Kinijit delegates Wzt. Bertukan Mideksa, Dr Hailu Araya and Ato Brook Kebede went to Minneapolis yesterday to meet with the party’s estranged chairman, Ato Hailu Shawel. The meeting took place at a Minneapolis hospital. The date and time of the meeting were picked to accommodate Ato Hailu’s treatment schedule.
Before flying to Minneapolis, the delegates were told by Solomon Bekele (a self-proclaimed member of the Shaleqa gang) that Ato Hailu’s son, Anteneh, would be the contact person who would take them to the hospital where Ato Hailu is receiving treatment.
On Thursday morning, upon arriving in Minneapolis, the delegates called Ato Anteneh from the airport. Anteneh told them to call him when they get closer to the hospital.
They called him when they arrived near the hospital. He gave them a number they can use to reach his father. They made several calls, but no body would answer the phone.
The delegates called Anteneh again and told him about the difficulty they are facing in reaching Ato Hailu. He promised to call them back after he talked to his father or his handlers.
A few minutes later he called them back and told them that he, too, could not reach Ato Hailu.
The delegates did not give up. They asked Anteneh to tell them the exact place where he is at. He was not willing to give that information right away.
After wasting three and half hours trying to reach Ato Hailu, finally the handlers (Dr Taye’s agents) allowed them to meet him — with only less than twenty minutes left before they had to rush back to the airport.
When the delegates entered Ato Hailu’s room, they gave him flowers, and he received them warmly. After exchanging greetings, they got right down to business.
Since they had already wasted over 3 hours trying to find Ato Hailu, they had only 15 minutes with him. But they were very important 15 minutes, for it was their first face to face meeting since they left Addis Ababa. They asked Ato Hailu to give them unrestricted and direct access to him, and told him that they want to meet with him again as soon as possible for further discussion. Ato Hailu agreed.
Both Ato Hailu and the delegates where in good spirits as they left the hospital room.
But this morning the good spirit turned into disappointment once again when the delegates saw in a web site (kinijit.org) that is controlled by Ato Mogus Brook this (click here to read).
It is clear that Taye, Mogus, Yoseph and cohorts are bent on keeping the leadership crisis in Kinijit going as long as they can. But the Kinijit delegates’ patience is slowly bearing fruit. If they some how manage to spend enough time with Ato Hailu, there is a good chance that they can bring him back to the Kinijit leadership fold.
The Shaleqa-Taye-EPRP gang has organized a fund raising event in Washington DC on Sunday, Oct. 14. We cannot wait to be there and confront this thieves who stole our money, and now took our chairman hostage.

Dear netters;
I ca understand your frastration about the Kinijit leadeship crises. But we all have to understand that there is limit at what is going on. Let’s not put fuel on the fire. We can be positive influence by making sure that both sides are talking to each other and get the problem out of the way. The last thing we need tod is making judgements on one party or on other. We should understand that they are elected officials. They have to learn how to work together and preasure must be put on them to do so.
Thanks.
Elias I really want to say I love you just for being positive this time…
It does not matter what anybody tries to do but what matters is we are out to win our leader back and keep him on the side of the truth. making sure that the truth is in the air and known by all, the way that should be done is an open audit and challenge to all sides of the diaspora kinijits suports that brought the division… when I say all sides I mean all, excluding the Eprp and mirchaw. The two “talka gebe” are just aiming for another 15 minuts fame; therfore, the train should pick up the chairman and leave behind stooges that are aiming to shoot down cudp….
kinijit fiker new…..
I wish I can say and feel what I have felt for a very long time before this matter about “Dr. Taye. having paid a price and steped up to a challenge of face to face fight with woyana , I wish he had stayed out of kinijit so I could have at least say ” he once paid a great deal of sacrifice”. The time is still valid and he should rethink and not be judged by rookie politicians like me . ” I believe am a petriot not a politician” but when commenting of an internal problem of a party that has nothing to do with the bylaw of the party and the “one Ethiopia”, it becomes more politics that petriotizem.
May God Bring Our Leaders Together and peace to our country .
Elias,
Thanks for exposing these thugs. They are good for nothing scumbags. I am really disappointed by Ato Hailu Shawel.
By the way, Minnepolis is preparing to welcome the true sons of Ethiopia. We are waiting for October 19th. Our fund raising goal is to beat all cities but DC.
We will show Shaleqa and his Feudal/EPRP thugs where Minnesota stands!!
What surprises me is Ato Hailu. Isn’t he sick? If he is so sick and have few minutes for meeting with the delegates, then it is clear he should resign. “Ebab ye libun ayto iger nesaw” new negeru. If he is sick, he has to give power to those who are healthy. Thanks to God he never came a PM of Ethiopia.
Good move!
They should again try to talk with him until to the point of no return sothat there will not be any slight reason that may confuse those who are liable or blindly stand by his side.
Some people are determined to keep Ato Hailu and the rest of CUD members apart. What is bothering me, however, is that Ato Hailu does not look resolute about having a stance against this people. It fells as if he is being threatened or potentially blackmailed not to unite with his compatriots. I thought he had passion and conviction for a farfetched cause as he demonstrated this along with compatriots by going to prison for it. I am afraid this will boil down to nothing if he continues to defy the voice of party members or the people of Ethiopia at large. If he has a genuine reservation against the rest of CUD pack, which he may think is irreconcilable, he should disclose it to the Public. But I am of the notion that his divergence is more of personal conflict and grudge than real political issues. If they don’t even out their friction sooner it will go a long way that may erode the credibility of the party eventually. I think some symptoms of it are already beginning to emerge. I believe that it is imperative to decide on the fate of Ato Hailu sooner than later from the perspective of loyal CUD members and leaders. The longer the time the more damaging the crises would be.
It is a good start and whoever needs the unity of the leader to the rest of the delegate should be encouraged by this first step. Regardless of what Mogus Brook’s destructive, self centered and very old style writings, I hope the two meet together again and solve their differences.
What clearly we see here is Ato.Hailu is a prisoner of Yosef,Taye Woldesemayat and Meges. These three individuals are motivated by greed and are after the diasporas money. These are ordinary theieves and bad image for Kinijit. Therefore, Ato Hailu must distance himself from them.Kinijit will not be divided by these criminals.Hailu is still respected by Ethiopians for his heroic stand against tplf mass murderers.

In Minneapolis on a Thursday: If Some Truth be told about Kinjit Delegation’s Trip to see Eng. Hailu Shawel
would like to confess the following as a concerned Ethiopian. It is very sad and extremely disappointing to see the mediation efforts that are underway and the good will both on the part of Eng Hailu and the Kinjit delegation to reconcile their differences are being sabotaged by elements who have a very narrow agenda and who do not want these efforts a mediation and reconciliation to succeed. As I have argued previously, the problem in Kinjit does not stem from major political difference or fallout between the two groups as could be seen from all open information sources. Eng Hailu Shawel’s interview with German radio this past week attests to this fact , in sharp contrast to all those with their own hidden agenda and who want us to believe otherwise. By the way , it is interesting to note that all those web sites , including Kinjit.Org and others who have been fanning the flame, did not post the interview while those who wish the problem solved did so.
These same individuals–I am sure they exist on both sides of the divide–are obdurately pursuing their very narrow personal and/or group agenda. These individuals, as attested by the very disinformation they carried on http://www.kinijit.com, are bent on seeing Kinjit split. Thereby knowingly or inadvertently rendering the organization impotent, a broken pieces of its former self, rendering millions of Ethiopians who voted and still support Kinijit disillusioned, and leading to eternal bickering of would be factions of Kinjit instead of focusing on the national agenda and vision it has promised to the people of Ethiopia. The latest effort by Kinjit delegation that went to Minneapolis, Minnesota–thanks to the effort made by many genuine Ethiopians who want to see reconciliation–to visit the ailing Chairman of Kinjit, Eng Hailu, is very far from being a “political stunt” as sadly and unabashedly characterized by the statement posted on Knijit. Org.
Why make such a bold statement in a political affair that does not strictly concern me? As I said before, it is because I firmly believe that the losers from Kinjit’s split are going to be all of us, each and every Ethiopian–all those who genuinely want the struggle of the Ethiopian people for their fundamental rights, liberty and unity to succeed– regardless of our partisan and secondary political differences and affiliation. I have first hand information from Minnesota and from few of the elders who have been playing a mediating role regarding the ordeal the delegation had to go through.
After calling Mr. Anteneh Hailu –the youngest son of Eng Hailu and a person I know as high school classmate –right on arrival at the Airport in Twin cities, Minnesota, to let him know that they have arrived , the trio –Wrt Birtukan, Dr. Hailu Araya, and Ato Biruk– had to wait for more than three and half hours calling , again and again, a telephone number given to them by Anteneh to call. No one answering the other end for hour after hour. Even then, they were extremely patient calling the same number dozen times , waited and waiting for hours without getting something to eat, famished , going from place to place, block after block in the twin cities looking for the Hospital where Eng Hailu was staying as their contact person was unable to tell them the exact place until the 11th hour .
It was not until only twenty or so minutes left for them to go back to the Airport to catch a flight to Seattle, at long last, they were allowed to see and speak with Eng Hailu at a hotel instead of a hospital. When these sources in Minnesota told details of what happened and the decision of the three person Kinjit delegation not to say any word about the ordeal , one could not but feel sad and also admire the three individuals who went all the way to Minnesota for no other reason than pay a visit to their chairman and make peace as per the advise of the mediators who have been trying their level best to make the mediation effort succeed.
It is sobering to also note that throughout their short stay and brief meeting with Eng. Hailu all three showed the utmost respect , concern, and consideration for his heath condition. This was well observed by our first hand sources despite the fact that were made to go through such a sad situation as if it was the time of the Feudal era where one has to wait for hours for the noble or aristocrat to do the eji mensat and the dej Tinat that goes with it. The incident in Minnesota and the misinformation purveyed to the general public by Kinjit.org says much about those who orchestrated this sort of sad and shameful act .
Such short sighted behavior and petty intrigue by divisive elements with extremely narrow agenda have become an integral part of the the inter party and intra party conflicts and contradictions. These elements do not give an iota of consideration for Ethiopia, the struggle, and the organization under whose banner, hundreds our people were massacred, tens of thousands imprisoned, and many disappeared throughout Ethiopia.
Once again, the “Kermo Tija” and distractive characters abound in our politics,. They are derailing and impeding us from finally and ultimately focusing on our national agenda. They are derailing the struggle, they are hampering efforts at mediation within organizations like Kinjit. They are sabotaging efforts to bring about unison and/or solidarity among all patriotic and democratic forces in the opposition camp in order to once and for all succeed in our quest to bring about a united and democratic Ethiopia for all Ethiopians.
All genuine and patriotic Ethiopians should put pressure and advise such elements that are derailing and impeding mediation and reconciliation between the two parties.
I am very serious now on the conditions which i am following. Here one thing is true, that the keysi groups & some of the family members of Eng.Hailu whatb they did is really nonsense. But the final consequence will be bad not for the majorities of the kinijit delegation members,Eng.Hailu must respect again respect & listen his collegoues not the keysi groups, because those who elect him are those the delegates,Eng.hailu must know also that he is not the King of kinijit ,don’t forget he is elected asb all others are elected ,& and Eng.Hailu I hope he will come back & jon his supporters and the genuine line.
Down with the X-KiC(keysis) & The dead EPRP dogs!
Ok now we heared a lot about Kinijit this is that group and that is from that group Yagere lijoch it is to early for critisisem. In My opinion the time is the time we move for ward and accelerate the struggle until the BUTCHER of Addis Ababa and his killing machine the AGAZI brought to Justice and free our people.
