Kinijit leaders Wzt. Bertukan Mideksa, Dr Hailu Araya and Ato Brook Kebede have flown to Minneapolis this morning to meet with the party’s estranged chairman, Ato Hailu Shawel.
According to ER sources, after several requests Ato Hailu has finally agreed to meet with the Kinijit delegates at his Minneapolis residence.
More details later.

It is good that they meet to solve the problem among themselves. This situation is a learning process for Ato Hailu that an individual is not above the party’s rule and regulations. However, if they reached in agreement to work together, there will be a big problem for the Shalqa gangs that their corruption will be exposed. So, these people (Shaleqa-Taye gangs) will do any thing in their capacity to create problems among the leaders.
I am wondering how Tensaye radio and Abiyot Tibeka Mirchaw will report about this meeting. They will create something like what Meles did during the release of our leaders.
I cant stop laughing .Elias you have ebi (fbi)everywhere you smell everything..you are so fast and funny..I think your responsiblity is just spread the news or rumors and readars digest the rest..
Thank you Elias for the information. kinjet is on the way
there is no division between them as any political party
they can solve their problem by discussion. we all say no to Shaleka and Mercawe seneshawe the one who confused and tried to divided our community. long live kinjet.vvvvvvvvv any time and any where. finally for all kinjet supporter please, don’t talk about kinjet destruction .Elias until you get any strong information don’t attack DR.TAYE WELDESEMAYAT.He is a true Ethiopian.
Elias,
While I admire your aggressiveness in journalism, I have a problem agreeing to your what I call ‘National Enqurier’ type of journalism. I want you to take it slow until you have all the facts in your hand beyond reasonable doubt before you post anything on your site. You also want to pick your words carefully not to be identified along with the tabloids. But I like your aggressivness and passion in journalism. I don’t like anything passive.
It is sad that while Ato Hailu is stuck with his grudges, his comrades are accomplishing tremendous diplomatic tasks without his involvement. It is unfortunate to watch a man of his caliber to give more priority to his personal problems with his comrades than our common goal that we all expect him to abide by as a matter of principle.
How can he be a good candidate to solve the problems of 70 million Ethiopians when he is being overwhelmingly challenged to solve his disagreements with his comrades who together spent miserable days in Weyane dungeon called Khaliti.
My suspicion is he may be experiencing fatigue or traumatic syndrome mostly psychological because of his days in prison. After prison people react differently to their experience. For some the psychological trauma persists after their release. And they can use all kind of pretext not to go back to prison without affecting their ego. If they are politicians, they may start a new line of thinking and form a different party to avoid association with the previous organization in the hope of not going to prison again. If not they may stay in the same party and pick quarrels and fights in the party and turn it into a debating society in the hope of paralyzing it from taking decisive actions. This situation discourages the government in power from taking action against the party therby reducing the chance of getting back to prison. What they are doing is they are sabotaging the party to avoid another risk of falling into the hands of the government in power while still keeping their ego. These people will sacrifice their party to avoid prison while being successful in hiding their motives.
I am suspicious Ato Hailu may be experiencing this trauma eventhough he may deny it or purposely say things to avoid suspicion like downplaying the suffering he endured in Khaliti. His behavior at the moment is too strange compared with the person we know before Khaliti. I have never and never thought that such a man would be stuck in holding grudges with his comrades who faced indignity, imprisonment, and death together. It is indeed very strange.
Kebede
I don’t think kinijit delegates spend much time on Mr. Hailu Shawel. If you square one it is one again.
If this guy is so rigid and stubborn as we have observed, he will remain to be a problem for Kinijit and for the country as well.
Ethiopia needs progressive leader for the challenging task ahead.
Very nice news…Thanks Elias..shame on EPRPians…now u allied with Weyane and start attacking the leaders of kinjit including the one & only Kibirt Birtukan Mideksa…I even read an article attacking Dr Birhanu @ Debteraw.com….I am definetly confused about what EPRP is & where EPRPian stand.
Shame on You EPRPians
Kebede:
I respectfully disagree with your analysis. Despite his other qualities, Ato Hailu has always had this dictatorial inclination. I remember during the elelection campaign back in 2005 where he would make inflammatory & conteroversial comments and pronouncements as if they were Kinjit’s position without discussing it with the leadership of Kinjit. For instance, I vividly remember him giving an interview to VOA while he was in USA declaring that Kinjit will not join parliament while the Kinjit leadership in Addis was discussing the matter. He consistently made announcements as if Kinjit’s position on issues were his personal decisions. In fact this disagreement is in the long run a blessing in disguise. I don’t think an organization that aspires to bring democracy to Ethiopia should be run with individuals that have dictatorial tendencies. Hopefully Kinijit’s leadership will find a way to let him go gracefully.
Hi Elias
Do you remember the “muya belib” old saying when referring to some ones action materializing without bragging “I AM GONNA DO IT, I WILL SHOW YOU”. In your case you are a man of action with high journalistic caliber ; you really have the skill, courage and determination to write and let all know the facts surrounding any issue. You dont show any opportunism and for you a ‘spade is a spade”. Had it not been to ER, Ethiomedia, EMF, EZ, Ethiopolitics, Abugeda, Addisvoice and other on line magazines and Blogs and Radios like VOA, DV, Addisdimts and Netsanet, the popular struggle could have long sufferred humiliating defeat and fascism could have reigned and forged ahead unhindered. You all jointly took the forefront position and exposed the crimes day in day out. Finally, we have reached the stage when USA government has opened up its eyes and ears and hopefully when it becomes law, fascism in Ethiopia will be history once and for all
Continue your good work, Akafa is always an akafa whether we use it for “mud, concrete or sand. There cannot be a distinctive term like “mud akafa or cement akafa”. Likewise, opportunists are always opportunists as long as they betrayed the popular struggle and stood against it. Would you dare say that this monkey is prettier than the other?
Continue to expose the opportunists, the embezzlers, the corrupted, the butchers ! Dont ever lose sight that your pen is mightier than Meles’s agazi butchers !
Ato Hailu has amply demonestrated that he possesses neither the good qualities of a leader nor the common goodness as a person. He is rash, narrow minded, emotional, childish, selfish, tyrannical and vindictive. His damaging leadership has to END and it has to end in the appropriate fashion. The sooner the better.
I don’t know why he runs to the media everytime an internal problem occurs. Examples: problem with Lidetu, the question of enterning parliament, and now the problem with the rest of the delegation. In fact I blame Ato Hailu for the actions he eventually took.
Hi Elias,
Keep it up.You are the only journalist who is doing his job perfectly, informing the public the right information. The information could be good as it could be bad sometimes. The emperor has to come out of his palace and talk to the people.
God bless Ethiopia
The Ethiopian People loved the principles behind kinijit.
I don’t think they are worried about an individual.
If he can’t agree with the mojority of his colleagues,
he deserves to go!!!
Elias, thank you for your up to date informations regarding CUDP’s action and so and so forth. Ethiopian review becomes my one stop shopping for current affairs focusing on Ethiopian news.
Keep up the good work
Mahlet
I support one of the comment from this forum about Hailu shawel, even though he is a man of integrity, he lacks maturity, all these are due to the fact that he shooting himself on foot. he went on to critisize the media, like ER ethiomedia and even VOA, He is the one who goes on air to a different internet media who support one side of the story
Please engineer, do the right thing for your senses
Hi Elias,
YeJib chikul kend yineksal. weyanen yemamesegnew anten bemeksesu new. Keep it up bro.
by the way, Elias good news, loool Your sources are too fast lol
May God bring about peace and togetherness between our leaders.!
It is really shame to stand with ato hailu shawule to fight against melese’s dictatorial regime at home. As charity starts from at home, Ato hailu should start the struggle for democracy from him self. Ato hailu should know that no more dictator on ethiopia’s soil. He is not only shamefull man , but also very intersting one. he is being elected as a leader of the popular party [CUDP]by officially elected other kinijits’ leaders, now he has been insulying them ,refusing to work with them and created his own group from his families’ members , more over he has assigned the former ETA’S president lumpen[ bozene] taye who has thrown his colleages away in such a difficult time at home. It is really laughable that Ato HAilu is living with feudalist mentality and on the other side he is talking about democracy. At hailu shawul must know that our ppl have paid the highest price in their life at home for kinijit’s sake, that is why we, ethiopians in diaspora do not allow him to controll CUDP as his own official wife. The owner of CUDP is our ppl at home. that bloody EPRP’s agent must take off his hand from CUDP, other wise we are not going to allow that lumpen[ bozene] to do his business as he has done with ETA to fillfull his big belly. God bless elias. amen
I think Ato Hailu is doing what he should have done few weeks ago. It’s good that he is doing it now, but had he done it earlier he wold have saved us a lot of time and energy. And the disscusion would have been on what kinijit could do in Ethiopia. I heard his interview on German radio; it is encouraging. I just wish he had done it a bit earlier. Ato Hailu you are doing the right thing keep it up. Let’s just learn from the past and move on.
Ato hailu has still time to think and take the right decision with out any one’s influnce. He must stop giving any interview by any medias about the party’s and about an issue’s which has created some misunderstanding between other kinijit leaders on one side and him on the other side.Ato hailu told us in his interview even in paltalk’s room, the source of their differences, whether the delegation should go out side ethiopia or not, but in his interview in german’s radio told us that “they could not do any thing in ethiopia because of weyane’s restriction not to meet with publice, that is why we have decided to go out side and talk with ethiopians in diaspora” based on his interview ato hailu knew very well the delegation can do better politics in diaspora than sitting in ethiopia. So we, ethiopians are asking ato hailu respectfull to dissolve “KIC” ,which is being created by EPRP’S well known agent bozene taye, and ato hailu must free him self from his hijackers or he will be in the same situation like lidetu ayalewu. God helps ato hailu to come to his sense and join ethiopia true ethiopians who have been struggling for the release of kinijit’s leaders ,
