Of course the president is fat, old and has difficulty walking and even talking but he is not demented, his conversations is appropriate, his brain is functioning and no abnormality is indicated in his statements. He has history of serving his country during Haileselassie, Derg and Woyanie doing the right thing for Ethiopia. He didn’t torture, kill, send anyone to prison in his power. If he wronged someone for his personal gain or ideological reasons, someone would have mentioned accused him and he would have been rotten in prison like his peers instead of living in the palace. He has not used his power before or now for personal advantage, such as accumulating personal property or doing favor for his children. I heard that he didn’t even have his own car and didn’t own his own house (lived in a small apartment before he became a president) where the new Woyane cadres and generals build skyscrapers. Are we going to blame him for being old and fat? Where is our cultural decency, respect for elders and good manner? Some of us may have old fathers or uncles of his age. Let’s criticize his deeds and political positions, which are good enough to raise issues, such as working for ethnic based Woyane mobs, but making his fat body and old age an issue is frivols.
