  1. I’m one of 8 kids who left for school, and in my summer school breaks, use to leave my family’s home with our cattle to the low lands in the rainly months of June to September. Hence the land around our house would not be over used…or extra hay harvested to feed their cattle in dry months of the year. It was a two days trip back in sixties and early seveties. Last year I went to Ethiopia and learnt nowadays its much worse, they have to travel with thier cattle for 8 days…near the Sudanese boarder. How they do it? By get together on family ‘business’…two or three guys are given ‘needed’ cows from so many households. When they leave, their family and work in taken care by the community…It is a little picture I can post…and my father, now in nineties, use to say ‘if one season fails you, you can’t make it in sever seasone’. INdeed, it’s well said proverb among farmers…and when these life styles are cut-offed by the government, its genocide…

  2. Cryethiopia: What a beautiful and realistic picture you have drawn upof life in those parts where the currently disenfrachised Ethiopians lived! Genocide indeed it is when that lifestyle is harshly and suddenly interrupted. God help us all!

  3. ER/Elias,

There is a great letter that group of Ethiopians, Ethiopian Borad committee wrote to Al Bashir. Where did you post it for the people to read? I really I don’t understand you at all. This is a good news that the Diaspora and other Ethiopians finally sending a warning message to Sudan and not just that what is very very very important is that the message they sent to the world! This news you didn’t post? What elese you are going to post, gossip? It is important for the first time letting the world know our feelings about the land give away and you didin’t even post this news! That is how we Ethiopians need to market to the world what the TPLF regime is doing to Ethiopia in secret. We haven’t been reaching to the world about this. This is good news because the West will oppose this treachory especially they don’t want Sudan empowered as the TPLF is doing this for Sudan. In fact they did this to weaken Amara region for possible demand the Tigray region they took land from Wollo and Gonder. This will really implicate them and it is amazing we stayed this long not to contact our complaints to the world. We need to do that more often.Still i am boggled by why yoiu didn’t post this letter?!
