  1. Abebe Gelaw did what his conscience forced him to do. He couldnot listen to the lies of the dictator, the polititcian that ruined the entire social and cultural fabrics of a country and who is responsible for the plights of many, in the north, south, east and west, everywhere. Abebes reaction is not unfair with regard to what Meles Zenawi did in ruining and dislocating the lives of many. This Dictator is responsible for the death of so many innocent students, farmers, merchants; the Gambelas, the Oromos, The Tigreyans, the Amharas, the Gurages, the Ogadenians and the Somalis. The segregating apartheid regime that is constructed by Meles Zenawi is favouring few and devastating the majority. As such it has to, and it would face more aggressive reactions as the time goes by. The important thing is though to differentiate between opposition against what dictatorship does to people and the hatred people display to one another.

    As to me Abebe Gelaw underlined his message by calling attention to the discrepancy between what a dictator is saying on such a world forum and doing to his people in his country. To bring a change we must focus on wrong doings and fight for betterment and our freedom. Donot pls direct this very important issue toward the century long fight between the Amhara and Tigre elites for domination. That is inhumane as the Dictator you are figting against. Thank you Abebe Belew for your courage. I hope this will not be the last we will hear from you.

    The world leaders know how Meles is one of those evel leaders in the world. I wanted to highlight that Abebe does not loose his professional integrity, instead, he exposed Meles’s criminal act infront of World leaders. You saw how he was degraded and humilated. If he was a true elected leader, he could have had a confidence on himslef. Meles is anti-Ethiopian agent who was from fascist family and tribalist, a person who beleives that those Ethiopian people who stand for Unity shoudl be destroyed. He must have had a serious mental problem while he was growing there.

    Menelick is the source of all evil in Ethiopia. He sold half Tigreans to Italy and he oppressed half Tigreans until they were close to extinction in Ethiopia. I do not like Meles but it is Chauvunists like Abebe who created Meles. you think he will not lose his professionalism, he did lose it already. He went in as a journalist but he betrayed his profession and he was dragged out by police because he did not act professionally. His behavior will not convince the Ferenjis. By the way Abebe is a G7 armed struggle rebel member? he should not talk even about democracy at all. He believe he has to kill people to bring freedom? It was wrong for him to be allowed into G8 meeting. I know for some Ethiopians he is hero.     No system could last long by using a brute force alone as MZ has wished using ploys such as democracy, development.

    2. MESSAGES TO MONEY MAKING CONSULTANT AGENCIES/LOBBYISTS

    Tyrant MZ hires PR and solicitor law firms with one objective in mind-spinning the non-existent achievements and attacking those who raise concerns about fundamental violations of rights.
    These same agents through a link up with the powerful corridors of power literally purchase access for MZ to continuously get invited on the world stage to show case death and destruct ions as achievements.

    Looking to the future, this is a turning point in that the veil of ‘protection’ has been removed from the tyrant who sees himself above the law and regularly humiliating Ethiopians from his hide-out and security safe-enclaves!
    It is no longer ‘I shall continue as usual’ twisted psycho-drama that the tyrant alone has access to!. The next time some one gets the chance to protest in such a convenient public forum with lots of media people present I suggest that the would be protester to wave two handcalffs each with a hand high up above the head. There is a discussion on Abebe and there are 106 comments. 99% percent of the comments are against Abebe. The majority of commentators I perceive are Tigreans. I come here. there are 79 comments. 99% supports Abebe. I perceive the majority of the commentators are amhara ethnic. This shows you that the country is divided along ethnic lines. There is balance. Everyone is against each other. I am half Tigreans and Half Eritrean. I am 100% Ethiopian. I do support neither the comments in here nor do I the ones at Tigraionline. They are all polarized and not based on reason except on amhara and Tigreans ethnic rivalry.

    I have a message to all of you. Both of you are wrong. I personally do believe Meles Zenawi is not a good leader. He is antiEthiopia from day one. He should remain in the leadership position at least for the next 25 years. He can do it. He is very fit and healthy. So what do you say?     I can see Alula you have wisdom but at the same time you are afraid of what will happen especially to your ethnic groups that is why you come out striking. I think I understand that you don’t like extremism from both sides of the isle. Let us be honest, even though we never liked the barbarism of Mengistu, let us remember the era before Mengistu. What ever each ethnic groups feel, let us admit that the people of Ethiopia including Eritrea were at peace. That should be the number ONE comparison between the leaderships we were then and the leadership we are now. The only group the entrie Ethiopians had problem in the past was leadership.   47. I know Abebe since his time at AAU. He is eloquent and smart. I wish he could ask Meles tough questions instead of trying to embarrass him in front of all the people. For better or worse (legal or illegal), Meles represents all Ethiopian people as a PM. What happened was that simple frustration got the best of Abebe. Trying to embarrass Meles would not do any good …to any political cause. Though I admire Abebe’s courage….the courage could have been used productively in a civilized and productive manner. For example he simply could ask about imprisoned journalists and activists…and why there is no freedom in Ethiopia although the government says otherwise. Once we become emotional it is hard to be rational….this is the curse of Ethiopian politics…wherever it is and whoever practices it.

    your comment is based on two possible reasons. One is that you want to be like Abebe and you are angry that you are not. Second, you are a TPLF supporter and you feel sorry for Meles. Did you hear any of Meles’ speech how rude he is insulting opposition figures and journalists. did you say what Abebe did was uncivilized? I can not believe any one could say a peaceful protest and heckling uncivilized. you need to examine where you are standing in Ethiopian politics.
