An Orthodox Church priest shot to death in North Shoa

An Ethiopian Orthodox Church priest named Aba Tekle-Mariam, who is the administrator of Kidus Mikael Church in Shenkora Woreda, North Shoa, was shot to death by unknown individuals last week. Aba Tekle-Mariam’s body was hurriedly buried without autopsy.

ጉዳዩን አስመልክቶ ለፓትሪያሪኩ ጽ/ቤት ማመልከቻ የቀረበ ቢሆንም እስካሁን የተወሰደ እርምጃ የለም፡፡

I can’t imagine how the woyane regime keeps killing, abusing and harassing the Ethiopian people, while we are engaging our self with the crises of the cud leadership delegation group in NA, which is not appropriate compare how much else we can do to prevent the damages on our people form TPLF gangs. As a matter of fact it wasn’t bad to address our concerns as a cud supporter regarding these little crises. However, it has been already two months everyone is discussing and arguing about this issue, while the problem should be resolved among the leaders. As a cud supporter we should have a lot to discuss and make different actions to save our people from the TPLF atrocities everyday in Ethiopia. This shocking news on the death of this priest should be a wakeup call for all of us to completely leave the cud crises to the leaders and divert our attention to the nonstop problems created by TPLF in Ethiopia. Sometimes we should aware of that the TPLF cadres in Diaspora won’t us to stop the argument regarding cud crises. They pretend as if they are cud supporters and they keep taking our attention to this issue, while we have to turn our face in the reaction of TPLF brutal activities. Let’s start making action on HR2003, sign the petition, and contact your senators with a follow up phone calls. Let’s work for our unity and again let’s stop arguing on the crises of cud. Let’s give them our total support on their way back to Ethiopia. Let’s show them our capability by doing actions instead of talking. Let’s say I’m going to participate and do my part in support of cud.

  3. For more than a week now, Muslims in Chagni and surrounding areas are being arrested en mass. According to witnesses, the problem started on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, when Students of the town’s secondary School (preparatory school) who went out to perform their prayer were prevented from entering the school again. While the students were negotiating with the guards and explaining to them why they left the compound, school administrators called on police who then immediately arrested more than 60 Students.

  4. I just stumbled across this story whilst searching for something else.

    I think you’ve got this one wrong guys! This happened at Dofa Michael Debr. I was in Bulga at the time and the monk administrator of this debr was killed by the monks who did not get along with him!

    Nothing to do with TPLF/EPRDF as Fetenaw says or aba Diabilos as ARGAW says. Having said all that, may the monk’s soul rest in peace!
