Enraged Somalis drag Woyanne corpse – CNN

Those who murdered Shibre Desalegn and called her “hooligan” are being treated like the blood thirsty pigs they are in the streets of Mogadishu. It is good to see Woyanne pigs cry for a change as they made us cry for the past 17 years.

MOGADISHU, Somalia (CNN) — An enraged crowd dragged the body of a Ethiopian Woyanne soldier through the streets of Somalia’s capital Thursday after gun battles with Islamic insurgents killed 19 people, witnesses reported.

In a brutal echo of a 1993 battle involving Somali militias in which the bodies of U.S. troops were dragged through the streets, crowds Thursday shouted “God is great” as they pulled the bruised, bullet-riddled corpse through a dusty Mogadishu neighborhood.

The body was bound hand and foot with wire and wrapped in a sheet of plastic when insurgents pulled it out of a car and left it with the crowd in the northern Mogadishu neighborhood of Suqa Holaha, witnesses reported.

Nine Ethiopians Woyannes are reportedly part of the 19 dead.

Another battle broke out on the city’s south side Thursday morning between Ethiopian Woyanne troops and insurgents armed with heavy machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades. The fighting drove hundreds more people from their homes, on top of the tens of thousands aid agencies say have fled in recent weeks.

Ethiopians Woyannes will launch violent attacks on us, for some of their comrades have been killed today,” said Rahma Nor Omar, an elderly woman in the capital. “They will be like wounded animals.”

Witnesses put the death toll from the day’s clashes at 19, including Ethiopian Woyanne troops, insurgents and civilians.

Ethiopian Woyanne troops arrived in Somalia in December 2006 to help a weak Somali government drive the Islamic Courts Union out of Mogadishu and restore a U.N.-backed transitional government after a decade and a half of near-anarchy. The Islamists responded by launching an insurgency against Somali government and Ethiopian Woyanne troops that has lasted nearly a year.

  1. Ethiopians have been begging Woyanne for peace and reconciliation. They slapped us in the face in return. We bowed down to Woyanne’s terror. They thought they could do the same in Somalia. Somalis told them to get out of their country. Woyanne invaded them, pillaged them, raped them. Unlike us, Somalis are shooting back. We may not like to see dead bodies being dragged in the streets, but does that make us morally superior to Somalis? Do we have the moral authority to question or denounce what Somalis are doing to Woyanne and its mercinary soldiers?

  2. Dear Elias,
Inadvertently, you’ve just made it very clear that what you are capable of doing so far in ethiopian politics is consistently changing references from Ethiopia to Woyanne. As to me, as long as you keep it all at this, NO question, you would one day be honored as the “most influential Patriotic Opposition”.
    Chin up.

  3. HERE IS the FACT:
Remember what Ato Bulcha,Prof.Beyene,Ato Temesgen Other democratic leaders said to the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE—they said the war b/n Ethiopia and Somali is purposeless, meaningless, of no use,& reason but the tricky LIDETU was supporting it.See how maturity and experience matters!!By the way Meles knows all the consequence and loss but he also is sure what he gains.Meles is a very misleading leader he is able to forcast how he survives,You know what I mean, taking side to powerful nation—that is the real fact.Still Meles should be responsible for inhumanly treated and died woyanne soldiers in Somalia.

  4. My heart aches for Shibre Desalegn. I thank Elias for displaying this beautiful fighter for freedom who had paid the ultimate sacrifice. I pray that the day will come that our nation will be free from the cruel grips of thugs and recognize her sacrifice.
The Weyanne soldiers are mere mecenaries making enemies for future generations of Ethiopia. I believe we must act in unison to condemen the unprovoked invasion of Somalia

  5. hello elias . I am realy sorry for those soldier who died in somalia, for they are ethiopian soldier , not wayane. You used the word wayane use against ethiopian solder , he used to call them “YE DERGE soldier”.Those soldier are ethiopian , they serve thier country . they very limitted option. we should respect them. let me ask one thing most of American people not support Iraq war,but they support and respect thiersoldier because they are not republican or bush’s soldier, they are american.I think you are happy by wartching those soldier dragged by somali.

  6. To be honest, I would have done the same what the Somalis did if I had the chance. The atrocity committed by the Weyane is incomparable to any thing even by African standard. So TPLF mercenaries beware, Ethiopians will certainly revenge in kind! Our tolerance is not unlimited.

  7. Dear Elias,

  8. Selam Elias ,

I am proud of you , you are doing great in all corners ,

I have one comment for you if it sounds good , as Kinjit has got the heart of most Ethiopians , we have to work hard also to get the heart of our soldiers dying at Mokadisho and at every where in the country, they are ours , it is the boss who is woyane , not the guy who dieing and being dragged in streets , we have to respect them , we have to fight for there return to home , as American’s are doing , we have to differentiate Woyane junta leaders in in the military from the innocent soldiers , being a soldier is there fate of life.

Respect to those who respect there country !!!!

  9. Responding to Tutu, You probably didn’t lose any relative when Woyane masscar peaceful Ethiopians, Those are the same Woyane soldiers who killed Ethiopians. If they are Ethiopians they shouldn’t join the military. So shut you your mouth. Elias this is for you. NO OTHER ETHIOPIAN DEDECATE HIM SELF THE TIME AND MONEY TO HIS COUNTRY LIKE YOU. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR LOVELY FAMILIES. YOU WILL SLEEP WITH OUT GUILT. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

  10. TUTU,you know why the american people support their troops eventhough they don’t support the war in IRAQ?They(the American soldiers) never shot one single bullet to their owen peoples.

  11. Ya me too. I am relly sorry for the soliders but at the same time I am not sorry b/c they never felt sorry when they shoot my own people. so, I believe that not all soliders are like that bur the agazi should go to hell b/c I don’t think they ethiopian soliders b/c if they were they would not kill their people.

May God bless Ethiopia 4 ever.

  12. Why Ethipians don’t hire Somail fighters to get ride of the blood suckers TPLF boys?TPLF a bunch of Child killers and blood suckers….in Somali they can not kill whoever they want like they did and doing in ethiopia and get away with it in Somali. In somali they’r real men who can fight and die for what they stand for.Thank the somali freedom fighters may good lrd bless your hear and souls.

  13. I totally agree with Elias that these soldiers are nothing but Woyanne tools of terror. The moral indignation and self-righteousness displayed by some Ethiopians are amazing. These very soldiers are committing atrocious crimes in Ogaden and inside Ethiopia. They ruin the water wells, they rape someone`s daughters and even mothers, and they kill innocent civilians for sport. What are they doing in Mogdishu? It makes me sick to the stomack when I see bodies dragged. But those Somalis feel invaded, violated and humiliated. It is easy to see where they are coming from.Meles is responsible for all these mayhem and madness.

  14. Dear Elias , we love you. you are a true brother. May God bless you.Ignore the woyane’s supporters comment. We are with you. Long live mother Ethiopia and Down with TPLF mafias! Death to the woyane mercinary soldiers! Victory for Somalian people!
    Regards
    King Laliba!

  15. There is a fine line between love and hate for Ethiopia. If we are against the government’s policy in Somalia’s crisis, it is honest love for Ethiopia; however, applaud when Ethiopian soldiers dragged by subhuman mentality is hate for Ethiopians. We remember when the Ethiopian soldiers defended their country against Somalia’s aggression; the woyannes and EPRP were saying the same thing “the derge military”. Two wrongs do not make one Wright. Ethiopians or any human being for that matter does not deserve such barbaric treatment. It is a disgrace for Somalians.

  16. The central point is that Woyanne crime families are desperately trying to extend their sinful and criminal life on waisting the lives of small children.

All mothers of those little dead ones said,”we know, we will never see our little ones alive the moment they are taken away from our caring arms. We already cry and cry on a daily basis.”

What Meles Zinawi is telling us, right now is that, wait, wait, don’t rush; more is to come.

It is imenient that woyanne dead solders’ mother will speak soon too. Because all mothers are the same of have a strong feeling for their loved dead ones, too.

What many observers are saying is, may Isayas Afework on surely knowing that Meles Zinawi’s armies capturing him, he might do to woyanne soldiers what somolias did to the dead woyanne solders in somalia. The question is, how many dead woyanne solders will dragged dead in the strees of Asmera?

As insiders passed on the information to public, Isayas Afework has alredy broadcasted to all former and current followers that they be ready for all eventualities. So it is just a matter of time that woyanne and shabya soldiers are meeting wherever they they want to and cause untold distruction to their soldiers.

  17. Elias

You are a true Patriot – You kept reminiding us of who the true enemy of Ethiopia is – Ofcourse WOYANE is the ultimate enemy of Ethiopia and Ethiopians. I have no sympathy towards those Woyane mercenaries who are being dragged on the streets of Moquadisho – for the past 10 months they killed, maimed, raped Somalis in thousands.

I wish to see the body of Melese the tyrant also dragged on the roads of Addis Ababa – a little consolation for all the crime he has perpetrated against the people of Ethiopia, the Ogaden Somalis, Oromos, Agnuaks etc

Elias: Keep up the good work – You certainly speak for millions of Ethiopians Not for minority Woyane!

  18. Ethiopia has no legitimate government. ‘Woyane’, with its police and military, is just an armed terrorist group. They are the same people who are terrorizing peace loving Ethiopians; now they are marching to neighbouring countries with their same evil intentions. They are not in Somalia for a football game. They went there to kill. The intention to kill is as bad as killing and dragging a dead body on the street. I feel sad for any person being killed, Ethiopian or Somali, civil or military.

We involved in peaceful straggle with ‘Woyane’; and ‘woyane’ never hesitated to use the police and military to kill civilians. If ‘Woyane’ insists in its ‘terrorist’ strategy at home, what would be the alternative strategies for Ethiopians? Considering the determination of the Ethiopian people to bring change, continuous cruelty of ‘Woyane’ might result in increased armed straggle. Then, are we expecting the police and the military to side with the people? I don’t think so. Possibly, individuals and groups may defect and join the peoples’ struggle. But, can we imagine what will happen if the police and the military keep on shooting on the people, until they are defeated by force? If this is going to happen, how confident we are to say that Ethiopians will not do the same thing the Somalis have done to the Woyanes? It should not be expected of any human being, unless he is borne of Christ, to tolerate humiliating and repressive actions indefinitely. So, be it in Ethiopia or Somalia, the consequence of fighting for ‘Woyane’ could be the same.

The people of Somalia are as human as Ethiopians; and they need and deserve the same peace we Ethiopians are fighting for. The way one reacts and responds (in action or words) only indicates how he/she is affected by and feels the pain of humiliating and repressive actions of ‘Woyane’, and the level of anger he/she is in. So, I do not see any reason for Ethiopians to condemn the way the Somalis are reacting and handling the corpuses of ‘Woyane’ solders. Does it make sense to condemn the Somalis for mistreating a dead body, while we know that they have been mistreated alive?

The only way we can help the ‘Woyanes’ to get out of their distractive actions, in which they are killing and dying, is to work hard to make them accept peaceful resolution to the political crises at home.

  19. I think we should not condone such inhumane assault on an incapacitated and dead human body. Has everyone here lost his/her civilized conscience and began cheering such terrible acts to dead body. It sounds that a lot of you have lost all of your compassion. According to your justification of such a macabre act, it is perfectly appropriate for you to take out and mutilate John Wayne Gacy’s or Ted Bundy’s dead body and drag it in front of Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target and grocery stores so people in the community watch this spectacle. Are you a product of the same society wherein I was born and grow up? I can not believe you at all. You have turned into monsters. Mr. Elias!!!I commended you before for what you have been doing. Are you condoning such a barbaric act? If you do, I don’t think you are making a sane and sound editorial decision. I am baffled and disgusted by this cheering crowd here. Be and stay humans not savage animals!!!!
