MOGADISHU (Reuters) – Somali insurgents dragged the bodies of dead Ethiopian Woyanne soldiers through the streets of Mogadishu on Thursday in the latest outbreak of fighting that has sent thousands fleeing the capital.
Witnesses said at least three Ethiopian Woyanne soldiers, who are backing the interim Somali government, were killed during battles in the Sqa Holaha neighbourhood in northern Mogadishu.
“I saw three Ethiopian Woyanne troops killed by insurgents. Crowds of people were chanting ‘God is great’ and dragging their bodies on the ground,” resident Deqo Ali told Reuters.
Images of dead Americans dragged through the streets by joyous Somalis deeply shocked U.S. public opinion, precipitating American withdrawal and contributing to the ending of the U.N. peacekeeping operation in 1995.
Ethiopian Woyanne corpses were also dragged through Mogadishu in March, during offensives against insurgent strongholds in which hundreds died.
Fighting in Mogadishu this year has sent hundreds of thousands fleeing the city and made aid delivery next to impossible in the capital.
Hundreds of residents burned tyres and poured into the streets of southern Mogadishu on Wednesday to protest against the Ethiopian Woyannes, who helped the government seize the lawless capital last year and are essential to retaining control.
In the south-central town of Baidoa, where the Somali parliament still sits, the United Nations country head urged legislators on Thursday to move quickly to stem the humanitarian crisis.
“I want to be clear here today that 1.5 million Somalis are in need of emergency aid. And the number of people that have been displaced goes up 850,000,” U.N. Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia Eric Laroche told parliament.
“We have to be able to help them and we have a problem reaching them.”
Parliament’s main order of business will be approving a new prime minister to succeed Ali Mohamed Gedi, who resigned last week after a feud with the president.
President Abdullahi Yusuf told parliament, which has approved a legal change allowing non-legislators to serve as prime minister and cabinet ministers, that he would work quickly to find a replacement.
“We now have a challenge to nominate a prime minister, which I promise I will do by consulting with you,” Yusuf said. Neither he nor his allies have said whom they are considering.
Diplomats say the legal change has widened the pool of qualified leaders from beyond the parliament, which counts among its members many illiterate warlords and clan leaders.
They hope the interim government will be able to bring in qualified leaders from the Somali diaspora.
The feud between Yusuf and Gedi has stalled progress by the government, the 14th attempt at imposing central rule since the 1991 overthrow of dictator Mohamed Siad Barre plunged the Horn of Africa country into anarchy in 1991.

The Woyane soldiers are Ethiopians. The are ours. TPLF is responsible for the death of those Ethiopians who are being murdered in Somalia.
what goes around comes back around

Response from the Editor
These soldiers are paid employees of the Woyanne brutal regime. They have invaded a neighboring country, massacred its young men, displaced hundreds of thousands of the population, raped its women, and wreaked havoc in the country at the service of Woyanne. It is these same soldiers who gunned down Ethiopian pro-democracy protestors in the streets of Addis Ababa and other cities. It is these same soldiers who shot in the back harmless girls like Shibre Desalegn, Meseret Tadesse and other. It is these same soldiers who committed genocide in Gambela and are currently waging a scorched earth policy in Ogaden. These solders are committing all these war crimes willingly on behalf of Woyanne. To recognize these soldiers as Ethiopian army is to dishonor the real Ethiopian soldiers of the past. It is an insult to real Ethiopian soldiers like Dej. Balcha Aba Nefso, Ras Alula Aba Nega, Col. Abdisa Aga, Ras Tessema Nadew, and numerous others. Those troops in Somalia are Woyanne mercenaries and war criminals. Those of you who call them “Ethiopian soldiers” are collaborators in their crime.

please, don’t post this kind of inhuman pictures and news
Let all woyanes soldiers being killed. They are not Ethiopians. They do not represent me anyway. kill them all! Thanks for our Somalian brethrens, Shibres death is being revenged. Moquadish is not Addis/Finfine where the the TPLF thug army massacre our innocent brethrens.Moquadish is fulled with machine guns to repel the Woyane thug army.
They Woyanes know Moquadisho is a battle field. If they lose Moquadish, I am 100% sure they are coming to lose thier dectatorial power in Adiss/Finfine. The war will not stops at the border. It will come to Addis directly and it will continue to direct Tigray. There, we will destroy the whole thing which was built on the cost of our poor Ethiopian people by the Tigrian mafia called TPLF. we will then chase them until Sudan .These criminal thugs need to be wiped out from our mother land Ethiopia for once and for all. They are cancer for all of us. So I will say it again kill them all! Moquadish is a battle field. Not only for brave Somalian brethrens but also for all Ethiopian rebel group. The armed struggle is being intensefied and the struggle will continue. They woyane and thier thug army are stucked in forieng country. They will all being punished what they deserve. They are not Ethiopians. They do not represent me. They are the Woyane armies.
Believ it or not, the armed struggle will come to Addis/ Finfine. Wait and see. The woyane officials aare very nervous now
Kill them all!
what ever it is they are ethiopians and I feel it deeply as an ethiopian.Draging our brothers dead body is an aceptable….and offending
Shame on you!!These are our own brothers in somalia.Weather they are there by order or willingly, they are fighting terrorism and they are still Ethiopians, brothers & Sisters.and their ethiopian blood should not be tainted as enemy. You can insult the government but not Ethiopia and Ethipians
This is how Woyanne treats real Ethiopian solidiers. Go to this link and read:
http://www.ethiopianreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4122
I agree with some of you. These are our brothers afterall even if they are forced to do so by Woyanne.
Now, I am firmly convinced that this site is run by anti-Ethiopian forces. I hate woyanne but I will be hating you more.
Don’t you know a soldier who is your relative in some way? Do you like her/him dragged like these? I hope not!
They should be punished for not respecting rule of war. Punish them hard these shiritams. Don’t forget that they have been our historic enemies. I know what they did to Hararge, Bale… in 1960s.
i wish meles dead body drugged like this the solderes are our ppl guys we must teach our solderes to turn there gun to meles and his cadres
Furthermore,
Elias, we were saying that injustice anywhere is a threat to injustice everywhere. Thus, even if the solidiers in Somali are Ethiopians, they are engaged in injustice. They are not free from condemnation for their support to the dictatorial regime in Ethiopia. The fact that they are Ethiopian does not absolve them of any responsibility. They get what they deserve. Let them get out of Somalia.
it realy shows you’r un human behavier.and your anti-ethiopian stand.the only place is known for posting dade boody is osama biladen web sit.elias you are not differnt.

Islamic Courts Retaking Mogadishu
By Abdul-Rahman Yusuf, IOL Correspondent
Islamic Courts fighters have seized control of at least six of the capital’s 16 neighborhoods
MOGADISHU — They vanished into thin air a few days after the war broke out, to the disappointment of supporters and shock of the enemy, but Islamic Courts fighters are slowly taking back the capital Mogadishu.
“The security situation has improved greatly since their return,” Yahiya Jamali, a resident of Essi Abadi neighborhood in northeast Mogadishu, told IslamOnline.net.
Residents say Islamic Courts fighters have seized control of at least six of the capital’s 16 neighborhoods.
They also control the Bakari central market, Somalia’s largest marketplace, and the headquarters of the post and communications companies, according to witnesses.
The fighters are patrolling the streets in broad daylight to enforce law and order in the inflammable capital.
“Thieves have vanished since Islamic Courts fighters began roaming the streets,” said Mohammed Hefo from Homr Jadid neighborhood in southern Mogadishu.
“The fighters have killed several notorious gangsters and threatened youngsters who rob cellular phones at gunpoint,” he added.
“Now people can move safely in the streets.”
Somalia enjoyed a rare sense of security for the first time in a generation under the Islamic Courts, before being toppled by Ethiopian and interim government forces in a two-week war last year.
Since then the capital has descended into chaos, with thousands of residents fleeing several neighborhoods.
Ex-Deputy Premier Hussein Aidid, Islamic Courts leader Sheikh Sharif Ahmed and sacked parliament speaker Sharif Hassan recently formed a joint national front, Alliance for the Re-Liberation of Somalia (ARS), against the Ethiopian occupation.
Their forces are waging a guerrilla-style war, carrying out hit-and-run attacks, mainly by night and in Mogadishu.
Support
The re-emergence of the Islamic Courts is attributed to growing public resentment for Ethiopian and government troops.
“The Ethiopians don’t distinguish between young and old,” said analyst Abdullah Abdi.
“They kill anyone whether a civilian or gunman.”
Four were killed when Ethiopia-backed Somali forces opened fire on civilians in the Taleh neighborhood on Tuesday, November 6.
Two bodies of civilians were also recovered from northern Mogadishu’s Gupta neighborhood after Ethiopian forces conducted security operations there.
Late October, Ethiopian troops killed three civilians during a protest against their presence.
Bodies of civilians held by Ethiopian troops were found carrying torture signs, say witnesses.
“Violations committed by Ethiopian and government forces have motivated residents to take in Islamic Courts fighters and hide them,” said Abdi.
“The people know their enemies and friends.”
Somalis traditionally view the Christian military giant across their border as a rival.
Independent analysts believe that any Ethiopian presence in Somalia was sure to provoke a response from the general population.
Allahu Akbar! الله أَكْبَر
God is great, 10 agazee gone, the count and dragging continues! The filthy infidels shall be eliminated with the grace of Allah.
Elias,
Please come back to your senses. As we all never approved the barbaric act of the Agazis who shot peaceful demonstrators in the streets of Addis Abeba, we should equally condemn the sporadic killings and mass rapes in the ogaden. The intervention of the Ethiopian army in Somalia is uncalled for and is totally irresponsible. However, dragging dead bodies on the streets is barbaric and disgusting. After all, these soldiers are Ethiopians who are not politically conscious but doing what they are instructed to do. I am sure there is a lot of insanity out there. But my friend two wrongs do not make a right. I would suggest some moderation in your language.
Dear all,
Let me remind you that it is the army who took the leed with students and peasants when toppling down the atrocious feudalism in Ethiopia in 1974.. though few bunch of worse dictators like Mengistu took advantage of it greatly assisted by the wrong way of struggle which few misguided and power thirsty EPRP figures perpetuated by the cost of many innocent country fellows.. Coming to TPLF led government soldiers, everyone of you has to think what you would do if you were one of them……. Would you shoot on peaceful demonstrators in cities and towns or would you prefer to die instead of killing children and elders????? Would you dare to rape your ethnic somali women sisters?? would you kill a husband infront of a wife when the head in commmand of your group order? Or would you dare to kill him instead????? The bullets any soldier carries kills the commanders as well….. Why do you think soldiers in 1974 disobeyed their notorious comanders and collaborated with the people???? Was it becuase they had more responsibility than the current soldiers???? Don’t you ever think that soldiers in the undemocratic countries have the best chance of making chnages for good??? They do have the capability if they use their minds and if there is any national feeling within them……. How would you feel if you were Shibre’s brother?? how would you feel as a father if one of your sons got shot infront of you??? How do you think that mother who lost two of her adult sons on a single day feel????? Would you welcocme the order to kill civilians if you were one of the soldiers???? Would you????? Me, not.. not at all! Those who takes order from evil and strive for its accomplishment are also evil………. Let me ask you all one question, If i lure or order one of you to hold a gun which i provided to you without your consent and kill your neighbour in America….do you think your being ordered by me at a gun point be an absolute excuse for your innocence???? The answer is no,, Of course i will take the ultimate blame and be convicted harshly .. but you also will take a less harsh but still will be a convict….. It is true that Meles Zenawi and his Tribal fellows will take the ultimate blame and responsibility for all those massacres and crimes against East African people but still soldiers serving these thugs’ interest are not blameless too.
At last, Justice will prevail.. mind that Dictator Mengistu was as powerfull as Meles Zenawi when he was gone for good.
My heartfelt gratitude to ER for showing the truth. The victim could be one of the shooters of the november 2005 massacare of addis ababa. Probably a natural justice is being served for the thousands of women who were raped, for thousand of ogadenes tortured and killed, for the outrageous invansion of a soveriegn state for no reason.
We will definetly see more of such pictures. Victory le chekunu hizeb!!!!
Whoever thinks the Woyane soldiers are Ethiopian Army, also believes the Woyane Regime is a legitimate Ethiopian Government. We need to understand the rationale behind Woyane’s invasion of Somalia. It was to put in place a pupet government that will protect its interest which will not allow any Ethiopian opposition party to use Somalia as a spring board for a poosible armed resistance against it.Therefore, we have no sympathy for mercinaries who never hesitated to pull triger to shoot a child of 10 years old.
Sewuch, the dragged soldier had all the right to say no to meles and co. He could escape and run away from TPLF. I am sure this guy is not Tigray, cos tigray soldiers have never been sent to battle fields. Its the Amharas, the Oromos, the Sidamas, the gambellas… that are used for such high risk missions. So the question is why the hell was this guy risking his life to protect meles interest?? Why did he prefer to be part of the force that dragged innocent ethiopians in the land of their own country?? why did he say no?? the only answer for these questions are COS HE IS HODDAM!! All TPLF soldiers are HODDAMS. Hope his friends will take a lesson from this and turn the point of their gun to Melese!!!! Otherwise their fate is gonna be the same!!
VICTORY FOR THE PEOPLE OF ETHIOPIA; VICTORY FOR THE PEOPLE OF SOMALIA!!!!!
I am shocked to note that you have no respect even for dead ethiopian soliders. Regardless of what race they are, and whether they believe in the war in somalia or not, they were still Ethiopians. Shame on you editors of ethiopian review!!!
LISTEN PLEASE!!!!!!!!
Everybody should say sorry for the death of Ethiopian soldiers there in Somalia.B/c first of all they are dying in vain.Second they are our brothers and sisters. The bottom line is Woyanne should be responsible for the chaos. The soldiers are poor individuals like every Ethiopians ordered by the tyrant Meles to be killed in Somalia without any reason. Here the point is to let Meles know that he will die like the poor soldiers if he continues his dictatorship. This is a good oppotunity for any human right activist to blame Meles as a primary cause of such inhuman scene.
I just can not believe this! These soldiers were just doing their duty, right or wrong. This is not about politics anymore. For people to cheer the mutilation of their bodies is beyond comprehension. And I am a strong Kinijit supporter. It’s savages and extremists like you who give the opposition a bad rap.
Someone once said that while others may hate you, it’s only when you hate them back that you begin to destroy yourself.
There are many soldiers who joined to be able to help their families and found themselves in situations they could not control, and some of them fell in the line of duty just doing their job. No need to spit in their grave. No need at all.

Cry all the mothers of those little boys who bodies are mutulated then tied and drugged acorss the dirt street of somalia.
The lawless crime family of Meles Zinawi are absolutely responsible for snatching the children out of their mothers’ loving hearts and caring arms and dumping them into the barabic jaws of the hunters.
For now, the crime faamily is happy because it is punishing the unfortuante mothers at the same time creating volcanic eruption in Somalia. Is it fair?????
On the other fronts, just for the sake humilating that fugitive Isayas Afework, Meles the criminal is accumilationg thousands and thousands of children of the another unfortunate mothers to send into the inferno; this one, for sure, will engulf the entire population in unstoppale anger and will definitely cause the people to rise up to defend their children.
The fortunate children of the crime family are enjoying orange juces and cornflakes every single morning while the children of the poor mothers dying face down onto dusty streets of Somalia. IS it fair??????????!!!!!!!Is it fair!!
It is very unfortunate that Meles has put these soldiers in this mess. Please let’s remember that they are our brothers. I gurantee you that Meles and his friends will not put one of their own in harms way. They may be the commanding officers but not the ones dying in Somalia. Please please let’s pray for their safe return and for their families.
People join the army for various reasons, economic reason being the main reason. We shouldn’t blame these people for having joined the army, the blame should be on those who are use them to do the wrong thing. These young men who came from different parts of the country didn’t have the information we have. The massacre after the 2005 election, clearly showed that the Agazi army had no clue what they were doing. They were just following orders. They were turned into animal by their trainers. They thought they were doing something right. May be some day someone will be accountable for turning these innocent people into animals. Let’s remember that one of the goals for ‘the struggle for democracy’ includes freeing these men and women from such leaders.
Elias you said it all. I agree 101% with you. If Woyanne soldiers are truely Ethiopians, they shouldn’t go to Mogadisho after they lost thousands of their friends for the Bademe “senseless war”. If they do have brain, they should think over why the woyanne head said it “senseless war”. These woyanne soldiers do not have brains. They are blindly driven from the back like cattle. They are cruel for the innocents and kind(honest)for their cruel bosses. They are working and dying for the life of Woyanne leaders not for Mother Ethiopia. When Woyanne was at the verge of death in ’05, these soldiers were the life saver. Shame on you woyane soldiers. You spilled the blood of peaceful Ethiopians. Now you get your deserve.
More dead Woyane militia in Mogadishu @ http://beerdhiga.com/
Elis,
You might think that such scenes will demoralize and terrify WOYANE and create chaos among the gallant ETHIOPIAN military! Do you know that the current WOYANE has passed challenges that were by far 100 times more atrocious than what you are trying to hypnotize to your weak audiences? The fundamental cause of all your madness is a voracious desire to seize power and enter Menilik’s palace! Things are not as simple as they appear in your rubbish web site and you need to go long way to get into Menilik’s palace. In regard to the savage terrorists, if it gives you mental satisfaction please enjoy your loyal audiences with the following pictures. http://www.shabelle.net/news/ne3964.htm
I like the comment given by Belay Zeleke. The truth behind the invasion of the sovereign country is to put in place a pupate government in Somalia that serves Woyane and is to deny ground for Ethiopian armed struggle groups.
I totally agree with Elias, the Woyane soldiers in Somalia are the enemies of Somali as well as Ethiopian, period. The least we expect from these soldiers is to abound Woyane, otherwise we continue to pray them dead in the street of Somalia. They are the killing machine of Woyane. Let alone Somalis, If I had a brother serving as Woyane Solder, I would have killed him. Kalas.
After the crime family of that Mafia Meles Zinawi’s regime lost the election, in 2005, Meles Naziawi’s special and elite brutal soldiers killed more than 200 Eethiopians.
Right now, as we speak and as our hearts bleed for all those victims of the crime family, Meles Naziawi’s crime family is enjoying redblood wine and eating rice like hungry pigs.
May be soon or tomorrow, the crime family of Meles Naziawi will be captured dead or alive. May we pray for their downfall. Amen.
