Let’s face it there is no way that UDJ can be serious in “Contesting” the Weyane organized and guarranteed US blessed election. They know they will NEVER win. They are out there just make the Weyane election have some semblance of legitmacy.

It sounds funny as Elias puts UDJ’s to do list,it makes me smile.But I don’t understand the problem if UDJ involved in none political public activities and show the people peaceful ways of expressing their feelings and protest to the government with out causing any one a harm.This allows UDJ to survive longer and enter deep into the people and eventually win the minds of Woyane supporters.Is anger the only credible way to agitate the people?I think this civility is the unic foundation of UDJ’s success.
That poetry night sends a strong message to Woyane than to other opposition supporters,it sends a message to the lower ranking police members and lower ranking officials that UDJ is more civilized party.
The enemy of UDJ is the injustice in Ethiopia but not individuals.One of the poems about Election was only 6-8 lines long,and very soft but the content is strong ;and worths more than6-8 pages of ER’S uncivilized negative agitation.Elias pls read it.
Martin Luther King’s and Mandella’s success never came without the support of the white population.Both fought not only against the white supremacy but the black anger as well.
Let me tell you one fact that is agreed to be proven by many security experts .When terrorists kidnapp and detain innocent civilians they tend to be brutal at the begining,but when negotiation is delayed or ignored they become softer towards the safetey of their victims;this is because of the fact that the terrorists are also humans.They still continue with their cause, but it will be difficult for them to harm the victims that they socialized with.This time it is good for the other side of the negotiation,and most likely the terrorists lose and the victims will be freed.
In which country on earth peaceful donkey riders and peaceful bakers or peaceful dancers can win war monger who believes in his gun and doesn’t believe in peace ? Let us be serious unless if we are not joking.

But why is that you keep underestimating the power of UDJ?
There are a number of advantages in participating in the upcoming election.
The UDJP is disappointing many Ethiopians because they are trying to appease the dictator Meles Zenawi and accept all his terms and conditions to become the latest addition of the loyal or pretending opposition. The party is pacifying the youth to be the soft carpets for the continued rule of Meles Zenawi. This is all the message and the whole essence the party`s poetry night. Pacification and softening of the youth by mesmerizing them with their brand of peaceful struggle which does not mention the 8 or 7 points of Kinijit. Instead of talking about the serious crisis in the country and preparing the youth for the bitter struggle ahead, UDJP is wasting resources and energy on softening and pacifying the youth to be the good subjects of Meles Zenawi.

Birtukan and her company threw out the 8 pre conditions set by ethiopian people. Participating in Weyane election without the preconditions met is only to prolong the suffering of ethiopian people and legitimizing the TPLF regime in a cpuintry where there is no woring constitution.! Shame on Birtukan and her gangs! I beleive, the only person who is confronting Weyane in ethiopia is now ato Hailu Shawel and his Party AEUP!

It makes sense to follow non-violent means of struggle to save precious young lives and preserve the unity and integrity of a nation,but in the case of Ethiopia it back fires, and leads to more destruction and loss of many lives.This is true because first Ethiopa is led by a very brutal undemocratic ethnic based organization that controls all the media outlets and economic tools of the whole country.On the ugly side of that the ruling party comes from minority ethnic group.As it is the principal goal of Weyane to destroy the Ethiopan nationalism and place it with ethnic entities who can claim self-reliance and are guranteed by article 13 of the constitution, It will not be wise to let Weyane succed and create the Abay Tigray for this main reason Ethiopians have to start confronting Weyane through armed struugle and save their nation,before it is too late.
I don’t find it funny. Give them a chance to do what most of us are afraid to do! Elias, even the Goinbot 7 that you endorsed is dysfunctional, so no one in the US has the credentials to ridicule Birtukan and the party she leads. We know that she is capable and we know that it is not in her interest to become a benign, loyal and inefective puppet party! Elias, please stop demoralizing those who chose a peaceful path. You can always praise those who have vowed to overthrow TPLF by force…I could say that Birhanu is workin on a missile that will be lounched from Old School University in NY and land at Minilik palace and make funn of Ginbot 7, but I won’t, because I know both Dr. Birhanu and Birtukan are struggling for our people towards a genuine democracy. Birtukan`s brand of the peaceful struggle is simply cooperating with the Woyannes. Ms. Birtukan has been flirting and pleading with the die hard woyannes by apologizing for nothing. She has tried to downplay the atrocities of Meles Zenawi by openly understating the number political prisoners in Ethiopia. The woman seems to be in deep love with the woyannes. They say love is blind. She can not see the crimes of Meles Zenawi and is forgetting all those who died struggling for the principles of Kinijit.The UDJP has just given up the fundamental conditions for a free and fair election which were put forward by the former Kinijit. Participating in Woyanne`s election drama without those preconditions is cooperating with the woyannes.
mr. elias please let her to lead her party ,that follows a peaceful struggle. you can follow what ever you want. you have to understand that you are not the only politician and journalist found in USA,
