Ethiopians from several European cities are mobilizing for a massive protest rally against Meles Zenawi — also known as the Butcher of Addis — in London where he will arrive on April 2 for the G20 meeting.
Ethiopian lawyers, in collaboration with the protest organizers, are also in the process of hiring a British law firm to file criminal charges against Meles under Section 134 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 of U.K. which authorizes the prosecution in Britain of any person who commits an act of torture anywhere in the world.
A representative of the organizers informed Ethiopian Review that some highly prominent Ethiopian lawyers in the U.S. and Europe are involved in the matter. The lawyers have prepared a comprehensive criminal case against Meles, which includes charges of torture and wholesale murder of unarmed Ethiopian and Somali civilians.
The April 2 protest in London is expected to attract the largest Ethiopian protest rally since 2005 when the Meles regime unleashed a campaign of terror against Ethiopians following the fraudulent May 2005 elections.

It is a wonderful idea to bring this butcher to the International Criminal Court, which has the juridiction to indict zenawi for multiple crimes against the people of Ethiopia and Somalia.
Meles zenawi has committed jenocide in Gambella, the Ogaden, mudered amharas, Oromos, Eritreans, others and crimes against humanity including war crimes.
There is enough evidents and documentations for all these crimes. His crimes is not less that of El Bashir of the Sudan.
The Ethiopians who shall persue the case shall get all necessary support they could need.

Meles, the butcher of Addis and Mogadisho, is no less killer from that of Saddam, Bashir or Mengistu. If ICC ever going to have any credibilty, Meles is another qualifier. The same “court” that sentenced Mengistu to face the gallows in Addis Abeba should also tie the notch around Meles’s neck. Great job !! ER

There should be no hiding place for Meles Seitanawi anywhere in the world but in his hometown, Mekelle, and these distinguished Ethiopian lawyers in the sidet (diaspora) should come up with many tangible evidences that the criminal Meles Seitanawi has, indeed, committed untold and offensive crimes on the Ethiopian people, crimes such as the slaughtering of innocent Ethiopian civilians on May 7, 2005, the jailing of prominent Ethiopian scholars and the press people, the selling of Gondar fertile land to the Sudan government without the approval of the Ethiopian parliament, the annexation of Gondar’s and Wollo’s territories to the Tigrean province, the starving of millions of Ethiopian children, and the overall human rights violations in Ethiopia, especially in Ogaden.
With all these in mind, let us march in the streets of London on April 2, 2009 and expose the multifarious crimes of Meles Seitanawi to the whole world.
As we march, let us carry some of the pictures of the murdered Ethiopians in cold blood by the dictator Meles Seitanawi with the picture that depicts the criminal Meles as he is butchering innocent Ethiopians without giving them a chance to defend themselves in the court.
We are not going to march quietly; no, we are going to march, singing loudly the following words: “We shall overcome” or singing: “Ethiopia agerie” (My country, Ethiopia, or “Ethiopia memekiaye” (My country Ethiopia on which I depend.
Women, children, old, young, business men, teachers, nurses, doctors, and custodians in the sidet (diaspora) must come out and join the marchers, wearing the Ethiopian flag: green, yellow, and red.
Let the British press, the French press, the American press, the Russian press, and the press of the other countries carefully record this historical march in the streets of London by responsible and democracy-lovers of Ethiopians in the sidet (diaspora) . Let them write the true story of that special event.
The story is that a certain murderer by the name of Meles Seitanawi has committed untold crimes while he is ruling Ethiopia; he came to power by force without the will of the Ethiopian people; he rigged the Ginbot 7, 2005 election, killed those who declared that he didn’t win the election and by force he again became the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.
Ahead of the coming second election, he has now put the leader of the opposing party in jail and has started harassing those who oppose him and putting them in jail because he still wants to remain in power until death claims him.
Finally, those Ethiopians who organized the march and encouraged other Ethiopians to join them will be remembered forever in the annals of the future democratic Ethiopia.
