I am not happy about the poem.It is too gloomy and condemns all in one. After all, differences in members of the same political party inevitably happens. What is important is the way the politicians resolve their diferences. We,the supporters, need to be patient, optimistic and rational in our judgement of the matter.AYZON WONDIME!
Of course, one has to fight for freedom. No question about it! However, what I try to convey with the poem is that we should be aware of the nature of politics while we struggele so that we are not taken by surprise when unexpected things happen triggered by events. Politics and polticians could be treacherous, unreliable, opportunist, rutheless, unforgiving, cruel, selfish, dirty and even bloody. We have seen this in the history of all human societies and even in recent Ethiopia. The divisions, factions, betrayals and killings which took place in Ethiopia for the last 30 years alone among the progessive opposition political groups and even within the rank of the Derg is a case in point. All of them had one goal, but they split on the tactic and annihilated each other, because this is the nature of politics. It was this hard fact that I was attempting to depict in my poem, “Awey Politika”. If a fighter doesn’t understand the nature of politics and politicians clearly, he/she will be hurt severly when poltics becomes ugly. Hence, the significance of understanding the essence of politics and politicians for those who are engaed in freedom fighting so that they wouldn’t feel bitter when things go wrong as it happened recently in Kinijit and other camps.

I hope this will explain it all.
