O.N.L.F Military Communique

In response to summary executions, detentions of nomads and senseless shooting of livestock in various parts of Ogaden, particularly near Fik area, the ONLF dispatched large numbers of fighters who have engaged TPLF forces in 5 separate engagements near the towns of Gashaamo, Galaalshe, Gabo-Gabo, Sanhaskule and Haboosane.

In the period 26 October through 1st November these engagements resulted in over 270 TPLF troops killed with an unconfirmed number wounded. Five military transport vehicles were destroyed by RPG-7s. The transport vehicles were full of troops when they were struck resulting in a high number of casualties.

Military engagements between ONLF troops and TPLF forces in the Ogaden has increased significantly over the last two weeks. This increase appears to be a coordinated and deliberate escalation in armed conflict initiated by the TPLF regime despite the humanitarian crisis in the Ogaden.

The TPLF regime continues to deny free access to the Ogaden for journalists in order to hide the extent of its military casualties from the outside world.

    The only language the tyrant regime understands well is this form of zero tolerance response for a Woyane lead destructive inhumane activities. I wish the rest of the regions intensified this sort of gorilla fighting in every corner mother Ethiopia .

  3. In order to speed up the demise of this fascist ruthless monoethnic regime, Ethiopians, as a whole, need to unite and wage a common struggle from all corners of the country. Let us not watch ONLF alone fighting against Woyanne. It is to Woyanne’s advantage to fight against one of us at a time. Let the pressure come from all sides of Ethiopia, after all injustices and oppression is not specific to Ogaden. It felt in all over Ethiopia by all defencelss Ethiopian citizens.

  4. It is foolish and irresponsible to appluad the ONLF. The ONLF is not good for Ethiopia. Some of you and Elias remind me of the early and late 80s when many supported the TPLF and EPLF.

    The Ethiopian army is much more Ethiopian than the ONLF.
    I oppose the TPLF dictatorship but not the army.

  5. If “The Ethiopian army is much more Ethiopian than the ONLF” then by extension the Ethiopian army (used by Woyanne to commit crimes against innocent civilians) is also much more Ethiopian than the non-combatant Ogadeni children, women, elderly and others. And by the same token, perhaps,
    the Ogadenis are less Ethiopian or not Ethiopian at all. Now, where do you draw the line?.
    Can you tell the Ethiopian army to revolt against the TPLF and not to commit crime in the name of Ethiopian army against the very people they were supposed to defend?. Or would you advocate for the ONLF and the rest of Ethiopia for that matter to simply watch the decimation of innocent people in the Ogaden?.
    I wish there were easier answers.
    May be find the answer if all of us in Ethiopia decided at once to fight against the Woyanne and save the lives of both our innocent civilians and those of the army.

    our horn-africa have 3 great ethnics – oromo, amhara, somali. our ethiopia have more than 80 ethnics,but 8 ethnics have more than 1 million people – amhara, oromo, somali, tigray, afar, sidama, gurage, hadiya. ethiopia is now onder the domination of the tplf,and the somali state is a part of ethioland. if you are anti-somali because the somali people live in kenya,somalia,ethiopia,and djibouti,that is your problem. but you must to now that we have one ennemy.

  9. the victory of ONLf over TPLF is an ethioian victory. onlf is a member other ethiopian opposition groups. they want ethiopia to be ruled fair and democratic elections, not by guns as Melez and his henchmen do.

  10. ONLF is an Ethiopian rebel with cause, that will have more to benefit within Ethiopia. The political land escape of Ethiopia is turning on Meles and his regime. Somalis know now Ethiopian people aren’t their enemy but tugs who rule them. VIVA ETHIOPIA, VIVA ONLF!
