  1. What a cruel joke! My heart almost stopped. I would have been more relaxed and happier if you joked like “meles found dead in the bathroom, or meles and his gangs ran away.” But not jokes about the people I like and admire most.

  2. The joke would have worked better, if it had been made based on Birtukan Mideksa. When, I read the title “Teddy Afro escapes from jail, arrives in Kenya” I was 100% sure that this is false, because, how on earth Teddy would think escaping from prison while he has only a few weeks to get his total freedom (in relative terms)

  3. i was eager to find out why he would do that shit. finally u got me! but try to joken about meles, like he hangs himself or something like that April the fool!

  4. You got me … I was like why did he do this as he is only left with few months …. It would have been more exciting if the news was about Birtukan … but, it may not sound good for many as they do not want to such a joke about Birtu… anyways, we got something to talk about … good job man

  5. Dear Elias, the joke shows our common strong desire for the release of pop star from the filthy concentration of the genocidal regime. Teddy has been subjected to such kind of imprisonment solely because he said the tyrant is a new king and change hasn’t been effected. He also yearned for national reconciliation and unity. It’s a vendetta, not law enforcement we’re observing now. In such a situation what we should expect isn’t from prison but peaceful demonstration from the 4-million residents of Addis Abeba.

  6. If you told us that Tedy escaped the jail and left for Eritrea, then it would have been more realistic and relevant for april the full joke. But escape from jail to Kenya or United State they would have given him back to Ethiopian government.
    Thanks.

  7. I guess a certain humour goes a long way to relax our otherwise stressed body. But, Elias, please don’t do that in the only Ethiopian website I have respect for. I knew it was April fool day. But, I really believed that was true – little do I know…

  8. Are you sure that Teddy will be free in a few weeks or months. Do you believe in Woyane justice. Meles is the law and he is the judge if he wants he can throw him again in prison. I wish him (Teddy) all the best because he is the true son of Ethiopia unfortunately Woyane is afraid of such people more than a spear or gun.

  9. It would be nice if you made the joke about PM Meles Zenawi. Like the plane which carries Priminister Melese Zenawi has exploded in mid air 2 minites prior it’s landing at Lonodn Heathrow Airport. The Priminister was on his way to take part on the fake G20 sumit to be held on the 2nd April 2009 in London…….It sounds perfect for April Fools day….why teddy afro…..he knows that he will be freed in a few weeks time…..God bless

  10. good one… ya’ll got me good.

I was mad at teddy for a minute. I said “why run now, wait a couple of month til they let u out and come to the West and stay, not Kenya!” lol

    damn I’m gotten.

  11. Please post George’s wishes of “meles found dead in the bathroom, or meles and his gangs ran away” every year on 1st April as this is the only day that such wishful thinking can be entertained.
