EHRC Released Its 6th Report
On January 5, the Ethiopian Human Rights Conference (EHRC) released its 6th report in the Addis Abeba Hilton Hotel conference hall where invited local and foreign journalists gathered.
The report describes various human rights violation that came to the attention of EHRC between May through October 1993.
The reported listed the names of 72 individuals killed by EPRDF troops. The report also stated that 2,041 individuals are imprisoned without due process, and court rulings to free prisoners are not being followed.
According to the EHRC report, 45 journalists were jailed and
released on bail and press freedom has been and continued to be violated.
