A capital murder warrant issued for Abey Belete Girma

A capital murder warrant has been issued for Abey Belette Girma, 37, in the killing of the owners of Desta, an Ethiopian restaurant, at around midnight on Aug. 15. Yayehyirad Lemma and Yenenesh Desta were gunned down on the front porch of their home on Marquita Street after closing the restaurant for the night.

According to CBS Channel 11, the arrest warrant says a co-worker of Abey Belete’s contacted police after the man admitted to following them home from the restaurant and shooting them. Girma showed the witness the gun he used and said he had felt “disrespected” by the couple.

  1. good evenning elias, yes we are DOUBBLE STUNNED HERE IN DALLAS. first it happened to these two hard working couple, and ofcourse second it happened by one of ours. SAD all the way around. but thx elias, you were ON TOP of things as far as informing us all and i know GOD must have something for you brother, you are as near to me as dallas, and further as washington and all the way BACKHOME all at the same time. and if that is not PASSION and DETERMINATION working TOGETHER hand in hand , i don’t know what is. normally i just don’t like to leave a comment after reading any report or journal, BUT you beat it out of me every time and i thank you for that.

  2. It is a good policy to show respect to all people by default. Though killing a mother and father just because they showed disrespect is dumb and hopefully the idiot will be jailed for life.

  3. Send this loser to Moon with a week’s worth food and oxygen. RIP beatiful couple. Jealousy and envy if not faile business dealing are the main cuases of such heinous crime. A community seriously in need of spiritual healing. A community that is on a fast lane to so many more misfortunes that is in need of a total ovehaul. I mean this is really serious and a symptom of serious sickness in our society.

  4. he never understand what is the word respect means he probably got jealous of the couples life style and helping him to better his own life this is how he pay them the good thing is he live in texas they don’t play with this kind of fool by keeping him in jail they will give him death penalty and he will pay for it….
    as ethiopian we have never seen this kind hateful crime to our own people but what makes it worst is we come to in this great country to better our life and our peoples life back home but this kind of thugs coming to this country they polute our names hopefully some of this idiot like him they will learn their lesson from this wanna be killer…
