Timber shipment to Eritrea
Timber and other forest products are being shipped to Eritrea in massive quantity. Reportedly, the timber are being bought by Eritrean merchants with Ethiopian currency, birr, and sold in Eritrea. The timbers are also sold to Arab countries in hard currency bringing huge profit.
Ethiopian forest is eroding at a dangerous rate and the TG is doing little in reforestation, according to critics.
