the pain that follows. We , in exile can only try and understand. And my problem is how does our noise at this end take note of the plight of the people at home? Wouldn’t HR harm the people on the ground. And when we say liberty comes with a cost, whose cost are we taking about?
Why do we assume that the CUD leaders, whichever side it is, can deliver. They are leaders by accident not desigen, not because they had a well thought out political and economic agenda and programme. They are mere expressions of the sheer frustration of the ethiopian people with the current regime…
In the end my point is lets be careful of the ramifications of our actions here ‘in exile’ on the life of people at home. At the moment it ain’t pretty at all.
i read about the collection of petitions in order to put CUDP leaders and it is not the first and the last drama which were/are orchestrated by the tyrrant Woyane or EPRDF. The mere reason is that they blow the whisle to their puppet regional government which they hatch them through the cadres who also work as a hidden hand to all regions and now it is to perform the drama. The main focus of the drama is either to frustrate the CUDP leaders so that they will not be back to Ethiopia to enhance the struggle or to finish the operation of aborting the party as a whole. One can see that the woyane regime has already dissected the CUDP one run by Ato Ayele Chammisso and the other run by Ato Temesgen Zewde and what now trying is to finish thier intrigue through what they say constitutional violate of the land because they are asked to respect Human Rights on the and.
Moreover these tugs are working their home work in order to frustrate the 77 million people not to vote against them in the comming local elections.
Dear Elias
I read the idea of Seble about her impact of HR2003 on the people Ethiopia, it is a fear from what she has not to be afraid of. What she could give har blessing to harden the iron grip of the tyrrant put on the people.
Does respecting Human Rights bring colonazation? or the vice versa and what is the difference between what they say then and now?
Meles working as a hour indicator (alarm clock) putting his hand on errenous somali war. It is this what is to bend for a piece of loaf and kill innocent people in Somalia which is democracy or massacring the people of Gambella,Sidama, oromo etc.
We should ask some questions:
1. If HR 2003 violates international law in that it undermines the independence of the country why sould Woyanes pay $50,000 for lobying. Didn’t they commit treason? 2. If US has no right to pass a law on Ethiopia and if it doesn’t matter whatsoever why do Woyanes bother about it?
3. Woyane is propagating that there is no human right violation in Ethiopia. If so why do they affraid about HR 2003?
May woyanes respond?
Waw! I think this report must be taken from radio fana or ETV.Don’t you think so?So desperate with messed up “Aramba ena kobo” information’s i.e a sign of deep frustration of woyane’s.What’s all these fuzz? Not to abide by the rule(constitution) which is written by themselves?”Libeluat yasebuaten kok jegra nat yeluatal”ale yagere sew! They better try another way. The peaceful way would be more advisable these time.
If we come to unity TPLF will split by itself.
Thanks Elias, keep me informed .I hope the truth will win.Now I am realized that HR-2003 more importatnt than what I was thinking.I will do my level best to push the bill forward.
thaks
First and formost, the current criminal family is illegal and illegetimate, and is an enemy of Ethiopia and Ethiopians.
The current crime family knows well that Ethiopians are not easily be intimidated and shoved off aside; threfore, for the enemy, it is a life and death battle against all Ethiopians and in the end, it knows that it will lose the battle like other enemies of Ethiopia lost the battle again and again.
The fighting against this enemy will continue until everything stolen is retained.
It is funny sometimes how Woyane experts and their ‘askaris’ formulate accusations and have their own Woyane judges preside over it?
If the USA wants to divert the aid money from the government to the real people of Ethiopia it is treason!
If for any reason any opposition wins the hearts and minds of Ethiopian majority it is treason! Wait for a moment and you will hear Woyane ‘legal experts’ coming up with treason accusation against the Honorables Congressmen Chris Smith and Donald Payne!
What these shameful idiots bring to the Ethiopian people is as usual shame and embarassment. Who better tell these parasites to stop meddling in the US affairs better than the Ethiopian people? I wish a reasonable people in State Departemnet say enough is enough!
People should come up of the list of so called state leaders so that we can have ‘askari’ list to look up.
What a shame!!!!!!!
