Woyanne gunmen on a killing spree in Kenya

Gunmen from the ruling Tigray People’s Liberation Front (Woyanne) murdered three former Addis Ababa University students in Nairobi, Kenya, and wounded two on Friday. The wounded are currently receiving treatment at the Kenyatta Hospital. Reportedly, the gunmen dragged the five students outside of their room and shot them execution style. The 3 died at the scene.

Saturday, the squad of Woyanne gunmen went to the temporary residence of 4 exiled Ethiopian journalists at dawn (around 5 AM local time), dragged them out of their rooms and were about to take them away when neighbors saw what was happening and started to yell for help. The loud scream by the neighbors attracted the attention of other nearby residents who also joined in the scream. As people gathered, the four journalists continued to resist being taken away while being savagely kicked and beaten by the gunmen. Finally, the six gunmen (3 Woyannes and 3 Kenyans wearing military uniform) left the journalists who were lying on the ground and took off.

Ethiopian Review spoke on the phone with one of the journalists who was beaten by the gunmen. He is a member of the Ethiopian Free Press Journalists Association. He and his fellow exiled journalists are currently in hiding. Shocked by the murders and kidnappings, Ethiopians in Nairobi are organizing a protest rally in front of the UNHCR on Monday to appeal for international intervention.

The exiled journalists and students are appealing to Ethiopians in the U.S. to contact the Kenyan embassy in Washington DC and New York and demand that the government of Kenya provide security and stop Woyanne agents from terrorizing and murdering the refugees.

In a recent edition of the Woyanne newspaper, Abiyotawi Democracy, there was an editorial that calls for measures against journalists who are harming the Woyanne regime’s image. After shutting down all the media inside the country, the attack on the exiled Ethiopian journalists and students in Kenya looks like the type of measure the newspaper advocated.

Intimidating journalists by Woyanne agents is not limited to inside Ethiopia and neighboring countries. Ethiopian Review has been receiving death threats more frequently that ever from Woyanne agents in the U.S. The following are some of the many death threates ER has received recently:

    I think the best way for the journalists and other activists in Kenya or any where else including the US is to defend themselves just as any man should do. They should arm themselves because they should know they are involved in a life and death struggle. The next thing is they should go after the Weyane killers in Sudan or Kenya. They should hunt them down and kill them. They have the right to defend themselves. People have this right even in the US. If somebody comes to your premises and try to kill you, the law permits you to defend yourselves by any means possible. It will allow you to shoot them down. They should take the offensive. If they don’t want to do this, then they should not be involved in the struggle in the first place.

    Elias, for those morons who are threatening you through the internet in the US, you can track them down very easily and put them behind bars. All you need is consult an IT expert. It is very easy. These coward morons who are threatening you are so stupid,they think no body sees them. They have no clue that an electronic evidence is the best evidence in the US.

    I think you should send your investigative squad to the the UNECA to identify the looser at that IP. This low life moron is doing subversive work by threatening media personnel at the expense of the UN using United Nations resources.     I forgot to mention. For example, you can track Bayissa who sent you the threat from UNECA. All you have to do is take your attorney and contact the server adminstrator who is in charge of the room the threat was sent from. The server security adminstrator has access to the individuals (employees) who are using the internet. Perhaps, you need a court order to do that. Consult with an attorney specializing in internet crimes.

  12. It is long overdue to take arms and start killing the Weyanes. The more we talk about peaceful struggle, the more they kill us. Whatever happened to our gutts?

    I am tired of people running for their lives leaving Ethiopia and then hunted down like rats while in exile. Where is our manhood and bravery? Why don’t we hunt them down here in the diaspora when they are killing our people in Kenya and Ethiopia? This is what I don’t get it.     Are we a bunch of naive morons expecting to be free without paying the price for freedom? Who told us freedom is cheap? Where the hell did we get the idea that we can be free just by passing HR-2003 and conducting a few demonstrations? When are we going to learn that we can fight tooth and nail with the enemy and proove it to the Weyanes that we can bring them down to their knees in their own game? Why don’t we do that and give the Weyanes what they have asked us for a long time?

    I am really depressed. We can’t find peopel with guts to fight the Weyanes hunting them down whereever they are including the diaspora and killing them. We have the right to defend ourselves when they are maiming, torturing and killing us. Can we learn something even from the unorganized Somali kids who are fighting the Weyanes with determination and bravery? Or do we think they are stupid or some uncivilized mobs or something?

  28. This is nothing new. Scores of Oromo refugees in Kenya have been killed and even in the USA Oromo journalists have been bullied by TPLF spies. I know of an incident in Europe a CUD fan have been beaten by Tigreans. We need to take some collective action against these killers.

I think this people are cowards they will not try to harm anybody here in the U.S because they know they will have to pay for it but what I am worried about is our people in Kenya and Yemen. How can we help them? There should be some way of preventing this kind of crime from happening. What should we do so that those responsible are caught and punished appropriately by authorities. Many individuals kidnaped from work places, many others kidnaped from where they were exiled and never appeared since then. The latest victim of woyane kidnaping is a young man who suffer schisophrenia and was taken from Hargiessa and is in Jijiga detention ceneter. This country and its rulers must abide by the rule of laws, in respecting all forms of beings, otherwise the trends of self destruction brings about the death of the nationhood.
