The outcome of the various reconciliation programs is the promotion of national unity and transformation, and the healing of a traumatized, divided, wounded and polarized people by searching the truth, accountability, justice, forgiveness and healing. However. the implementation strategy, tactic and process is not a one-size-fits-all that is easily understood across cultures, identities, nations and societies. Hence, different people, from different parts of the globe, having been affected in distinct ways, by different conflicts, have a different and peculiar understanding of the concept of reconciliation and how the process should be engaged to influence the outcome… [read more]

Good approach. It started with the right approach in calling for the recognition and respect natural diversities and in all its forms and addressing the problems in a fair and equitable manner with justice for all. But the conclusion that wholesomely and categorically denies and rejects the killil structure rather than opposing the utterly wrong methods of highly centralized administration of the killil amounts to the same old Amhara elite self serving unitary authoritarian centralized dictatorship known to all none Amharas for over 120 long years.
If I were you, instead of recycling and trying to FORCE FEED the same old failed system I would have concentrated on building equality, justice for all as well as possible welfare and well-being by openly admitting past wrongs that still carry ugly visible wounds and further building mutual trust and mutual respect and the recognition of diverse legitimate interests.
Whether the prevailing killil is necessary or not necessary must be left to latter times after we have completely removed the issues of long standing cruelties and injustices caused by the former highly unitarist political form of traumatizing tyrannical dictatorship and brutal bad governance of the minority over the majority.
Otherwise you are just trying to put the cart in front of the horse and may come to wonder as to why the horse stumbles and crushes along the way while it in fact is being led and helped by the intelligent poor cart charting and mapping the road. Typical Amhara elite way of multilevel over explanation just to say the same old simple story or to say that one size fits all.
Killil is not the enemy by any means. To say that killil is the enemy amounts to saying that the human body is in fact the main enemy because it came to exist and through that allowed all of the alien bad viruses and bacteria to attacks the body. Hence, killing the human body may eliminate the existance of bad bacteias and viruses. Hmm…
But using killil as a cover up and camouflage to hypnotize the people, dictate and exploit them deep down to their bones is the major crime and injustice. Killil in principle is a democratic form of organizing and empowering the people and the localities to have voices in matters that concerns them as to become the owners of their human and material resources within the over all federal national arrangement for the greater common good.
