Egypt prepares for military action to stop Nile dam

The recent announcement by Meles Zenawi to build a massive dam along the Nile River has been received by Egypt’s government as a grave threat to country’s survival so much so that the military has been instructed to make preparation for war, according to an exclusive report by World Net Daily.

A better strategy for Egyptians is to help Ethiopians remove Meles Zenawi, instead of going to war with Ethiopia. They will be doing themselves and the people of Ethiopia a big favor if they do that. A democratically elected government in Ethiopia will not incite war with any of its neighbors.

Egypt must understand that for Meles, the Nile dam project is an attempt to cause a regional instability that is intended to divert the attention of the people of Ethiopia not to rise up against his regime. Ethiopia has several underutilized rivers that can be used for hydroelectric power. Building dam on the Nile River doesn’t make an economic sense. Like the Tekeze River dam, it is a politically motivated project. Read the full report here.

  1. we ethiopians wont be fool anymore by weyane dead propaganda as we were fooled when weyane fought with shabia, and now we ethiopians will be on the side of any other country if weyane engages any war as it would be easier to remove the weyane criminal group from ethiopia, no more dead weyane propaganda

  2. Egypt doesn’t need to go to war. Ethiopia is crumbling from within. Thanks to TPLF, Ethiopian foundation as country is irreversibly damaged since ethnic wall erected in 1991.

  3. The idea of the grand dam building is not really for building any dam but for playing his usual political game perhaps in secrete agreement and cooperation with Egyptian circles in order to put up a small drama and theater where Meles threatens to Build Grand dam and Egypt Threatens to prevent the building.

The core aim? To fool the Ethiopians by diverting attention from the inevitable uprising and focusing on Egypt as an enemy rather Meles the enemy trying keep his bad governance for life time.

What we want is freedom from tyranny and bad governance not attention diversion propaganda foolishness. The dictator is currently claiming to be soon going to war with Egypt, Eritrea and the Ethiopian opposition. Kikikikiki… What a practical joke? :)

By the way is the PM’s new palace and the bunkers underneath ready? Gibagbo of ivory Coast is holding up in his tight underground bunker protecting himself from world and the wrath of the Ivorians.

  4. This has been predicted long time ago as “The water war”. Our masters “the west” has calculated and designed all this scenario years ago. When they say – It is time to ignite a conflict in this area or in this country, they just turn the switch. The prediction was by 2012 there will be a war between Egypt and Ethiopia.

  5. If in fact, Egypt attacks Ethiopia on the dam project, then I see this attack not only on Ethiopia, but also on the rest of East African nations that signed up for the Entebe agreement. Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and the rest will definitely fight Egypt.

Many Ethiopians, including those who live abroad – USA, UK, Canada, Israel and other countries will go back and fight.

Mind you if Canada attacks US (or vice versa) if US is using its river to build a dam.

This is not 1929, but 2011. Ethiopia doesn’t take any BS from anyone.

  6. There will a war between Ethiopia and Egypt as long Ethiopia is trying to use Nile but in order not to war we should stop thinking using the Nile completely. let us not bring Weyane for a second if we have a democratic elected Govt don’t we have a right to use our own water while our people are dying for lack of water. I think this is too much they have been using this water for so long, we have over 80 million we need to use Nile no matter what even if we need to go to WAR.

  7. The Ethiopian people, specially the GOJAM people who will lose their river should stand up with Egypt. The Gojam people will benefit NOT 1 cent from a dam built near the Sudan border.

If the tribal junta was interested in benefiting the Ethiopian people, why build the dam near Sudan border — just 25 miles away from another country? It is completely amazing! This criminal activity is DEFINITELY planned by the TPLF honcho Meles Zenawi. That tribal minded evil tyrant can not sleep without digging and planting time bombs on the Amhara people.

Ethiopians, specially GOJAM PEOPLE who will lose their river forever NEED to rise up against the midget evil who is hell bent on selling their river to the Sudan.

  8. War will be a no no. Egypt may own the latest in fighter jets allowed for foreign nations but the pilots may not be masters of their device when it comes to using it accurately. I believe any nation has the right to use its flowing or artesian waters in any productive ways it sees fit its domestic needs. But it should also take the welfare of people who depend on such flowing waters downstream for survival. I think Egypt will wait until the dam is completed and if it finds out the dam has slowed down the flow of water to its territory then it may take military action not only at this site but also at others already operational in the North.
Successive governments in Egypt have been molding their population in this thinking that they possess this natural gift to be better intellectually than everyone else South, East or West of Khartoum. Those of us who happened to have lived in Egypt know this endeavor very well. So I say this to whoever is running the affairs in Egypt now: Bug off and get a job!!! They are already cajoling with the fascist regime in Iran. And in the meantime, I say this to this goon from Dedebit: Get lost and stop flapping your sharp tongue.

  9. TIME TO RISE PEOPLE OF BELAY ZELEKE. IT IS TIME TO PUT A STOP TO THIS OR YOU WILL REGRET THIS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIVES.

    BEKA! GAYE! ENOUGH! YIKAEL!!!

  10. I would like to make clear to all Ethiopians:- If Egypt attacks Ethiopia,I say,if Egypt attacks Ethiopia,I will repeat it again for the last time, and I will say it now,I will definitely fight against Egypt for Ethiopia. If we defeat Egypt,Meles Zinawi will definitely be defeated.

    Signed,here below;

    I will fight.

  11. Simply said, we can’t fight with Egypt. They don’t need to send their soldiers on foot. They just send couple of advanced jets to destroy the dam. What can we do then? Just see and mourn! How determined we might be to defend our interest, we just can’t do anything to attack those advanced jets flying over our heads. What can we do? Courage alone is not enough. We don’t have the jets or the missiles to attack. We neither have anti-aircrafts to defend attacks by advanced jets. Woyane deliberately weakened our air force for fear of an elite army going against the TPLF gangsters. TPLF just kept thousands of illiterate and less skilled soldiers with little arms but kalashnikov. The army we have now can be well described as a large number of militias (with klashnikov) who are commanded by equally incapable Tigrian soldiers with no advanced training in modern warfare (except their experience in guerrilla war with Derg). And the guerrilla war experience is not of much use to defend areal attacks by sophisticated jets. Well one can obviously expect the shrewd Meles to know this. And he knows. Then why he threatens Egypt with such huge project? Simply to present himself as a hero and buy more time before an uprising kicks him out. Anyway, the Egyptians don’t to care about the dam (at least for now). We are gonna kick out this tiny ball-bellied tyrant before he starts building it.

  12. To the Patriotic
It is the Economy stupid! President Eisenhour has said it all. If war between this two countries ignites it is the fault of the military industrial comlplex. As soon as they see few changes in the pockets of this poor countries, they see a market to sell military hardwares that are flooding their storages. Who are we to them? the monkeys with low IQs. It was Yohanness then minilik then hailessellassie, then mengistu and now meles, yes we will always have different monkeys that could easily be persuaded to go to war against domestic and foreign enemies that do threaten their throne. Who cares about Ethiopia? We may have a smart future generation. Is it the selfish gene or what? Ethiopia and Egypt may be able to eliminate water problem easily but as it stands, the Egyptian military will use this excuse to stay in power and evade the question of democratic electiopn, as it is with meles. Those who have to sell weapons will do so and as it has been the tradition you and me will die protecting the sovereignity our country. When the going gets tough, even the bandas will join their brothers and sisters in the fight.

  13. Melese Has no an iota of blood and patriotism to venture and attempt to build a dam on the Nile. That has to wait until we have a national government with the unity of purpose and vision that can mobilize all strata of society and resources after building a sustainable national economic base and cohesive society
. Present day Ethiopia is divided and sub-divided to resist the slightst threat from our traditional enemy.
.Melese has no the money.40% of his budjet is from foreign subsidies.
.The national saving rate is less than 10 percent of GDP that will not allow capital formation.
.A huge project as conceived by Melese calls upon the participation of some of the best brains of the globe as the consquences of failure is very costy and even disasterious.
This man is again try to full us with two aims.1) divert the attention of the peole from the coming revolutionary tide an snach money as much as he can.

  14. I don’t really think Egypt is going to go to war with Ethiopia. I mean this will definitely kill their chance of any negotiations in the future by pushing Ethiopia to take the victim role. And let’s be clear that they may bomb some areas but they will never ever win the war. What will this war produce is a 100% support of Ethiopians to the hated regime of wayane and Ethiopia will definitely build many more dams without consulting Egypt. Don’t be decived, when it comes to external enemy, I’m 100% sure the overwhelming majority of Ethiopians will be ready to defend their country even by supporting evil regimes like the current one. Ethiopians are very emotional when it comes to external Enemies and anyone who do not support the war will be seen unpatriotic. This will happen for sure! Meles knows that very well.

But at the end, the only one that will benefit from the war against Egypt is the current dictator, Meles Zenawi. Egypt and the Ethiopian people will be the loosers.

But I doubt if Meles really is intending to build a huge dam on the Nile at all. If he were sincere, why does he shout out loud, give many interviews about the issue and provoke Egypt? I think this big dam thing is just a way of gathering support from Ethiopians by portraying him as a nationalist leader, which he is not.

Just a media stunt, I would say but a dangerous one.

  15. Truth,

The natural existence of diverse ethnic groups in a multinational state like Ethiopia is not at all a destructive phenomena as you wrongly claim but a highly constructive and sustainable phenomena. What is destructive is your blind chauvinist denial of what is naturally in existence rather than acknowledging and celebrating the diversities and building equalities and justice within and between them as great Ethiopians to defend Ethiopia as well as their group and individual welfare and wellsprings.

The danger is in fact that the Ethiopian government’s deliberate medieval politics of constructing Ethnic and religious hierarchies whereby some get all the best in society while others get all the jails and the worst in society.

If you place all Ethiopians irrespective of ethnicity and religion on equal basis on aspects and dimensions of life and livings you will come to NOTICE the fact that all of these diverse Ethnicity will firmly identify and die for Ethiopia which is their country and mother land both in theory and in practice.

Wayane is only exploiting the ethnic diversities for the sheer purpose of dividing them and ONLY benefiting it’s own 5% ethnic group and even among them only a tiny ruling elite benefit. It is true that ethnic and religious diversities stink at the hands of tyrannical dictators.

  16. Someone said the dam is 25 miles away from the Sudan border. I haven’t honestly followed the Dam story as it just recently broke. ER, please write a report of the proposed Dam.
Yes this is in part a political tactic by Meles. But one thing some commenter fail to realize is that Meles and his regime have forever been affected by the popular demonstration of 2005.
    Don’t you guys see that?
This is why the regime has been scrambling to appease the people more and more. Yes TPLF is a tribal genocidal junta, but they are scared for their lives and have been forced to start working for the people of Ethiopia. How much I don’t know, but clearly it has become harder and harder for the regime to abuse people.

Anyway, I am not down with siding with Egypt. Egypt will NEVER EVER EVER EVER support democracy in Ethiopia. In fact, isn’t Egypt partially responsible for aiding TPLF and EPLF?

    Just my 2c.

  17. Elias

Your article said it all: “Egypt must understand that for Meles, the Nile dam project is an attempt to cause a regional instability that is intended to divert the attention of the people of Ethiopia not to rise up against his regime. Ethiopia has several underutilized rivers that can be used for hydroelectric power. Building dam on the Nile River doesn’t make an economic sense. Like the Tekeze River dam, it is a politically motivated project…”

God Bless Ethiopia and Egypt peoples friendship. The illegitimate midjet that ruled Ethiopia with patronge is Enemy No 1 for Ethiopians so support the 90% Ethiopians to send back this wolf in ship skin to where he belongs (ICC IN DEN HAGUE)

  18. Truth

” Ethiopian foundation as country is irreversibly damaged since ethnic wall erected in 1991.

If your short memory serves it was not long that the Ethiopians has proved you that you are totally wrong on your assumption if you take out your finger from the trigger of yor ammunition in 2005 election do
you think what in 15 years contineous trial failed dream can change with five years iron fist the more woyanne nailed the coffin the more gigantic comes the foundation and it is only a matter of time that you will get it right stay tune

  19. This is nothing more than a political theater designed in the west, nothing more nothng less. Lets open our eyes, everyone by now knows who owns and controls both the Egypitian and Ethiopian regimes.

Westerners know full well that their core interests are served with these two regimes in power, they don’t want what started in Egypt end up constructing a regime accountable the Egyptian people, they own the Egyptian military lock, stock and barrel. They want to keep things just as they are, so this Nile water drama is a ready made stunt designed to kill two birds with one stone, keep both Egypt and Ethiopia saber rattling over Nile water keeping both regimes in power.

But there is one factor the western regimes can’t control, that is the people of both Egypt and Ethiopia. As long as Ethiopians stay focused on getting rid of Melles regime, no shennanigans by western propaganda machine will derail the people. It is refreshing to see many Ethiopians in the diaspora have wised up to this transparent trick and are not buying Melles’ sabre rattling over the Nile issue.

  20. 1. All speculative comments and Merakek only serve to bring more confusing real-events and topics in the future.

    2. To rely on assistance by Egypt or Egypt-related powers, as the book of Isiah puts it, is futile and self-defeating. You can say, Ethiopia is between a rock and hard place, in limbo, or worse, but Egypt’s absolutely not the answer. Meles is as good as Egypt so let the two Egypt work it out between them. As they say, like dissolves like, in high school chemistry.

    3. The appropriate question to ask would be, “What have we done to deserve this era or this wicked leader?” If you or your heir apparent, child (next gen), answer this then you are on top of things.

    Letter from Yemen

ኧረ እናንተ ሰዎች ደስ ደስ አለን እኛ:
    ለጅንጆሯችን መጋኛ
    ለጦጣችን ቀበኛ
    ለውሻችን ዳኛ
    ተላከልን ለኛ:: -ል/ኢ

  21. I think Meles uses the Nile tributary dam as a political tool to prolong his rule by playing into Ethiopia’s nationalist psyche. How can we believe that Meles has a nationalist sentiment when he gives Ethiopia’s most fertile land for Indians, Arabs, including Egyptians, etc. almost for free for 100 years? The fertile lands Meles gives away to foreigners are no less important in the long run for Ethiopians economic welfare than the bloody dam Meles builds on the Nile tributary. Get real people!

I don’t have an iota of trust in Meles being a nationalist committed to the long-term interest of Ethiopia and Ethiopians. The grand plan of Meles in the dam is to play us using our nationalist and patriotic zeal. Trust Meles’ nationalism at your cost. I, for one, run out of trust.

  22. Egypt won’t directly invade Ethiopia for the following reasons.

1-The military government in Egypt has its own political problems to tackle. It is expected by both the west and its own civilians to harry and elect civilian care taker government of Egypt and return to her barrack.

2-Egypt’s Middle Eastern neighbors, in particular Israel, are anxiously waiting to see predictable policy to come out of the new Egypt.
3-If Egypt directly attacks Ethiopia; it will signal the Egyptian military is adopting adventurous and militant policy towards its neighbors.

    1. 4-Declaration of war by Egyptian military will complicate its relationship with Israel, and the later won’t sit by and see Egyptian belligerency.
5-If Egypt invades Ethiopia; it must aim to win since she is the one who initiate the war. For any decisive victory the war has to be fought with ground troops, not just by air power alone. This seems to be unthinkable by Egyptian planners.

Yet the problem to all this is the rouge regime of Melese Zenawi-aka world class political hore.Melese, without any threat from Sudan secretly acting in the interest of the Sudan willingly hand out a 50K.M stretch of land along 1,600 k.m border. Here, as he is confronted by mounting domestic economic and political crisis, he is playing to keep the Ethiopian people on his side by introducing the proposed dam building at this moment.
He melese has never been the guarantor of Ethiopian independence and sovereignity. His proposal to build the dam at this moment is the last hope to sabotage the coming uprising against his rule.
Shame on some of you are suggesting for residents of Gojam alone to rise against the regime. Is not Tana the source of Blue Nile shared by Gondar and Gogam. But more importantly should we not call all Ethiopians to unite against the illegitimate rule of Melees?
At this moment more than anything else Ethiopians back is against the wall. We need to rise in unison and demand freedom now, so that we can shape our futrure.Melese need to be brought to accountability now-He is the Yodit GUdit of modern Ethiopia, he is killing in silence everything Ethiopian. He needs to be shown the way out; he is calling for it.

  23. Melese is making propogonda to redirect the ethiopian patriotic from the plan planed to throw him away by May 28.I am sorry we do not need help from Egypt We Ethiopians have enough patriotics,Kowledgeable and stong peoples to throw Melese from his power easily. My friends If Egyptians wanted we may share with them their experiance and stragedies

  24. listen Yonas with all respect I think you are making a big mistake. You can say that Melese is using this particular issue (nile dam) to avert a domestic problem. But for you to say that Ethiopia need not build a dam (may forever??)over the Nile river is outragious.Clearly it is self serving.

  25. Yonas this is an Ethiopain national interest question . I know you are deeply in your heart a nationalist. How could you say that we don’t need to build a dam on Nile. This is tha same stand that as those who gave up our natrual port. let us stop this philosophy of the enemy of my enemy is my fiend.Always Ethiopia first before any…

  26. #18.Tsrur,

You are dead wrong pessimist without any clues unless you are trying manipulate in favor of the Ethiopian tyrant.

The Egypt you are talking about and falsely predicting as to be not supporting Ethiopian democratization actually supported Libyan democratization and the Libyan democratic elements. If Egypt supported democracy in Libya and Tunisia why shouldn’t it support the same values in Ethiopia? Wake up!

But of course it takes two to a tango as the saying goes because if atmosphere of the political propaganda in tyrannical and parochial Ethiopia is belligerent, aggressive, warmongering and completely unfriendly, then expect the same responses in multiple folds even from Egypt too. In that case, better blame yourself rather than blaming anyone.

Influential figures like the ex-UN international Atomic energy Agency chief Mahamed ElBaradei and the chief of Arab league Mr. Amr Musa and their broad constituents are for democracy and representative pluralistic good governance.

If you are a Wayane conspirator, sure you must be pessimistic because Mubarak who secured large chunks of farm land from the double tongued Ethiopian tyrant who normally rewards Arab tyrants in secrete but turns around and blames them in public just to cheat, fool and play on Ethiopian emotions and old irrelevant antipathies of dividing and ruling. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! ):

  27. Eritreawi #21,

You hijacked my thoughts. But you expressed it eloquently anyway.

It is not the first time Melese is threatening Egypt. He did it also in the past.. Ethiopai/Nile is being used as as bargaining chip. This time, West is giving a first warning shot to Egypt new leadership through Melese’s big mouth.

  28. Elias,
Among so many of Jornalists who have contributed in the field of spreading informatuion, Ethiopian Review will always take the front seat.Your tireless contribution has brougt you to this type of status. I admire what you have done on behaf of the people who do not have a voice. I hope mine and your haterate towards the current government will not distruct us from other fundamental problem that the country is facing from our northern superpower neighbour who is treatening the survival of the country.

We should be able to understand the fundamentals of tactical and strategical enemy. Because of I do not support the government, that does not mean I will be at the sideline when my beloved country is treatened by outside forces. Nomatter what, Ethiopia should have the right to use her own resource according the needs of her own developmental needs. It is not a business that has to be imposed on us by Egypt or any other country. Our development issue has to be addressed by Ethiopia. It is no ones business to tell Ethiopia which river to devlop and which one not to develop.

Attack on Ethiopia is an attack on all of us. It does not matter who is in power. The power question to me is secondary issue. It is not primary for our survival as a nation. We may disagree on the issue of political, economic and social development and direction of the country. But, this should not be used as an excuse not to be at the side of our country.

If Egypt decides to go to war we all have a citizen duty to defend our country.let us use our brain to analyze what is at risk rather than using our immotion.

  29. Tulu
dont try to be a wise guy sunny the last time i was decieved by your likes and the gorilla in 4 kilo has been a very while here had it not been the ammunition you guys are an open book even for the peoples on the street of addis and your zick zachs are nothing except a dancin toy for a baby ,and i would rather be emotional join the Egyptian army rather than standing with a born lier and traitor who has been killing Ethiopia for last 20 years and took us very much back even not to be in a situation to defend our nation, woyanne is a one or max 2 days trip for Egypt military and the woyanne kuncho when ever he opens his mouth only lies come out and this time for sure it will have its consiquence.

  30. Tulu,

Elias answers for himself but as a member of the public reacting to public msinformation I think that you are a desperate spineless lame duck undercover wayane cadre trying to manipulate the much more experienced Elias for the benefit of dictator Meles who is currently frightened from the 21st century waves and promising miracles after miracles just to tranquilize and send the Ethiopian people to go to sleep, snore as well as face slow and sure death at the hands of a brutal tyrannical dictator for life.

The desperate tyrant knows very well the fact that he is completely rejected by the impoverished Ethiopian people soon to be converging on his little over drunken and overfed fat parasite circles.

Now he has invented and keep manufacturing artificial foreign and domestic enemies of Ethiopia out of Ethiopian friends just to get personal supports from the same Ethiopian people he is dividing and victimizing to buy time for himself as a minority prime minister for life with bad governance. And your assignment is to manipulate Ethiopians to focus on imaginary foreign enemies just to focus away from the real brutal brutal dictator riding on the shoulders of Ethiopian for the last 20 years.

Out of fear the dictator is manufacturing lies about chains of threats being directed against him from the outside just to frighten people from participating in their rightful legitimate uprising and changing their fate by their own actions.

He has learned from Gaddafi who accuses the Libyan people’s uprising as an Al Qaeda hand work or as the work of drunken and drugged youth communities, or mercenaries from out side, etc. and claiming that his own people in fact loves him so much and as such will surely die for him. At the same time and under pressure Gaddafi was bribing Tripoli residents with $400 each cash grants which he did not do for the last 42 long years of his dictatorial rule.

Those people waited 42 long years and popular uprisings in order get $400 out of otherwise super rich oil producing country of theirs. Cunning dictators dressed in sheep skins and fooling people every second of their sinful existence.

When will dictator Zenawi start driving through his nightmare area of Markato area, past Tulu’s tukul distributing dollar or birr bills to cynical residents before they start marching on his palace?

  31. Belete,

What the last 20 long years have clearly demonstrated to Ethiopians beyond any reasonable doubt is the fact that the ONLY enemy of 90 million impoverished Ethiopians is ONLY cunning fox divisive tplf minority brutal dictatorship criminality, that suffocated democracy and positive changes, blocked genuine political participation, robbed popular voices by 99.6%, massacred close to 200 young and bright innocent Ethiopians.

It also massacred all segments of the poor population from the East, West, North, South, center, etc. and sent/sending hundreds and thousands of our bright population in to medieval jails as well as refugee camps and sex-slavery, child labor of immoral, disgraceful and subhuman lives and livings on earth.

Ethiopia is only marching down to the drain with increased promises wars after wars, violence after violence, conflicts after conflicts, miseries after miseries, insecurities after insecurities, etc. All these and similar psychological, mental and physical brutalities are simply built in to the nature of the tplf minority dictatorship and it can not survive with out all of these evil and sinful values and actions.

Fascists, Nazis and red neck cave parochials may dance at these evil propaganda drumming but democrats and humanist Ethiopians must fight in unity within diversity just like their brothers here and now just like their brothers and sisters in the surrounding.

  32. Yes, Ethiopians need to deal with or negotiate terms on the use of the Nile river tributaries. But Ethiopia needs an honest and representative government to negotiate international terms that affect the long-term interests of Ethiopians. Meles and his government are not true representatives that take Ethiopia’s and Ethiopians long-term interest at heart.

Just take what ensues now. Meles and his regime are giving away hundreds of thousands of hectares of the fertile lands of Benishagul and Gambella areas to foreigners. Moreover, hundreds of thousands of irrigable fertile lands in the areas are on schedule to be given away to forefingers for 100 years lease. Yet, the regime talks about establishing a dam that irrigates the lands for food self-sufficiency in Ethiopia. What land will Meles irrigate in the areas close to the dam in Benishangul? Is it the hundreds of thousands of hectares of lands he has given away to foreigners for 100 years? The rhetoric of Meles are self-contradictory at best. He is neither an honest person nor reliable. There are thousands of Ethiopians who can lead better and negotiate better in order to fulfill the long-term interests of Ethiopians, including on the interests and uses of the Nile river tributaries.

Thus the issue is not about the use of Nile tributaries per se. It is not about dealing with Egypt either. The core issue is about trustworthiness of the regime in handling Ethiopia’s national interest and territorial integrity of Ethiopia. The regime led by Meles has unequivocally proven a failure in this regard by its own actions like the invitations for land grabs.

The mother of all questions is this: Do we need to stand a failed regime to address the issue of grand national importance like the issue of Nile? I think we can do better. Meles is not a nationalist dictator. He is a dictator that does not give a hoot about Ethiopia’s long-term national interests. The Nile dam rhetoric is more of a face-saving gesture than genuine commitment to national interests.

  33. This is nothing new in Woyane’s desperate attempt to remain in power. The same propaganda of Woyane happened against Eritrea and Somalia inorder to distract stiff opposition of ALL Ethiopians against his minority mafia.

Folks, the saying, “If you don’t know me by now, you will never never know me” applies here.

Those utopian Ethiopians who just dream an empty dream, I will simply say, “wedesh ketedefash, biregTush aykfash!”, for nobody expects a pegeon from a snake egg.

    Good Luck !

  34. dying cat digs it’s own grave. The dying dictator is barking and bitting neighbours and his co-parliamentarians in the room. This is the indication of demise.

  35. Blue Nile is Ethiopia’s greatest resource, so it can afford to not use it, for whatever purpose, power production, fishing or irrigation.

Still Egypt has no need to cry, worry or panic.

    Egypt has the following options:

    1. Egypt can start a war, but according to Meles Zenawi it will lose it. Such a hostile action by Egypt could lead upstream countries to also take hostile measures against it like diverting or blocking the Nile.

    2. Egypt accepts lets say a third of the Nile annual discharge, or about 30 billion m³, that is only 25 billion m³ less than its present “share”. We know that the country uses over 70 % its Nile “share” for agriculture. So it reduces using Nile water for agriculture.

    3. Egypt builds desalination plants like the Golf states and produces the amount of water it needs, if it needs trillions of m³ water annually let it produce trillions . Or it tries to find other ways to meet its water demand.

But if Egypt wants to continue this parasitic relationship with upstream countries like Ethiopia then it will lose.

  36. On the egypt revolution all ethiopians surprise there god and thanks, the only person , meles zenawiwas sad because they were a lot of secret agreement with the regim .
