PARIS — Two expatriate staff for French aid group Medecins du Monde have been kidnapped in a rebellious southeastern region of Ethiopia.
The pair were kidnapped on Monday in Ethiopia’s Ogaden region, an arid stretch of land on the border with Somalia where rebels are fighting for independence, the Paris-based group said.
Medecins du Monde – which translates as Doctors of the World – did not give the names or nationalities of the kidnapped staffers. Nor did it give other details about the kidnapping or the kidnappers.
The aid group, in a statement Tuesday, said it is in contact with the authorities, with its other staffers in the Horn of Africa country and with the two staffers’ families.
Ethnic Somalis have been fighting in the Ogaden for more than a decade, seeking greater autonomy or an independent state. Somalia lost control of the region – the size of Britain and home to around 4 million people, in a war in 1977.
The region is being explored for oil and gas. Ethiopian forces stepped up their operations after the rebel Ogaden National Liberation Front attacked a Chinese-run oil exploration field in April 2007, killing 74 people.
Drought and the rebellion have also combined to create severe food shortages in the region. Because of the military campaign, the government has restricted humanitarian agencies and others from accessing the Ogaden.

The first case scenario can be this kidnapping can be the usual weyane dirty game to divert the attention of the international community as if the French people got kidnapped by the somalians while weyane set up the kidnapping, The reason I said this is that weyane is very known for setting up bomb blasts in addis ababa and other parts of Ethiopia to blame Shabia and other oppositions of Ethiopia. Recenlty, weyane has set up so many blasts in addis ababa and tried to blame shabia, And back in 2005 right after the election aftermath weyane has set up so many blasts though out the country to balme the popular CUD as a terrorist group, Even if we look at the history of weayene from the beginning when weyane took power in 1991 weyane has set up so many blasts in addis ababa and other parts of Ethiopia and blamed OLF. Since, then weyane has been playing so many dirty games to blame others as a terrorist group while the very fact is that Weyane is terrorist. Apart from all these weyane has been inciting so many ethnic clashes among various ethnic groups but tried to blame others.
We would not forget that the weyane incited the ethinic clash among the Amahars and Oromos in Harerge that was the cause of the thousands of lives in Arba Gugu, and Bedeno and other parts of Harar including chercher, diredawa, Bedessa, Assaba Teferi, and other parts of Harrar.
We wouldn’t forget that weyane incited anther ethnic clash in Welyata region that had left thousands of lives lost among the various minorities ethnic group in southern Ethiopia.
So in general we wouldn’t forget the dirty game of weyane that always brings ethinic clashes and that always set up blasts to kill innocent civilians to get the attention of the Ethiopian people and the western as if weyane is anti terrorist while the fact is that weyane is a terrorist group that has been terrorizing the entire Ethiopia and now Somalia for the last almost two decades.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, therefore there is no way that weyane can trick the Ethiopian people and the westerners using poor psychology that is bounded by a bunch of lies any more.
The second scenario might be unlikely the somalians who had kidded the people. Because the somalians are very angry by the invasion of weyane fro almost two years. The weyane criminal group keep sends innocent Ethiopian troops along with the criminal groups of army agazi for destruction purposes that are carried out in Somalia. The somalians have been lost so many thousands of lives, along so many other deadly crimes , the somalian women have been raped deliberately by the weyane agazi troops, the weyane destructive group has abolished so many parts of the Somalia city and had forced so many millions of Somalians to fled their own country that has been already unstable for the last almost two decades. The crime that is going on the Somalia has probably made the Somalia’s to make the kidnapping.
In general it is got to be weyane who is responsible for the kidnapping irrespective of the situation. Because it is weyane who is terrorizing both nations, Ethiopia and Somalia. Now the somalians are trying to resist the weyane criminal force troops, but the Ethiopians just starting that. When we Ethiopians totally engaged to resist the weyane criminal groups, that is where the end of the weyane era.
Now lets all fight the weyane regime by any means, lets all boycott the weyane businesses and their items around our area. Lets all support the groups that we believe they can fight weyane as soon as possible, to me Ginbot 7 is the best party that needs our support financially, in skill, labor and everything.
