  1. I left Addis Ababa 25 years ago, and have never returned because of fear for my safety. I was born at Gola Sefer and raised in Ras Mekonnen bridge (Piazza) and therefore new very well the road the video shows. I am shocked! It is a real shock! Where is TPLF’s real estate and construction boom? Where is Meles’s development? The level of poverity is unbelievable.

  2. Yihdega,
You just gave Elias his treat. The very reason he posted this video is to ‘impress’ people like you who measure poverty from a 2 minutes video clip. Of course Addis is a poor city in a poor country, but believe me, a lot people live safely in it. It’s a pity to hear that a second citizen immigrant who probably pushes the lowest life in the west hasn’t visited her ‘home towm’ for saftey reasons. I really hope that you didn’t mean it. I can’t imagine how horrible that might feel if I felt the same about my home city… Addis… which I feel REALLY safe. If you know what I mean.

  3. I visited addis a few months ago. It has so many “dirty” places than shown here, but I have seen aslo extraordinary nice places, which I didn’t see here in the show.

    God bless Ethiopian

The CONSTRUCTION BOOM? It has moved to Tigrai at the expense of the rest of Ethiopia. That is where the “Boom” is!
